I laughed hard at the critics consensus on rotten tomatoes: "Like a Werther's Original dropped down a sewer drain, Dirty Grandpa represents the careless fumbling of a classic talent that once brought pleasure to millions."
+Sperminator10000 I assume they're paying him handsomely for his trouble, my guess would be that he's trying to cash out while he can still work. I would think he would have plenty of money already but that might not be the case, and maybe he just wants to be sure to leave each of his kids and grandkids a good inheritance.
+Sperminator10000 been thinking that since Meet the Parents which already followed Analyze This. He's hardly done a respectable movie since Ronin. that was about 20 years ago, folks.
+Sperminator10000 i understand what youre saying bro but think about it....imagine what that fucking guy's quote is to do a movie, it must be insane. so from his perspective, why not just pump out all this bullshit (and btw mix in a good david o russell role from time to time) and collect big checks? he's proven himself "artistically" forever, now its just about collecting as much as he can for his family.
pickinboogers4u At least I saw the whole Dude, Where's My Car? movie .... Freddy Got Fingered ... I did not manage to see the whole movie. However, I still like Tom Green.
I really don't think it's as bad as people are making it out to be. I laughed quite a few times throughout it. Is this the worst Robert De Niro movie? No. After the Meet the Parents movies, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Righteous Kill, and Shark Tale this was nowhere near as hard to watch as those. And even after Daddy's Home and Ride Along 2 I can't even say this is the worst comedy I've seen this year so far. I'm not going to say it's underrated because I do agree it's a bad movie, but I will say it's over hated. It's a guilty pleasure.
Shout out to Jason Mantzoukas stealing the show!!! He said on HDTGM podcast this was "one of the worst reviewed movies of 2016". But, at least people like him in it!
I don't know why, but I find all of your movie reviews (even when I know that I have no intention of watching respective film) entertaining. For giving this serial procrastinator, a lighter for a cigarette addiction, many thanks for the videos WTF!
I find it funny that Christy said she felt like a loser seeing a movie in the middle of the day in an empty theater. To me it’s heaven when there’s no one else in the theater
SoulStylistJukeBox Was that seriously funny to you? Humor is subjective and I respect that but those clips were EMBARRASSING.. everything Aubrey Plaza said made me cringe and watching the once great Robert De Niro reduce himself to this truly embarrassing script makes me really sad. Vulgar humor can be really funny but there was no humor to be found in those clips just people swearing and being vulgar for no reason.
I dont know what movie you guys were watching but this film was fucking hilarious. I loved it. I was laughing so hard from the beginning of the film till the end. I know deniro isn't known for his comedy but he pulled it off in this one. I thought his performance was hella funny compared to watching him in las vegas. zac efron was ok, but they could've paired deniro with just about anyone in this and I still would've felt the same way. deniro was the star of the film. I wanted to see more tits and ass , hopefully they have a dirty director's cut of the film coming on blu ray. you fools need to lighten up , every actor and actress cant keep doing the same type of one dimensional film their whole career. I give props to deniro for trying to atleast attempt to do comedy. that's why he's a legend. what will zac efron ever be remembered for? high school musical?..fuck outta here.
+Diego Power That's a good question. If this was going to happen to anybody on this level I would have thought it would have been Nicholson who had his fair share of crappy movies in the early 90's. He turned himself around after "As Good as it Gets" and has managed to retain his dignity, whether his films work or not. DeNiro on the other hand has done horrific pieces of garbage almost non-stop. It's really embarrassing to see one of our greatest actors fallen like this.
Thank you all for sitting through this torturous movie for us, you really do love us! ^.^ By the way Alonso, you should bring Dave in more often (if he's free), he was great last week with Christie :)
Please tell me De Niro doesn't still go full method for all these movies he has been doing in the last 15 years, e.g. burying himself in research, staying in character down to the underwear, etc.
I thought two scenes were hilarious (the bee on the beach and the voicebox) and had some good other laughs along the way. About five moments were certainly a bit too cringly "shocking" and is what it's really getting slated for but if you overlook them its not a bad comedy at all. reminded me of a not so good Kingpin.
Jeez relax you guys and try to let everything you know go and enjoy something every once in a while. You're criticizing an R rated comedy movie for being vulgar, racist, homophobic etc. ? What were you expecting a movie called "Dirty Grandpa" ? To be politically correct? Don't read too much into things for just once, just laugh it off and get over with. I'm by no means saying this was a quality movie but it gives what it is offered you in the trailers. Dumb, immature, vulgar fun. Although I agree with viewer comments about the quality of movies Robert De Niro has been in lately.
+Can Hüsrefoğlu Maybe people don't find a script that appeals to clueless bigotry is fun? "You're criticizing an R rated comedy movie for being vulgar, racist, homophobic etc. ?" Yes. They're film critics. That is literally what they do. And "R rated" doesn't excuse the vulgarity, racism, or homophobia. "Fargo" is rated R. But it's, y'know, a GOOD movie.
+zammmerjammer What I was basically trying to say was the movie delivers what it has offered from day 1, and what it offered was obviously not a classic or anything. Just dumb, superficial time pass. As for what you said, I don't think Fargo and this movie has anything in common other than being R rated. Plus they are R rated for different reasons. Lastly, what I expect from a film critic is some kind of technical criticism. Quality of direction, cinematography, acting etc. If you're going to criticize a movie for not being politically correct and appropriate, this is obviously not the movie for that. You know... Everything in right time and place. OH and I'm dying to see them criticize similar aspects of Deadpool the same way but for some reason I'm pretty sure they won't do that.
I can't believe they left out the line where the gay black guy refers to, "those black guys from the other night!", they were at a party full of black people.
Probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I saw it on a friends house on Blu Ray. I didn't even waste any money, but I lost something more important: time.
This movie gets completely panned, but somehow, "Neighbors 2" and "Sisters" get good reviews, despite being equally predictive and vulgar. That shows a pro-feminist bias.
Damn this movie sucked! It was so stupid, it was like it was written by 8th grade boys in the locker room when no adults were around. "Ok, how about the drug dealer guy is in the jail too, but he is friends with the two cops, so they let him go right away and laugh about his drug business with him." "Oooo, and then the female cop puts Zach's phone down her pants and takes a picture of her bush." "Hahahaha!, Awesome." Every character they ran into was a cardboard joke with one punchline and were soooo unrealistic and stupid. And they inexplicably ran into these stupid characters repeatedly. Efron and DeNiro did their best and their characters were slightly more realistic due to the performances (Efron's love interest was ok too) but all the other characters we a big slice of hair-brained dumbness. I'm not sure what the good last scene that they were talking about in their review was. The sort of sex scene? The baby christening? STUPID! There were a couple ok laughs, but overall it was the worst movie I've seen in quite some time. I felt horribly for De Niro for being in this loser of a movie.
"I found their laughter disturbing"
ɷɷɷɷ I Haveee Watchedd This Movieee Leakedd Version Heree : - t.co/EQMyZQlo5e
I laughed hard at the critics consensus on rotten tomatoes: "Like a Werther's Original dropped down a sewer drain, Dirty Grandpa represents the careless fumbling of a classic talent that once brought pleasure to millions."
It's sad what has happened to De Niro the last few years. He is making a fool of himself.
+Sperminator10000 Maybe he's not ready to retire and this types of roles is all he can get these days.
+TheTaskmaster Nonsense. Silver Linings Playbook.
So was this as good as Taxi Driver?
+Damjan Plamenac Much better.
+Damjan Plamenac It makes Taxi Driver look like Dude Where's My Car?
pickinboogers4u - Or more like Freddy Got Fingered.
Hey.. I happen to like Freddy Got Fingered.
pickinboogers4u At least I saw the whole Dude, Where's My Car? movie .... Freddy Got Fingered ... I did not manage to see the whole movie.
However, I still like Tom Green.

WHAT THE F*CK IS DeNIRO DOING? I expect CRAP from Efron but BOBBY D.....NOOOOOooooooo!!!
I don't know why, but I find all of your movie reviews (even when I know that I have no intention of watching respective film) entertaining. For giving this serial procrastinator, a lighter for a cigarette addiction, many thanks for the videos WTF!
Soon De Niro will be in straight to Cable movies made by Adam Sander just collecting a pay check.
When i hear the talking about this movie, I ask myself if they are the worst film critics in history. That movie is a solid comedy
I find it funny that Christy said she felt like a loser seeing a movie in the middle of the day in an empty theater. To me it’s heaven when there’s no one else in the theater
Every clip played during this review is FUNNY. Go figure.
SoulStylistJukeBox Was that seriously funny to you? I'm surprised TYT even reviewed this.
ohhh robert, what did you do?
It's the honesty that makes me smile. You smile because it's honest, you laugh because it's true.
I laughed at the trailer, and "April" (Parks 'n Recreation) is totally hot. So, I really wanted this to be funny.
Ben's face at 0:21 sums up the hopeless disparaging shit that he saw in Dirty Grandpa.
I dont know what movie you guys were watching but this film was fucking hilarious. I loved it. I was laughing so hard from the beginning of the film till the end. I love how Ben always comes across as a sad loney guy crawling out to watch bad movies alone at night whenever he tells going to a movie stories
Sad to see what's happened to De Niro.
So... Less 'Bad Santa' and more 'Bad Teacher'?
what happened to robert deniro?? he is a great actor
+Diego Power That's a good question. If this was going to happen to anybody on this level I would have thought it would have been Nicholson who had his fair share of crappy movies in the early 90's. One of the funniest films I have seen.
You should see more films
Thank you all for sitting through this torturous movie for us, you really do love us! ^.^
By the way Alonso, you should bring Dave in more often (if he's free), he was great last week with Christie :)
Ben's reaction at 9:15 is perfect.
What the flick is just a massive bummer. It was a funny film
did you smoke crack?
gka';skerwer Yeah was great
The movie or the crack?
Joseph Howell both
The Graduate + Dirty Grandpa as a thumbnail Ugh, poor Dustin
Please tell me De Niro doesn't still go full method for all these movies he has been doing in the last 15 years, e.g. burying himself in research, staying in character down to the underwear, etc.
God, De Niro, couldn't you have just required after _Casino?_
+ohthepeppers
Stop typing on your smartphone.
+ohthepeppers
required... REQUIRED...
retired
+b1bbs g0t h4nds Actually He was in Jackie Brown, CopLand and Heat after Casino. So no he shouldn't have retired then.
no hassle why you reply this to me? the OP said he should "require". but meant retire. im the grammar police
b1bbs g0t h4nds woops sorry. I meant that one for ohthepeppers
"Like Charles Kuralt." That's a deep cut.
This is why I'm hoping De Niro gets to work on "The Irishman" with Scorsese!
So is anyone actively hunting down that 6% of critics who liked this movie?
I honestly thought that Dirty Grandpa was a Bad Grandpa sequel...
+NamesEvad ha ha ha. They are both cut from the same garbage bag.
How is De Niro's character anything like his character from Meet the Parents?
I'll be honest, the reason I will see this when it hits Redbox is because of Aubry Plaza. She is the only draw for me.
Does anybody else want to workshop a Bad Pope script?
Jeez relax you guys and try to let everything you know go and enjoy something every once in a while. You're criticizing an R rated comedy movie for being vulgar, racist, homophobic etc. ? Can Hüsrefoğlu You don't know what film criticism is. This explains everything.
So ur telling me the trailer is better than the actual film.........shocking
Bad Pope sounds like something Sacha Baron Cohen would make.
Is this the most wannabe-edgy film since Movie 43?
at least sean connery had the integrity to retire in the right time ..
I can't believe they left out the line where the gay black guy refers to, "those black guys from the other night!", they were at a party full of black people.
It's so delightfully embarassing for him when Ben gets uber-emphatic.
But if Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were in this, Alonso and Christy would be tripping over themselves to convince us it's FUNNY.
+SoulStylistJukeBox Yeah, no.
+zammmerjammer Don't be coy, tell me how you really feel.
Yes definitely
Since Ben found the last scene funny, shouldn't he really give it a 0.5
Didn't Johnny Knoxville just make a film called Dirty Grandpa?
You're thinking of Bad Grandpa
So so bad. There is literally one funny part where Deniro swings a golf club at Zac Efron (the way he does it is hilarious). And that's it. Boooooo!
10:50 Alonzo predicted The Young Pope
This is a unique and bizarrely cool cast, but it's really not that funny and really not that good of a movie all around.
if i live to be old as robert de niro i will be dirty grandpa
Billy Zabka, the real karate kid
A goose egg.
Probably one of the worst movies I have ever seen, and I saw it on a friends house on Blu Ray. I didn't even waste any money, but I lost something more important: time.
bad pope..now there's an idea.
WOW..."smoking crack" is hilarious
I lost respect for Deniro and Zefron ( who I actually like) after this film. What a desperate attempt at comedy..
Bad Pope... they made that movie. It's called the Pope Must Die.
#NoShade, but I would guess this movie isn't trying to reach this demographic.
This movie gets completely panned, but somehow, "Neighbors 2" and "Sisters" get good reviews, despite being equally predictive and vulgar. That shows a pro-feminist bias.
Haha HBO just came out of with a show called young pope which he does horrible things

Worst deNiro film ever? Come on! It can't be worse than Killing Season...
Review Anomalisa!
they did
I didn't like the movie at all... But you guys are always so pretentious sounding when you review movies. Do you guys like anything?
+Riley Grandson Maybe check out like ANY of their other reviews? Just off the top of my head, I know they gave "Room" a perfect 10.
first
"Party some babies into us"? Eeewww.
