Thank you. Day 3 using my C6 with Peloton App and I thought I must have the weakest muscles, I was feeling very deflated in my advanced beginner class. Now I'll use your conversion chart and actually have a starting point and enjoy the challenge. Sincerely appreciate the video and all of your effort!
You are a saint! I’ve been beating myself up for the last week because I was struggling trying to keep up with the resistance of the Peloton instructors. Thank you so much for this chart!
Omg you have saved me! I got my C6 this week and have been so demoralized trying to do the Peloton resistance levels. Thank you for the chart. Really appreciated!!
So glad I found your video! My brother has a peloton bike and was laughing at me because 25 resistance was such an issue for me. When Jen Sherman would tell me 90 cadence at 30 or 35 I wanted to scream! Advanced beginner rides were kicking the shit outta me. Hopefully now my rides will be much more enjoyable! Thanks Andrew
@@andrewhau Had my 1st ride last night with my conversion chart atop my tablet...wow what a difference and the Advanced Beginner Ride was actually enjoyable!! Thanks again
I found a little plastic bar with the conversion chart on Etsy, but after using it for two months now, I still feel the flywheel is too hard. It's my only complaint with the bike; I wish they'd make it easy to recalibrate it AND include instructions so we don't have to waste time on the phone with customer service. But thanks for doing these vlogs; it's helpful to know I'm not the only person who was working too hard at first!
Did my first bow flex ride today and yes felt very weak but I had a similar experience that when I went much higher, it didn’t seem as hard. I will use the chart. Super helpful!
I purchased this bike as and was very disappointed with the differences in resistance. I found that chart online and was using it for a few weeks but decided I wasn’t happy with the bike. It seems like there is a drag on the flywheel. I can tell you side by side comparison with the Bowflex and the Peloton those numbers are way off! Peloton is SO much easier and smoother at a 25 than even a zero on the Bowflex. I commend you for your efforts in trying to make it compatible!! Unfortunately after waiting 1.5 hours on hold for Nautilus customer service they said they are aware and manufacturers differ. It’s unfortunate they don’t see this as misleading marketing. Thank you again.
So glad I found your channel, Andrew. I got the C6 three weeks ago and started using the Peloton digital app and was having a really hard time with classes that are rated 6 and 7. I am new to spinning (Orangetheory pre-Covid) and was getting discouraged because I thought the instructor calling out 25 meant 25 on the C6 (100 levels must be the same as Peloton...) and I was struggling. Thank you! I am actually looking forward to riding when I get home.
Look at Etsy.com they sell a conversion decal etc which will definetly help u out. I m not certain exactly how they determined the various coefficients but presumably with a dynometer. The conversion is non linear
Thanks! Yes, there are many high quality decals with the conversion chart! Also I just created some stickers on Teespring with the chart too for people to stick on the bottom of the tablet/phone holder! Link in the description.
I find the C6 flywheel is more resistant than I expected it to be. However, I don't mind it. Before I got mine, I read many reviews that C6 was not resistant enough. I was pleasantly surprised that it was. Probably triathletes and pro-riders can use the heaviest resistance on the C6! Or once we get better stronger from riding A LOT the higher resistances will be no big deal ;)
Dude, thank you so much for the vid and for tying out the calibration process. I have an IC4 hopefully coming in this month, and i would love to get the resistance levels roughy similar to peloton! So far I haven’t found any solutions besides the conversion tables. I was actually going to cancel my order until I stumbled across the conversion table -I don’t care about the leaderboard or work output but I definitely a to the resistance to be comparable to the peloton workouts! Best of luck with customer service! It would be a dream come true to get a 1-100 resistance gradient that mirrors the peloton bike! I subbed and can’t wait to hear your updates in the future!
Andrew Au that’s such a relief to hear the conversion workaround is acceptable!! I’ll probably print it out and tape it to my bike once it gets here! My wife and I just had a baby and we can’t wait to get started working out with peloton and the IC4!
I got a Schwinn IC4. Same issue with the resistance. Even at 0 setting there is too much resistance. I work in the sub 10 when using peleton app for most things done while sitting.
Thanks for the review...I had seen the conversion chart, but even with that, after calibrating it seems way too hard. So, for the calibration...it says in the manual to set 100 percent, "slightly turn the flywheel while turning the resistance knob clockwise. Immediately stop turning the Resistance Knob when the flywheel is unable to turn." BUT, different people can turn the flywheel with one hand differently than others...I can still keep it moving a little longer than my wife. With only three calibrations and one left, I'll need a new sensor if I don't get it right the next time. Super frustrating! Otherwise, great bike...but if I feel like I can't follow the peloton workouts then it's not helpful.
Thats also why I just went with the conversion chart instead of trying to recalibrate again. I think it's the easiest way because it don't know the exact recalibration resistance level. Sorry it hasn't been easy for you
@@andrewhau Thanks, man...even with the conversion chart it was WAY too hard...I ended up recalibrating one last time and set the 1 and 100 % values to the extreme ends as much as possible and it's much better now. I think it's much more in line with the conversion chart!
The bowflex C6 and the Schwinn Ic4 are the same bike both made by parent company nautilus. Maybe contact Schwinn customer service instead. Sometimes you can find a slightly used Peloton near the price of a new bowflex

Jennifer Harris OMG. This has been so helpful. I have had such a nightmare experience with my bike and customer service. Now they keep replacing parts. The console. The engine. I have barely been able to use it for four months. Still! The fly wheel is far too resistant. Do you know what the caloric translation is too? It’s a total mind fuck trying to use apps with it so I just don’t even use the console. I kept telling the repair people - I know I am not that strong - but I am not that weak either! Ha. One guy jumped on it to see himself. It’s really made me reevaluate. I didn’t want a Peloton because I don’t need the screen but this bike is subpar. And getting through to someone has been challenging. .
I’m so sorry to hear that your experience hasn’t been great. The conversion chart has been the best solution for my household! Unfortunately I do not know the caloric conversion but I also don’t think that conversion is necessary either. The Apple Watch integration has been the best for me - I don’t use the console much either bc of that.
I wish! But unless Bowflex sees this comment and reply (Hey Bowflex! 😀) and sends me a review unit of the Velocore, I don't think we'll be getting the new bike anytime soon.
I think the best way to create a conversion chart would be to test a peloton bike at a set cadence (say 50 rpm) and check the wattage for each resistance level (say every 5 or 10 points in resistance). Then use the wattage and same cadence to back into a resistance for the IC4. I have a coworker with a peloton and will see if he can give me those figures.
@@WinnCollier yes! I joined a Facebook group of IC4/C6 owners and many there have done the same conversion. There are detailed instructions on many posts there but the 25-50 peloton resistance converts to 3-23 on my IC4. Conversion varies per bike too. I also went through the process of releasing the magnet (it apparently can get “stuck” during transportation and mine was stuck) and lastly, recalibrated the resistance knob too. A lot of steps but nothing was difficult. The result is that my bike finally pedals well. Yea, I’ve always wondered that myself. I’m not completely sure how the mileage gets calculated and if the increased resistance factors into mileage calculations? Sorry I don’t have a more direct answer than that.
