The vacuum pump automatically takes the right things when it is close enough to the entrances to the packing station. You can see this when the entrances to the packing station open slightly. To the people who say he is cheating: I don't think he cheated but if it is, it's his game. He can decide how he wants to play the game. Just like with the water system and everything else. It is his game, he can decide how he plays it. If you don't like that you shouldn't watch the videos. My opinion. It's annoying when people want to dictate how someone should play the game.
Steamy I agree cause if cheating in oil (if that’s even what he’s doing) is making the game more enjoyable by allowing him to actually do fun things for these videos instead of just having to grind for oil all the time. So if it’s making the videos more enjoyable for both him and us then I don’t think we have the right to get angry at him for cheating (this is all a big *if,* I’m not accusing him of cheating).
For some reason, my vacuum pump won't automatically go inside the station. I get close to it, the green arrow on the station turns blue and the "door" opens, but it won't take anything out. It's a little annoying
Fun fact; Gas engines are either on or off and when off they lock the bearings, electric engines are always on meaning they’ll run down your batteries even when not in use.
If the vacuum pump touches the input, it will automatically send out the specific food even if its mixed along with other foods. There is no wasting crops when packing them. Notice that there are 7 'bars' to be filled but you need to put 10 veggies inside the machine to start te packing. So 3 veggies are put inside the machine without resulting in a bar added on the display. It's not a bug, it's a feature
Honestly I just laugh at the fact that I can carry hundreds of fruit in a chest, but then I have to "pack" them into these huge crates that only hold 10 each. Seems back-ass-wards to me.
I don't think its the bearings draining the battery. I have a similar problem with the gas engines, when they are shut off the gas still drains out slowly. I think the problem comes from a bug in the code. There is quite a bit that the devs need to work on with this mode. its still a lot of fun.
i have a suggestion for the watering system, instead of putting the water cannons in a bearing connected to an electric motor that consumes batteries, i think is better use a controller in loop connected directly to the driver saddle, and put the conttroller in a setting that you would like
Just got this game few days ago, also just realised I watched a lot of your videos, you are very entertaining to watch to. very relax and nice. Thanks for the videos.
Why not add steering left and right for the water turret? :D if you plan to make the farm bigger. Also, if you place the walls horizontally, it will take longer time for farmbots to get to the crops because of the distance, its also cheaper than layers upon layers of walls. But I guess that wouldn't work with the crusher defense. When farming broccoli or pinapple, use fertilizer because it takes 2 days or more for them to grow.
The reason why you “wasted” the tomato there it’s because if you’re not close enough to the opening it will only shoot the first crop in the chest, but if you came closer you should see the entrance opening a bit and then you will know it will only shoot in the right crop
If you can get your hands on one, try setting up an AND gate, and have one connection to a button or switch and the other to the power system. Hopefully, while the button isn't pressed the power isn't allowed to interact with the bearings, and therefor won't use power? Unless the AND gate takes a constant supply of power, it's worth a try. If not, maybe use a controller, or try hooking a button to the power, then daisy chain it to the bearings? Or hook the bearings to the seat?
I'm not sure how I feel about crusher defenses, even without a lift involved. They're overwhelmingly powerful and require little effort or resources, which is a problem if the devs want raids to be a major part of the game. On the other hand, there aren't many other great alternatives, in part because of how resources and both pathing work, especially before you get spud guns. Maybe also include some minor terrain manipulation, like digging a moat.
