    Great review mates, it was very entertaining and gives exactly the feel of the game. I'm expecting my to arrive tomorrow, and will be used with my group as what you described drinking bear and talking between turns. Just by watching you play I'm sure the game will sloth in and we'll be playing it regularly. I'm going to watch the bonus gameplay now, keep up the great videos. :)

    Nice! One of my favorite light games. Any chance you guys would want to do a Resistance game? Maybe Resistance Avalon with the special hidden roles?

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  10 лет назад

      Zach, we actually sat down and just filmed a bunch of hidden role games a few weeks back. The Resistance Avalon was one of the ones we played to try and show Kara how hidden role games worked. It ended up being a hilarious blowout for the evil players in 3 separate games because for some reason the evil players AND Merlin were the same people in all 3 games. It made it so hard to read people by the 3rd game because NO ONE suspected the same 2 guys to be evil again!
      Needless to say it kind of came off as a sub-optimal display of the game so we're going to probably go for it again in sometime in the near future. Oh, and we're also planning a video of our all-time favorite hidden role game...Battlestar Galactica :)

      Red Mage Well, I used to play a lot (600 or so games total). But the rest of the guys, Brian, Jeremy, Isaac, and Chris are all still into it and play pretty often.

      Board Game Replay I should've stayed in NA (assuming that's where you guys play), my friends in OCE call me Super Sona when I play. Because I can play Sona in a solo lane and destroy anyone.
      My prediction if I play:
      Announcer: Sona is unstoppable!
      Isaac: Wooooow(tm)

    never played a bang game before. Should i get the original bang, bang the dice game, or samurai sword?

  • @FarkyJ
    @FarkyJ 10 лет назад +1

    I like your concept of review and gameplay.You got a nice group.for the game.Dice bang is nice but you need it to play with 6 people at least.My group consist of 4-5 and people it doesnt work well for it.Sheriff needs to reveal thats one player down.Its a great game but probably better suited for parties and schools.If you have 4-5 group king of tokyo is better to go.Or avalon or coup.
    Question.Will you buy the new Sons of Anarchy game from gf9 since you really like spartacus?

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  10 лет назад

      Thanks for the kind words! I definitely agree in that the game plays best with 6+ players. I do still think it can be fun at other player counts, just not optimal :)
      As for Sons of Anarchy, I've seen the announcements for the board game but I honestly know nothing about the show! We do really enjoy Spartacus from GF9 so if Sons of Anarchy shares some of that feel it may very well be something we enjoy. We'll just have to wait and see I guess!

    , could the vice not shoot the gatling at the sheriff?

    Are you just playing house rules with the dynamite? Aren't you supposed to end your turn and not use the rest of your rolls if three dynamite are rolled?

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  9 лет назад +1

      When you roll 3 dynamite you have to stop rolling, but you still resolve the other dice you've rolled so far. Was there a point in the video where we kept rolling after 3 dynamite?

    To me it looks like the Roles(Vice,Outlaw) are practically impossible to hide. There is almost no way to "bluff" or fake a role past the first rounds with a beer or two.
    What are your experiences with that?

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  9 лет назад +1

      +CoB Tyrannon It can be tricky for sure. When I play those roles I'll usually fire a shot at an ally or a beer at an enemy just to spread confusion.

    Hey, guys! Before my doubts, great video(s)! Really helpful in watching the mechanics of the games, specially the comments and conclusions.. Here is my doubt: why you do not talk to each other in trying to convince your role? Is it not allowed? Only the on of you (by mistake) told that was the Vice.. since than you only insinuated your roles by your actions (hey, ai am giving you beer)... Welll is it alowed to talk abou your role (of course, not showing the card, just like The resistance...)

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  8 лет назад +1

      +Felipe Amaral hey, thanks for checking out the video! To answer your question, you're actually allowed to say whatever you want during the game. Meaning that you can tell the truth, lie or misdirect as much as you want in regards to what your role might be. I'm not sure exactly why we didn't speak up more about our roles, but we certainly have in other games. One of the differences with this game compared to the original Bang! or other hidden role games is that your role this one is usually revealed pretty quickly. It's such a fast game that most roles (aside from the Renegade) are somewhat known within a round or two.

  • @tbspaceship
    @tbspaceship 9 лет назад

    So let's be honest here, is this game good with 4 or even 3 players or does it shine at 5 and up? Because I usually have a small group and the game looks like a lot of fun, but I don't feel like it would be that good with less players.

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  9 лет назад +1

      +tbspaceship I think the game can still be fun for 3 or 4 players, but it definitely does shine with 5 or greater. I think this is mainly because the mystery of who has what role takes a little bit longer to figure out, as well as allows for more table talk. Part of the fun is throwing accusations around, helping teammates or slowing down enemies. All of that just works a little better when you have more people at the table.

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  10 лет назад +1

      Haha it's hard to say actually. Chris is always known for trying to mess with our heads doing things like that. We've played so many games where he's claimed one thing at the start, but ended up being something else. It's become a regular thing so we really never know whether he's telling the truth, lying to us, or just screwing up :P

  • @dealerovski82

    Its a vey strange rule that the outlaws can win even if they are eliminated after only the deputies and renegade are left alive. I would think the renegade should win in that situation.

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  10 лет назад

      Sorry, I must have missed this comment way back when you made it Daniel. Yum X's response was right though, the end game conditions for the Renegade are by design. The Renegade creates a kind of semi-cooperative element which is a lot of fun, especially when there's multiple Renegades AND Deputies.

    Are you supposed to reveal the roles when people die? I don't think you are supposed to until the end of te game

    • @boardgamereplay
      @boardgamereplay  9 лет назад

      Yep you're supposed to show your role when you die. In the rules it says "If you lose your last life point, you are out of the game. Show your role to all players and discard all your arrows." Hope that helps! :)

    • @calebdesjardins616
      @calebdesjardins616 9 лет назад

      Thanks man it does. I think it might a cool house rule to nt show it just so that it won't be as easy to deduce who is who using process of elimination. Just a thought.
