I'm 7 minutes into the rules and already sick of this game.

Fallout was going to be based on GURPS until they fell out... and they went SPECIAL
There are a couple of rules that were broken which is fine since this is clearly their first time playing. I'll list them so others know it when it comes up for a smoother game.
1. They had people level up the moment they got their first xp. Actually the peg needs to reach the end of the board for it to count as a level up. You're first xp's don't count as an automatic level up.
2. A player must meet a specific requirement in order for them to acquire certain companions. Example, they showed Cait in the game. In the top right corner of the card it showed a pitboy with horns. Meaning that in order for you to acquire Cait you need to be vilified. Currie was the same but had a different requirement. In the top right it showed I. That means you needed the intelligence token to be on your board to acquire her.
3. When you are shopping and you wish to sell an item the number on the top right of the card shows its value. However, when selling it you subtract 1 cap from that value. Example, Ivan sold day tripper which has a value of 3 caps. However, since he's selling it he'd only get back 2 caps.
4. Encounter is the only action that you are not allowed to take twice. You can only encounter once per turn.
5. If there are multiple players at exactly the same distance from an enemy while it's moving that enemy is to move to the person with the lowest HP. If more than one of those players has the same amount of HP then out of those players the one who went the earliest is targeted. So that ghoul would have actually gone after the group instead of Becca because Ivan has the lowest HP.
6. When fighting an enemy we know that each of the stars represents a hit. However, there's more to it. Each star that appears on the die is actually equal to the enemies level. Example, Becca fought a Mr. Gutsy at 1:05:00. The Mr. Gutsy is a level two. When Becca rolled she took 4 hits. Mean that each on of those four hits is worth 2 damage points. So she actually took 8 points of damage from that fight.
7. When a tile is revealed after exploring and there's an enemy marker on it. The enemy token is actually placed face up rather than face down. Enemy tokens are only placed face down when putting an enemy token after the previous enemy has been killed and replaced.
That's more than a couple of rules broken, lol
can you camp twice?
Enemy times may be placed down if not killed in a fight and the enemy has a retreat special property. Like the rad roach.
Good grief. What rules did they get right?
Quick note for anyone learning the game who stumbles across this:
Leveling occurs once the XP marker reaches the right-most SPECIAL token you have. Meaning if you only have SP, leveling is pretty quick, while having a luck token maxes out the time to level up.
And just a last thing, the XP tracker doesn't start in the first hole, but rather next to the board to represent having 0 XP
Big rules mistake. Enemies on explored tiles are placed face-up.

I would love to see a good group like this replay it with the Atomic Bonds expansion. I have watched this episode a few times now, and I just need to play the game again. I partially use this episode (and the rules intro) to refresh my memory on how to play.

I appreciate the way in which they tried to manage the complexity of the game, and incorporation of the fluff on every step. Distilling something as complicated as a Fallout game down to a board game that plays this well is pretty impressive. Also This is definitely one there better board game videos.

Did I misread the rules? As far as I know enemies come aktive (faceup) into play when exploring a tile with an enemy symbol, aren't they?
yes, you are right, they play in the wrong way
Error at 13:40 : the enemy must be "faceup" when the map tile is returned faceup.
Error at 46:05 : the enemy dont have an agressive symbol, so it cant attack the survivor when he is returned faceup.
An other one at 1:15:15 : if the enemy dont have the aggressive symbol when he (it) is activated, there is no combat.
Pretty sure there was an error when the ghoul got the Curie companion because he was vilified and didn't meet the requirement of the companion
Also, you shouldn't show off your inventory. Cause what if your fellow players are of a different faction? Equipped items are public info.

When an enemy is first spawned through exploration, it appears face up ... not face down.

During the first part of the game, the Ghoul couldn’t have gotten the companion

But... don't you take the number of hit symbols TIMES the monster level in damage? So 3 hit markers times a lvl2 monster equals 6 damage?
Fnoffen No, that's incorrect. You take one damage per hit symbol. The level only affects the creature's hp. Say their lvl is 3, well you'd then need 3 or more vats die hits to kill said creature. But to reiterate, thier lvl doesn't affect thier damage.
Kosuma Hedden I went to check the rules and found the following in the Rules Reference on page 7, section FIGHT subsection 3:
"For each hit (💥) shown on the dice, the survivor suffers damage equal to the level of the enemy. Before suffering the damage, reduce the total number of 💥 by the armor value of all armor the survivor has equipped."

So glad I Finally found a channel and people who share my passion for table top games. Becca is great. Yes I love my video games to, but there is something to be said about the table top experience.
Also Fantasy Flight I think has some of the best in the business. Their components are top notch and have a large catalog of great games.

Hi guys, this is super fun,but you are making lots of mistakes playing the game (rules, not bad decisions..) and I'm only 24 minutes in..
For example Curie does judge, and will only go with an Idolized player
Also, when flipping a tile, an enemy is placed faceup
That accounts also for tiles placed face up on setup
Moving on, Fighting Mister Gutsy, 3 hit marks should have caused 6 damage for every mark yields damage equals to the enemy level, which was 2, also, Mister Gutsy has range symbol, shooting from an adjacent tile, which gives another hit...
Becca couldn't have taken Cait because she wasn't vilified
I would have thought that since this isn’t a video game, Bethesda or whoever published this tabletop version of Fallout would have done a better job at making the artwork look more appealing. I guess they really wanted to make the board game look as lo-res as the real thing.

Live was a lot better. Taped speeds through a lot of the dead air and bad camera cut-tos. However, I feel a lot of the fun of Game the Game is gone with the edited version.

Star represents Railroad because of the current Map (each scenario uses Star vs Shield) look at the Objective card and fine print, to see the value of Star (railroad agent)

Format for this show could take some hints from tabletop, the beginning explanation is just soo long for this video!
StudlyMare well. It’s only this long because it ties directly to the how to play series. So she has to explain every rule, rather than just explaining the basics and saying the more complex rules later if they apply in the game

Good playthrough experience. Lots of errors though, as other commentators already said. Actually, my 2 cents worth, I would suggest adding some of your own rule changes to make the game closer to the video game experience. Think of it as flavor experience. Doesn't really affect the game too much, unless you're a stickler for winning. I find playing with people who don't know FO requires a little hand holding.
I think allegiance agenda cards should allow you to choose allegiance, rather than having to hope for the one for the faction you've been aiding the whole time

Are hits by enemies not counted as "number of hits x enemy level = hp loss"? They did it as "number of hits = hp loss". I might be wrong but I thought that was how it was supposed to be done?
This is the worst, most uncomfortable table for board games that i have ever seen.
I just want to know what the heck is up and to the left of camera that they (mostly Joseph) can't stop looking at. CSPAN? Sportsball? It must have been riveting.
It is specified in the rule book that monsters spawn ''face up'' in each revealed tiles... Dont know why you guys keep putting them face down
I just feel like this lacks the heart of the original tabletop, nothing against this show tho. Just seems like they are always looking to the camera and playing for us instead of just playing and having fun
The shape of the table adds to that. They're all seated in an arc aiming at the camera instead of at a normal table looking at each other. :/

Did you know that you can literally DIE in real life playing this game? On one page in the rules it says, when "you" are mentioned, there is no distinction between the "player" and the "character" - they are the same in these rules. Then on another page it says when your health reaches zero you are killed. Woah.
This is my first time watching game the game. Is this really it??? If time runs out for the show, the game just ends??? I wasted almost an hour and a half just to be told we are out of time.... really....

This is the first video I've watched since TableTop. Wow, it is awful. The host is overly enthusiastic and the guests are trying too hard to have fun. It doesn't feel genuine. TableTop felt like some people just hanging out and having fun together.
Always fun playthroughs and table dynamics. However, this one (and the same is valid for the how to play video) is uncomfortable for me because of the sound levels, the music is way too loud, to the point that I miss some of what is being said. Shame.

Damn Those rules are Pretty bad. I would suggest quests and battle be more like the vault mobile game Where your party visits a location to collect loot, complete objectives and kill baddies and then have the option to trade after a Quest

Why the hell did I watch this for 80 min and there is no game ending or winner? stupid..
what really bothers me is, that RAD-level goes from left to right. Why not just flip it? RAD as a RED marker, limits your max HP from the right sight. Ive seen that before, in ... in the video game fallout 4.
This is a poorly constructed and overly complicated game
Guys! They turned the board game into a video game!
I feel like you guys really missed an opportunity here with this game. This is definitely a longer, enriching game to experience, and as such, you should have turned this into a 3 or 4 part miniseries just for this one game. Also, as others have mentioned, you got a lot of the rules wrong, which you could have circumvented with a "rules check" icon just like you did with all of the other icons you flashed on screen. It could even have been made fun where you freeze frame on "rules check" and then when coming back, you were in a different position.
Lastly, granted I'm coming from a biased point of view, playing this game myself, but the fact that no one died, or camped because of health, should have been a, uh, dead giveaway that combat was being done wrong. Just a tip for the future, but if the game is too easy or too hard, double-check the rules as you might be doing it wrong (I also learned this from the Aliens Legendary game).
The show is improving. I'm willing to keep watching to see if it keeps it up.

An activated enemy with Ranged that is adjacent to a player will attack, not move into the player's space, during the Enemy Activation phase. If an activated enemy moves into a player's space, it will attack.
Afinati actually, an activated enemy will only attack a player that's in it's space when it activates. It only attacks when it moves into a player's space if it has the aggressive trait.
If it doesn't have the aggressive trait, then when it moves into a player's space it doesn't attack that turn.
With ranged attack, if enemy is already faced up and activated from an adjacent tile, enemy will attack.

Poor Becca. Half the time it feels like she is dragging a dead horse with these often visibly bored guests. Don't like gaming? GTFO. Why have barely famous guests anyway? A fun group of regulars would be much preferred.

Good playthrough, but you did make a few rule mistakes. But we can't really blame you for that, since Fantasy Flight were all high when they wrote them. Those rulebooks are horrible
Anders Thomsen actually not that bad of a rule book, my group's first play was mistake free. But we read them both and did not watch a video full with mistakes..
Tamir Aloush can I ask you about weapons? Can you use the ability of the weopon, even if you don’t have the SPECIAL letters for re roll?
Yosimar Sanchez yes, the weapons are good for their ability, plus rerolls if you have the required characteristic (SPECIAL)
Requirements only show on the upper right corner of the companions. Weapons have no requirements to use.
That rulebook that comes with the game is basically toilet paper. You can't possibly play this game only using those primitive rules.
@@tamiraloush7236 That seems subjective, as I'm sure the people in this video thought they followed the rules 100% until they had a bunch of people point them out. I'm sure you made some mistakes, but they didn't ruin the experience of playing the game.
I loved watching this (my first play-thru of yours)! I can totally see my group playing this game. I noticed that the 1st player only changed once during your game. Wasn't it supposed to change at the end of each turn? Great fun! And well done!
I think the first player changes only when the last agenda card is drawn, and a new agenda deck is shuffled and passed to the player on the right of the first player.
Y’all should play again but add the expansion pack!

A personal thank you to everyone i the video for explaining how to play and a bigger thank you for everyone in the comments section for correcting the wrong things and adding what they missed. I think I've got a pretty good handle on it now after watching and reading, now it's time to teach my friends how to play and what we've been doing wrong the whole time!
