after 50th playthrough library becomes your favorite. now its a wonderful arcadestyle blasting level and i sometimes boot up the game just to play that level. enemies are coming up from everywhere including behind you unlike in other levels and you are shooting all the time everywhere. flood is so feral enemy they are mostly lunging toward but there are enough gun wielders to make you run and take cover. its the horde/firefight level inside a campaign. its not the prettiest or storywise most impactful level but the darkness and small mood lights fit it perfectly.
Sums it up perfectly. The Library is just not understood. Everyone's a baby camping in the back as soon as they see one flood coming towards them, or gets fed up and suicides 100 times into the horde, ending up wasting half an hour. If you are skilled you know how to create an opening and start running while screaming, with the adrenaline pumping like crazy every minute, it's such a blast, different than all the other levels. Sometimes I arrive at the end wishing it was longer, especially on legendary. You just have to git gud and not die more than once or twice. I bet some peope don't even think it is possible to die less than 10 times in a whole legendary playthrough without cheesing.

Halo CE was the first game i completed on the hardest mode so many times it became too easy, so i looked to online PvP for the first time for a new challenge. Being a teenager playing Blood Gulch on dial up are still some of my favourite memories. Good times. Halo 1 still holds up imo and i love replaying them with the MCC now having everything in one place. back when it first came out my computer's graphics card was pretty old and had a weird issue where it couldn't render the invisibility properly in PvP or in the campaign, so any invisible players/enemies it would render as a bright blue flat texture which made them the exact OPPOSITE of invisible lol. It certainly made the invisible sword wielding elites less stealthy. Oh and yes to this day i still remember the PAIN of The Library on Legendary. But it's so worth completing on legendary for the butt grab from Sarge on the Elite. Back before you could just look up the secret ending cutscenes on youtube.

I legitimately can't tell if this is a shitpost. It's neat in concept alone, but even the devs said something along the line of the mission goes on for 30 minutes too long. It's just one hallway and infinite enemies. Not even trying to call you out or anything I just don't see what redeems this.
The Library is one of the best levels especially on legendary. It plays like no other level, it fills you with constant adrenaline, rushing through the unknown screaming in terror as a shotgun flood spawned near you, you never know what to expect until you fully commit. Most people just don't feel confident and start camping in the back till the spawns stop making the level much longer and repetitive than it really is when played well. You have to send it and run as soon as you create an opening, your heart will start pounding every minute, the opposite of boring. Plus the constant pressure of slowly depleting your shotgun ammo and resources... Most people haven't reached the skill to properly enjoy this game.
I can see why people hate it so much, but personally I really enjoy it. Not only for the comedic element of an entire level dedicated to breaking the player from the inside, but it’s a pulse-pounding adrenaline rush that just scratches that itch that few zombie games ever could.
I am honestly surprised there are so many people here with shit spatial reasoning and complain about getting lost in Halo (of all games) It is a game the children can beat, on max difficulty, and they dont even get that mad
With Infinite being how it is, I kind of want them to go back and try their hand at remaking the first 3 games in the same engine Infinite uses. Also, they could make things like the Library level less repetitive and cancerous.
Have you played the MCC versions? I know it's not a proper remake, but H:CE and H2 are beautifully remastered both with visuals and audio. They really did a great job with it.
@@stadce I mean, Halo 2 looks pretty. But Halo CE is just the Reach stuff. Which, as much as I may have liked Reach. It wasn't my favorite artstyle for the pre-343 games. Also, a texture swap doesn't exactly cover what I'm wanting. They fixed a few bugs and made most of it playable on PC. But they didn't really improve the campaign or the level design, or add things like higher player counts or bigger maps that a remake could do.

Library was one of the hardest ones for me in heroic
I remember playing Halo: CE multiplayer online using XB Connect since Xbox Live wasnt around yet. So long ago
I am honestly surprised there are so many people here with shit spatial reasoning and complain about getting lost in Halo (of all games)
It is a game the children can beat, on max difficulty, and they dont even get that mad
The Library is unironicaly my favorite level in CE.
@@stadce Halo 2 maybe, but CE's remake is a disgusting Reach asset rip.
@@piranhaplantX I played 1-4 in order, then Reach and ODST. Having not played any of them in years, I didn’t notice it was reach assets.
It's bad enough that Infinite exists, I'd rather not have all of my good memories of the game tainted.
I just went through Halo c with a buddy yesterday and I got to say with another person there it's not as much of a b******* experience especially since we weren't on legendary but at the same time you know the library isn't that bad it's the area to betrayals right after the library that's the most b******* f****** level we got turned around three f****** times because my buddy for some f****** reason didn't listen to me when I said the arrows that showed us the way the first time are now wrong and we need to follow them in the opposite direction that they're pointing but after that whole BS we finally got to the end of the game and finished it so yeah that's probably the quickest time I've beaten Halo CE
I used to play Library on legendary with my friend all the time back in the day
Thought it was a lot of tense fun
They "showed" johns face in the books. And subsequent movie.
Halo was a good game, until the fire nation attacked.
I played halo ce for the first time like a year ago, and i legit thought i was being pranked when i played the library
You haven't completed any Halo game until you've beaten it on Legendary.
Only Rockets/Grenades Multiplayer was epic
3:12 Nah, that's Durandal's job, not Cortana's.
The dead spoke finally
Why do you kill the Marines? 💔🥺
the roach joke was good
The library kinda sucks but it really makes the flood feel like an endless unstoppable horde that you just barely make it through on the first play through.
Now time for Cursed Halo CE
Now, I wanna be offended, but you ain’t wrong
wow they added d day in halo
I was never a fan of halo, one day I decided to try this game 2 years ago. It was pretty fun and rather challenging, thankfully, I'll never have to play it again
