The most important lesson in this whole video: Turkey goes gobble gobble. Chickens go cuckoo. Great video though. Really helped me with figure drawing :)
Haha yeah! Your blocking technique really did help me though..I cant wait to post my speedpaint video that I did with the blocking(or well the sketch that the blocking helped me make) ^^
For me, the most usefull think when doing poses from ym imagination is actually thinking about what the person is doing(running, jumping) etc, instead of drawing blindly without any plan. This video is very usefull and informative, plus all the more "silly" parts are not distracting at all, they are very enjoyable and they help to reatin information better :) Good job ahmed ! Ps. there's a lot of people saying that you should start from head, torso, legs, but at the end, it's just personall prefereation imo. I'd love to see some traditional sketching and design videos form you , because that's what I'm struggling with the most. Keep up the good work !
Ramble on! Every video contains insight (random words of wisdom) that I didn't understand fully or that I didn't know I was already applying. Thank you!
I love your videos! I've only seen a couple but I've been trying anatomy for about a week or two now and I've seen myself get better because of the block technique you made a video on!
Hey Man! Just wanted to say that I love the way you can teach so much in one video and still keep it casual and fun. These are the videos that you can watch until the end without getting bored and learn a lot really fast. I also enjoy your work. Good motivation! Keep it cool man!
I love the High/Low Speed, Chit Chat, Elevator Ride approach to your videos! lol! Highly informative on the short trip to the 21st floor! Great stuff! I'd love to see a video on how you make your videos!
Great lines @ 13:15 & beyond.."I'm not sitting here and INVENTING IT...etc. etc."it's all from referencing it...I'm not some 'magic artist or something..' Thanks for saying that, Ahmed... I think there are way too many people that think it's all some kind of 'gift' that OTHER people have, as if you found it under your pillow. You can roll out these nice graceful, confident line because you learned, long ago, that repetition is the mother of mastery - as a kid you had the DESIRE to draw like the guy(s) who did Spiderman, etc. Too many people find out they liked THE IDEA of drawing, or playing the guitar or whatever, and when they realize it's all a project for a lifetime - Anyway, I'm rambling :-) Thanks for the videos - they're instructive and you combine just the right amount of patter and elaboration to make it all human and fun.
I just found your channel, and I really love your style and how you explain everything. Thanks for taking the time for posting videos. I just followed you on twitch, I can't wait to see you draw live!
I really wanna thank you! Even though I already knew a bunch of stuff about drawing and anatomy before watching your videos, the things you explained helped me so much! My pose drawings are way better now, THANKS!
Thank you for these anatomy vids! I've got several books, all very informative but it's too much info all at once. I find myself thinking, what are the salient bits, how little can I know to be able to get the basics of a person done, then when I can do the basics I can start going through the books and learning exactly which muscle is which. The boxes and seeing you sketch a few out helps no end. Again, thank you for such informative vids, I'm appreciative in the most intense and creepy of ways, thank youuuuuu!
I cant take anymore, Ahmed is just too damn cool. The whole bit with the chicken, what a likeable personality. Oh also he is a great teacher, and now I am about to spend a fantastic amount of money to get back into art... Cheers Ahmed, I have subscribed.
This is literally one of the best vidoes I've seen and it's helped me with my poses soo much. (I also learned lots of my skill from drawing Spiderman a lot!!! I was so jazzed when you said that!!!) Thanks for this video, I look forward to finding more videos from you!
Yet another good video. Ahmed, you really have a talent for teaching and keeping the video interesting. Why not go the Gumroad route? It's a little oversaturated right now, but you've got something unique on your hands with your teaching style.
almost forgot i was watching a tutorial LOL liked the little stories very interesting as it helped me focus more on what is your doing in a fun way but it was effectively helpful
you're tutorials are so fun and useful to watch, although i only watched a few of them, i was having troubles with art block and proportions and just drawing as if i cant draw anymore xD I'm gonna practice these as soon as i can, thank you !!
Clicked for the tutorials. Stayed for the humor. I mean, seriously, I really love your commentary in your videos, unlike in some tutorials where their voice is almost static (also, I'm about to try that blocking method because I barely have any creative imagination).
The chicken is the best omg I hope that you make a video of different body types cause I find it hard drawing curvy, chubby and midget people Also different age groups from babies to elderly Just some ideas if you ever want to make a video but don't know what to film Thanks for these videos super helpful
sometimes I start with the legs, because idk... just drawing legs is "more comfortable" for me, don't know why. Today I discover that isn't too silly. Thank you so much, from Italy
I've never really done studies, I am always too lazy, but that's probably the reason for any mistakes I make when drawing from mind. When I use references, my drawings do turn out much better. The reference doesn't need to be the correct pose, it just needs to show me the shape of the thing and any properties and details I wouldn't have imagined. Basically, to summarise, chickens are the best animal.
Hey you should do a video showing your art progression from like your childhood! I'd like to see what your art was like from like young all the way to about now or fairly recent! Idk it sounds cool
Ooooh man, so much fun! I wish I could feel that way when I draw... usualy I get sad or pissed off... I dunno, but it's getting hard to like something, u know? D: Anyways, thanks for the amazing vid, srsly, lovely! haha
Loved the chicken :D so cute! I like the gobble gobble sound better though, not that in Germany the chickens nor the turkeys would make that sound, but onomatopoeias are hilarious in every language :) If you want to do another poses video, maybe next time you can do interaction poses. couple poses or fighting poses -stuff like that. would be great to see how with intertwined figures the position of the boxes changes/what is good to know or to look out for...
I have a question. How do you go about backgrounds? whenever i draw a character i usually put it on a white background, then when i go to make an actual background the color shows through the skin ans stuff, then i have to go in with a white paintbrush to fill in those spots behind the figure. Is there a way to make a copy of the figure that is purely white or how does one fix this?
Hey awesome job Ahmed! Thank you! could you try to make more body types though? for exemple how do you make a fat character out of a skinny ref ? or a muscular one? thanks for making amazing content like this !!
I'm 13 and I hear so many people say they regret not learning anotomy when they were my age So I decided I'm gonna spend a lot more time on proportions and stuff I can do a torso just fine but I find it hard to draw calves But this video has helped so much thank you!
You're so silly. Love that! I'm just a beginner trying to start somewhere, your videos are pretty didatic, gonna watch some of them for sure. Liked and subscribed!!! Keep it up.
What program are you using? It looks good with a lot of options. I'm a beginner filmmaker and like to draw myself. Though with the hands. But I like to learn how to do it on the pc. So I can do more with it in terms of storyboard. How can I get my hands on it? If I at all can get it? Or if there is a better one now. Maybe a free software that's close to good enough?
Good video. Just one correction, George Bridgman is spelled without the "e", not Bridgeman but Bridgman. I like your technique and it inspires me to get back to practicing traditional 2D art after working as a 3D artist for a long time. The two are closely tied together and complement each other. I think one important lesson I learned from you is not to be perfectionist and be playful and silly with my art, and mess around a lot. You make it fun!
You like to draw fast or not in particular? I mean I know that when I sketch something I'm not always fast but change a lot the time in which you do a draw, not 'cause the time itself is important, but 'cause change the style of the drawing. Maybe 'cause there is less time to think.. you are fast? What you think about this topic?
In one of your videos you talked about stiffness when drawing figures using boxes, I'm kinda having this problem, any tips to avoid this stiffness feeling? You sometimes didnt use the boxes at all because of this reason but I feel that if I dont use them I cant sense the 3D feeling within the picture...
Poses, anatomy, chicken, Bridgeman and hobbit feet... So many subjects in one video, haha great work!
I'm a simple man, I see chicken, I click like.
Hydra that was a year ago lmao also why you gotta kill his vibe
This could have been the very post that gave birth to the meme.
Is that from castlevania
"checkout my chicken" - Ahmed Aldoori 2015
The most important lesson in this whole video:

Great video though. Really helped me with figure drawing :)
+ShiShi nailed it!
Haha yeah! Your blocking technique really did help me though..I cant wait to post my speedpaint video that I did with the blocking(or well the sketch that the blocking helped me make) ^^

I finally found my guru!!! Thank you very much Ahmed for sharing these videos with us.
I love how free and fun your videos are! Keep up the great work! I feel like they teach a lot of useful information as well.
i love how funny you are during your videos honestly sometimes i just watch your video for entertainment and nice art
funny and frank... alot nicer than most tutorials on the net with their loud musc or rambling narrators...
Hey Man! Just wanted to say that I love the way you can teach so much in one video and still keep it casual and fun.

This is what I was searching for. A lot of tutorial videos miss the "chicken". Great Video.
Subscribed. Your gestures and anatomy are spot on. And your tutorials were quite helpful
I love the High/Low Speed, Chit Chat, Elevator Ride approach to your videos! lol! Highly informative on the short trip to the 21st floor! Great stuff! I'd love to see a video on how you make your videos!

There's something I like about your lessons and I love your art style. Subbed.
I just found your channel, and I really love your style and how you explain everything. Thanks for taking the time for posting videos. I just followed you on twitch, I can't wait to see you draw live!

Ahmed, thanks! This really helped me walk face first into accidentally drawing well!
This is literally one of the best vidoes I've seen and it's helped me with my poses soo much. (I also learned lots of my skill from drawing Spiderman a lot!!! I was so jazzed when you said that!!!) Thanks for this video, I look forward to finding more videos from you!
I love how awkward you are. It makes a long video more interesting, but I still learn a lot!
Yet another good video. Ahmed, you really have a talent for teaching and keeping the video interesting. Why not go the Gumroad route? It's a little oversaturated right now, but you've got something unique on your hands with your teaching style.
you're like the best!
The great work you did on pencil kings brought me here! Please keep up the good work. I think i have found me another favorite artist of mine!!!
almost forgot i was watching a tutorial LOL
liked the little stories very interesting as it helped me focus more on what is your doing in a fun way but it was effectively helpful

you're tutorials are so fun and useful to watch, although i only watched a few of them, i was having troubles with art block and proportions and just drawing as if i cant draw anymore xD I'm gonna practice these as soon as i can, thank you !!

"Let's go back to chicken guy". Well, that deserves a like. Great artwork!
sometimes I start with the legs, because idk... just drawing legs is "more comfortable" for me, don't know why. Today I discover that isn't too silly.

What a legend! I love this!
thank you for the great videos
can you make a simple video on how to draw setting poses ?
Awesome laid back tutorial. If I may ask, setting aside Spider-Man, what are the boring anatomy resources you would recommend?
Loved the chicken :D so cute! I like the gobble gobble sound better though, not that in Germany the chickens nor the turkeys would make that sound, but onomatopoeias are hilarious in every language :)
If you want to do another poses video, maybe next time you can do interaction poses. couple poses or fighting poses -stuff like that. would be great to see how with intertwined figures the position of the boxes changes/what is good to know or to look out for...
First, I can relate with the name pronunciation, as people also make mistakes in my name.
Second, you are awesome at explaining. Meet a happy sub!
I have a question. How do you go about backgrounds? whenever i draw a character i usually put it on a white background, then when i go to make an actual background the color shows through the skin ans stuff, then i have to go in with a white paintbrush to fill in those spots behind the figure. I watched the 1st video and just right now i realized there was a part 2
Man you make it look so easy :p
When you drew the big foot I couldn't stop laughing! Your videos are very informative and funny
Fuckin love this dude's energy
Hey awesome job Ahmed! Thank you! could you try to make more body types though? for exemple how do you make a fat character out of a skinny ref ? or a muscular one? thanks for making amazing content like this !!

You are AMAZING. Thank you ♥
This advanced stick figures become my new fav. Give it a name! :'D
I really like the 'box-shape-figure' basic :D One question, do we really need to understand the human anatomy? Those muscles, bones.....? Thanks :)
Hi, hey budy thanks for such amazing videos with tips, great job, keep on providing us more great stuff. Thanks!!
thnx for all of the poses it will help me in the future
So peaceful
LOVELY VID, hahaha What a chill sesh. Please :') Keep making more :D
Not sure if I like the background music, it's a little loud at least! But love your videos man.
