Just an FYI, anyone who reads this: do not open that blister. You're opening a gateway for bacteria to go directly into your skin. Once you open your skin, it's like a door for bacteria to just walk in! Do your best to make sure you don't break it.
I’ve had blisters on primarily my feet my entire life and as long as the skin underneath has healed and you use rubbing alcohol on the blister and the needle, you’re good to go,
@@MrOgge50 The only risk an average person will be facing would be a staph or MRSA infection, which is why most people shouldn't be breaking their blisters
There has never been anyone in the world who got seriously sick from popping a little blister like that. This notion is far overstated (and oversimplified) fearmongering. No one has to worry. You shouldn't do it because it is disrupting healing.
Yea until you start working again and rip the whole skin sac off. Then it starts to burn and like you said, “But what about bacteria?” Pop it and tape it. Can’t go wrong.
nothing loves me more in this universe than my body and all those little guys whose whole mission in life is JUST to protect me and keep me alive. i'm so happy, thank you guys. i'll thank you by feeding myself and sleeping well
Yea not true, yes these creatures are acting in the name of love (God's love, specifically), but God certainly loves you more than these things, seeing as He made them to begin with and would be the originator of their love to begin with, a superior love.
As someone with OCD this makes me feel so much better, as often times my brain tries to convince me that blisters are filled with bacteria and that the fluid will cause my flesh to rot. This makes me feel a lot better knowing how clean it is, and I don't imagine I'll struggle so much with wanting to pop them in the future
As long as the blister stay close, I can assure you, no bacteria will go under your skin. Our skin is the greatest defense mechanism against bacteria. What dangerous is when it ruptures because it may give access for the bacteria to pass our skin and enter our system and cause infection.
what an arrogant weird comment... this is why you should love yourself (what's that even mean?) even more? Do you not feed or clothe or bathe or house yourself? Do you take care of the essentials required for your existence? Do you take part in activities you enjoy? You love yourself plenty.
RUclipsr: *explains something about blisters and mentions it’s mostly water* My intrusive thoughts: Since it’s mostly water, I wonder what it would taste like.
I’ve always assumed blister fluid to be full of bacteria and other gross stuff that got in when the skin got damaged. Seeing how clean it is here is honestly really reassuring and will make me much less disgusted by my own blisters in the future.
I had pus filled blisters thx to horsefly bites. It would have been interesting to see what was in those... (I'm allergic to insect bites/stings, but these things were nuts. I hate bugs 😵💫)
@@kme If it was pus, it would have been sort of milky or at least cloudy in appearance, and pus also tends to smell pretty rank. Under thoseconditions, it's not a blister, it's an abcess. If it was clear fluid, then it probably wasn't pus. If it WAS pus, then it could have been due to bacteria introduced by the fly when it bit you, or just skin bacteria that got carried into the wound.
@@tomterific390 it was cloudy and kind of milky yellow? It's healing up, tho it's been weeks now. I found it ironic that this biggest blister was the only one I didn't scratch, and yet was worst of all the ones the bites caused and taking the longest to heal. I looked it up on how to deal with it, so left all the blisters alone until they popped on their own. Cleaned them and used cream etc. It just caught me by surprise bc I've never had all the bites go like this pretty much instantly after the bugs bit me. They swelled up pretty badly too, but I expected that bc it's my normal reaction. I was going to ask my dr the ndxt time I see her (which should be soon bc I screwed up my knee on that same trip) to see if she has any advice if it happens again. Bc I live out in the country anyway, next to a field of cows.
@@mayurakshighose It will be able to heal on its own once you address the cause of the blister, rubbing with the socks in my case. There is a channel here on RUclips called Blister Prevention with a lot of resource on it. I followed its taping technique on the ball of my foot to stop it for keep rubbing against my loose socks and it pretty much heals itself after less than two weeks.
@@mayurakshighoseBlisters are always caused by friction and pressure -- if you were wearing new shoes or shoes you haven't worn in awhile then they may not fit you correctly. As to your question: generally, blisters heal on their own; if it's very large or painful you can disinfect a pin or needle and pierce it to release the liquid inside, but this may slow healing or create an opening for bacteria to get inside. If you "pop" it, be sure to keep a close eye on it and use a topical antibiotic. If the skin of the blister is really loose or stays moist for a long time after washing the area then I usually pull or cut it off as the skin is dying, which leaves an open wound, which I treat using topical antibiotics and bandages as needed. Hope your foot is feeling better soon!
I literally got several blisters just two or three days ago and carefully popped the ones I could and then sealed them as best I could with bandaids. I hope the fluid inside still comes back after popping because now I feel bad about it haha. Don't pop em!
You generally shouldn't pop blisters unless it need to (if it's infected, for example). If the fluid inside is clear, it contains stuff to protect the skin underneath!
@@cyborgfalcon it's also a good idea to pop blisters (in a sterile way of course) if they're in a place that's likely to burst on its own, which is a risk for infection. for example, i had a blister on my heel that was right where the top of my sock sits, so i lanced it with a sterilized needle and put a bandaid on it so it wouldn't pop from my sock rubbing on it (also note: wearing brand new doc martens with ankle socks is a really bad idea)

@@siddhant9205 I knew a case in my town where a guy got a huge blister on his leg due to an injury playing football, and a local Doctor drained it... Then this guy went to a doctor in a bigger city for further treatment, and that doctor told him they should have not drained it, because now he will get a scar, it's going to be more painful and it's going to heal slower.
He just did that for us, for the experiment ❤😊
Bro that water sounds healthy.
The little white blood cells are awesome. They remind me of little octopuses. I've never seen them that closely before. Really amazing stuff.
Little White Octocells!!
Shhhhhhh
It's crazy that even outside of the body they continue to take care of us, or at least they think so.
Thank you White blood cell you're The one who cares most of Me😂❤
nothing loves me more in this universe than my body and all those little guys whose whole mission in life is JUST to protect me and keep me alive. i'm so happy, thank you guys. i'll thank you by feeding myself and sleeping well
Yea not true, yes these creatures are acting in the name of love (God's love, specifically), but God certainly loves you more than these things, seeing as He made them to begin with and would be the originator of their love to begin with, a superior love.
Contamination ocd. I can understand your relief. Your body can handle little contamination. Don't worry
As long as the blister stay close, I can assure you, no bacteria will go under your skin. Our skin is the greatest defense mechanism against bacteria.
What dangerous is when it ruptures because it may give access for the bacteria to pass our skin and enter our system and cause infection.
bacteria isn't all bad, have you ever had a probiotic or kombucha?
Kombucha is my favorite drink

Amazing. Thank you for sacrificing your body for science! 😂

This is why I should love myself even more. This tiny cutie legitly accompany me all the time ❤
what an arrogant weird comment... this is why you should love yourself (what's that even mean?) even more? Do you not feed or clothe or bathe or house yourself? Do you take care of the essentials required for your existence? Do you take part in activities you enjoy? You love yourself plenty.

RUclipsr: *explains something about blisters and mentions it’s mostly water*
My intrusive thoughts: Since it’s mostly water, I wonder what it would taste like.
Damn. It was so heartwarming seeing those cells still trying. I'm gonna head to the gym and care more about my body man. That is so motivating.
I’ve always assumed blister fluid to be full of bacteria and other gross stuff that got in when the skin got damaged. Seeing how clean it is here is honestly really reassuring and will make me much less disgusted by my own blisters in the future.
No, you're thinking of pimples
There shouldn't be any bacteria. Unless the skin was broken, the fluid should be sterile. It's just an ultrafiltrate of plasma.
Enjoyed seeing the WBC. Nice to see them at work.
Said nobody ever about the Westboro Baptist Church
Tysm i got them many times and i used to pop them i didnt knew what were they till now! +_+
With that in mind, don't pop your blister. Protect it and let it heal.
Hey small q, I got a blister on my feet. Should I just let it be? Will it heal on its own
@@mayurakshighose It will be able to heal on its own once you address the cause of the blister, rubbing with the socks in my case. There is a channel here on RUclips called Blister Prevention with a lot of resource on it. I followed its taping technique on the ball of my foot to stop it for keep rubbing against my loose socks and it pretty much heals itself after less than two weeks.
@@xdragon2k ohh okay tysm. I think I got it from wearing shoes. I'm not sure of it tho
@@mayurakshighose from wearing shoes? what. how the fuck is that supposed to work
@@mayurakshighoseBlisters are always caused by friction and pressure -- if you were wearing new shoes or shoes you haven't worn in awhile then they may not fit you correctly.
It’s amazing to see your immune system at work defending you! Too bad those few WBCs are going to die
its a shame they never retire
They have a short lifespan anyway, they are probably still living to a ripe retirement by leukocyte standards.

Let's hear it for those white blood cells, folks! And for the nice man who makes these cool videos!
Very charming white blood cells
Thank for sharing 👍
They're fun to pop

God bless those little guys. Who would we be without them❤❤❤
dead bodies
Thanks! This little video after 60 years, has done more to convince me than any other advice to stop popping my blisters!
Brooo the comments made me sooo emotional 😭✨✨✨
You are everything I needed as a kid in elementary school 😂. Thank you for your good works.
You actually showed some white blood cells! I had no idea they crawl around! That's awesome. They were inside your blister looking to gobble up anything that could cause an infection. This video totally made my day! Thank YOU!!
I'm so proud of my cells 🤧
This guy sacrifice his finger for science 😮
Very cool, thanks! Though it should probably be noted that blisters should never be popped if it's at all avoidable. As mentioned in the video, they're there for a reason, and popping them just gives pathogens a great portal for infection.
❤
If you clean the needle and the blister with rubbing alcohol, it’s not a problem
@@MrOgge50 the blister also serves a purpose (if it's filled with blood or clear fluid), it heals the damaged skin. If you pop it, you interfere with the healing process.
@@cyborgfalcon Yes, that’s why you pop them when the skin underneath has healed
Ok now THIS is one of ur cooler ones forsure. Didn't think you'd find WBCs in there, good stuff!
Damn I’ve actually been curious about that one. Awesome short bro!
So that's why it takes days for blisters to heal, cuz they're kinda slow af😂
Can take a shot of the white cells reacting with germs? Like useing a drop of blood in pond water
I think it'd be pretty much like the WBC seen at the end of the video; it encapsulates the suspicious entity in question within it.

This might be a silly question, but are the white blood cells seeing the bubbles as a foreign object or does it just look like they’re going after them?
I like how you took the precaution to disinfect the needle before poking a hole in the blister
Whenever I see a WBC under a microscope I she's tears everytime, am crying rn 😭
"Everybody's doing a brand new dance now. Come on, baby, do the loco-motion." - White blood cells, probably
i always wanted to pop them out when i got them, but i realized they actually kind of help, thank you!!
The locomotion of the white blood cells are created by motor proteins within the cytoplasm of the cells.
Amazing, makes you feel like life is much more than a desk job and a 9-5
A full body of cells is trying to understand itself.
How those tiny tiny cells know what to do and how it’s done their job?
I also move around by pseudopodial locomotion. Meaning, I don't get up from bed, I roll out of it.... using my pseudopods because I'm definitely not using my regular pods.
😅
You dont sleep inside a sleeping pod?

How many planets did you see?
@@sam04019491 - My bad. I typed telescope but meant microscope. Brain fade.
This just shows how amazing our bodies are in protecting itself.
Fun Fact: the reason why cells can still move in stagnant fluid without a current is because water molecules are comparatively larger. For something as small as a cell, swimming in water would be like if you swam in gelatin.
Watching the white blood cells seek something to absorb is beautiful
I still Love the fact that you put the magnification on video, excellent
