dont worry about the asses.. everyone else thinks that they can do a better job and what everyone else does.. i get it all the time on my channel.. dont take the bad comments to heart.. the best weapon to them is silence, they hate that....
On the comment someone made, that you referred to in this vid. I don't have large equipment as you. However, at 71 and been around the block a few times. I agree with you, that sometimes a blower works better than a blade. My 18HP Power King Tractor, with 48 in. blower can blow fluffy snow about 35 feet! The heaver snow not as far. I do say you are full of it! HUMOR, that is! Gota love your vids! Keep em coming! PS My wife thinks your crazy, and me to for watching. javahjoeo, from Kokomo, 46902
I can't agree more on that blower vs blade topic.. You can only push the stuff so far and it is often much harder on the machine doing all that pushing. Great vid keep em coming
Love the dual auger blowers it just took me 4 hours to clean my driveway no blade just the bucket on the tractor I'm with you blowing it is the quickest most efficient way and you don't end up with piles everywhere job well done the people who tell you that you don't no what your doing probably live in Florida haha
plowing with a blade is only good if you have somewhere to put the snow. once you run out of places to push it the end result is that you now have compacted banks to deal with, which actually makes it worse. keep up the good work Wes.
Agree about the blower being better then a blade. Way back when snowblowers first came out the first winter we had one we kept the blade on the loader tractor just in case. The blade has never been used since. Blade is hard to push and leaves a high bank. When the wind blows, which it does here all the time the snow fills in to the height of the bank. With the snowblower no bank, less snow, less work for the equipment.
I would agree that the snow blower is better. Up here in New York State we plow snow with an 8120 and sometimes if it gets wet tractor has a hard time. But now we have a 9320. I've had 2ft of water holding snow and not spun a tire. I've had that tractor pushing so much snow the snow comes over the blade. This blade is a dele an and probably 9 foot tall when lowered. But the one bad thing about a blade is that the tractor has so much power you'll be ripping up a foot or two of lown and the turbo doesn't even kick in, and it's hard to tell how low the blade really is. I've always wanted a snow blower for the front of our 7930
Still miss seeing the 5020 pushing the white stuff. We always used the blower to move piles that we had pushed up. I'll bet I'm not alone when I say we were wondering when this video would show up as at the end of the last you said you were expecting 22 inches (alot of snow in anybody's language). As to the ass comments, don't even waste a moment in response. You accomplish more in an a hour than he likely does in 2 days. You do a good job at whatever you put your hand to.
Very compact snow output there Wes. I am kind of use to the home snow-blower that sprays out a fine powdery kind of blast, of course the wind catches it when I throw upwind & I end up looking like "Frosty The Snowman" I kind of wish I had either a snow cab enclosurure or a blower that compacted better. Very good video, thanks for sharing it to your loyal subscribers & all. You did the right thing, by not blasting the kid, it could have been so ugly with the Father being a Lawyer.....
I live in the Buffalo NY area and the only way to move snow is with a blower . You have to get the snow back , to make room for more snow .All a blade does is make big piles . I have a JD 4400 and a blower is the way to go .
Hi Wes that Canadian Blowers lasted longer than that bale trailer that was built up here lol, must be from the days we built stuff properly in Canada . Get in tired of blowing snow up here. Got some stuff packs in here pretty hard and deep. Have to push that out with the loader. Big problem we have then is the edge it leaves catches snow, when it blows over again. Just another employment creation scheme with a bucket or blade moving it again. Regards Robert
Living in Sweden, we get lots of snow. Blade for roads and driveways where you cant throw the snow anywhere. Blowers for everything else pretty much. We run scooped or arched blades on the highway and they use momentum to throw the snow. But if I just had to have one, I'd go with a blower for sure! There are the big train-blowers in the alps and russia. Pushing just insane amounts of snow, really cool to watch!
I honestly don't know why I watch your videos... but they're so interesting looking into how your daily life is. Thanks for the stories and the entertainment. I do appreciate your work.
On the CT322, The john deer dealer near me recommended using a 3/4 socket to check the gap on the bottom of the track when tensioned properly. too tight will rip out the metal plates in the track and too loose it will slip. First set of tracks we had lasted 1300 hours and had the 2nd too tight and 700 hours it was ripping out the plates.
this winter has been brutal on my tractors too and I agree with you a snow blower is much better than pushing the snow around it doe's a neater and cleaner job.
rig that blower onto the skid steer! just need the right hyd motor and connect to aux. hyd on loader. lots more manuverable and blower is up front so you don't kink your neck looking behind you. plus loader goes a lot slower forward than most tractors in reverse especially when snow is deep or wet or both
Blades are ok to an extent, u can use ablaze until u run out of room to push the snow too, but a blower is better because if u have a narrow road between 2 fences, and u try to push the snow with a blade, it's not gonna work as well cause it will fall back into the path that was plows vs if u have a snow blower, u can throw the snow far away from the working area..
No, Wes, youre not an ass. Love your vids. its a side of farm life that i don't see living in the suburbs (Glenfield) on Aucklands north shore in New Zealand. In fact we don't see snow in Auckland in winter. It only drops to about 3*c on the coldest days. 26*c and a beautiful sunny day today. :o) Cold weather will kill a half dead battery quicker than anything else.
Blowing sure works faster then a blade but some places you still have to use a blade. We have a farmer for out cabin tract that brings up his Kabota Skid steer and blower and he puts tracks on it but when the snow get so deep I still have to fire up my JD MC to push his snow walls over the side of the hill because if he gets over to do it he will go tumbling over the side but because my MC only weighs two tons I can ride one track on the snow pile that is over the edge and not get into trouble like his heavier machine will. If you dont push the snow wall over the road will not drain so it becomes an ice sheet between two ice walls. One year I was plowing five feet of snow by running over the top and pushing two feet of snow with my blade. Kinda a funny feeling being up so high but not a problem with my 14 inch wide shoes.
I watched this vid last week and as I was out plowing with a blade I thought of your comment at the end. Yes snow blowing is better! Could hardly friggin move that crap. Love all the toys you got there!
If you have a big snow blower like that... its better than a blade.. I use the blade in spot that have debris under the snow where a blower would get wrecked. Good Video... im gonna go out and play in the snow now...
i also got a lucknow 7 ft, i put the hydraulic shoot turn and the top of the shoot hydraulic nose to through the snow down, love it, i got 1400 ft of driveway to deal with , tom.
you are right about backing up with a blower. you should get a front hitch with pto I put one on 7710 just to blow snow better going ahead and less wind blowing back on the windows you would never go back again lol good vid
Have a 8 foot Blade on my truck and have plowed all my life with Trucks ,Tractors ,And Loaders .Blowers are great But dam Hard on the neck. Blower does a mutch neater job.But slower>PS Great Videos Keep them up
great video as usual Wes. a question about the US farming policy. in the UK press the last week I read about Obama signing some agreement cancelling farming subsidy and moving the money to crop insurance, is this correct? cos if it is it will hurt a lot of farmers over there I imagine, UK farming subsidies are being cut this year as well, so just interested.
Thank you I enjoyeed knowing the side of a snowblower man knowing his stuff. I had no sainted clue that the snow coming out from the tube was so heavy and nasty. Food for thoughts when young Texan daredevils are around.
I love it "you're wrong" dude you crack me up. I work with a guy that reminds a lot of you. Always great stories. Even down to the voice and the words you choose. Must be a farmer thing.
cool vid im with yah about blowing the snow i can pile it higher then a regular plow now i suppose if that plow is mounted on a bucket i wouldnt be able to beat a plow to each his own
I used to bucket and blade snow a lot, but once I got the blower I knew I would never go back. No piles. ditches stay clear for spring runoff. no big piles of snow all over melting for half the summer. you have to drive pretty slow with a snow blower but if you had to push the snow that far with a blade it would take just as long
Even though I use a plow (since I can't afford a blower for my tractor right now) blowers are nice for the deep stuff, but plows can be nice for the smaller stuff (when it's liek say an inch or two) to just get it out of the way and have the area clear to keep it from freezing (if it's a cement or paved driveway that is, if it's gravel, just let the snow form a thin layer of solid stuff for the blower to ride on so it doesn't dig up all the gravel)
I think a blower would be a lot easier on your equipment. Also you can get it much further out of your way than with a blade. If I was set up to run a blower on my truck I'd be doing it.
I sure do wish I had a job working for you... I really messed up, and took advantage of a nice farmer that took me on as a noobie.... Now I can't get off the ground!!
You should look into adding an Oshkosh H series blower to your fleet. I plow the runways at an international airport and we have 15 of them... 4wd, 4 wheel steer, 2 diesel engines with a combined 950hp, and the blower head is 6' tall and 10' wide... It wouldn't take you long to clear out your place with one of those.. Lol
You can only push so much snow but you can blow a hell of a lot of it. My little walk behind snow king will clean out my drive in about 15 minutes and there is no where to plow it to. Especially in the country like you, a blower is the way to go.
I have also a cool story:I was clearing the parking of a gas station one night with a tractor and there was so much heavy snow i had to blow it away;across from the gas station there is a bar and this guy comes out of the bar to go home and he s really drunk;so drunk that he passses through the snow stream and never bugs!
thanks for taking the time for you videos. Am semi retired and spend a lot of time watching them. 'was wondering what you use for a camera. later John cummins
awesome we finished cleaning up jobs yesterday you should check out the video I got of the bobcat dumping snow off the parking garage it's not very long but can we say dump splat lol
I like my blower on the back. that way I have the front end loader available if I need it. I don't even have a cab,,, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE ONE!

+Nigel Clats there is snow blower and there is snow blower. get a good one and no problem as long as it has enough power to run. look up. dalen, tokvam, duun. and so on.

I dont know what video that person watched but its evident that you know what your doing, and you probably already know this but there are always people telling you what your doing wrong how you should be doing things what you should get what you want etc...
can you put the snow blower on the frunt? I do agree a blower is better then a plow but when you blow the snow then go over it with the plow it makes it look better
Tractor mounted blowers are awesome. The one your running is large compared to many I have seen. Have you had to replace many wear items on that blower? Anyone who thinks a blade on a pickup truck can match a full size tractor mounted snow blower is an idiot.
Can't you mount that blower in front of the tractor or is it not made for front mounting? I'm sure you have at least one tractor with front hydraulics and PTO...
We snow blow to with our new holland 6640 we usually use a blade but it got the banks to for put and to tall and we pushed it back with our snow blower if it was up to me I would blow now push
I enjoy your videos. I would rather use a snowblower than a blade. Once you get to the end of your run with a blade, you still have a pile of snow to do something with. As far as I'm concerned, the guy that called you an ass is the ass....LOL
dont worry about the asses.. everyone else thinks that they can do a better job and what everyone else does.. i get it all the time on my channel.. dont take the bad comments to heart.. the best weapon to them is silence, they hate that....

you are right about backing up with a blower. you should get a front hitch with pto I put one on 7710 just to blow snow better going ahead and less wind blowing back on the windows you would never go back again lol good vid

just imagine how much you could make if you actually knew what you were doing! Keep doing what you do, its all good. Haters gonna hate.
Great vid! Love the comment responces at the end.
Have fun with your snow it was 45 today in iowa and I don't miss the cold one bit
Great video. just wondering when your going to get a blower for the skid steer then having to look backwards most of the time.
You are right, once you use the blower, you won't go back is right. Alot cleaner and it throws it farther out without tearing crap up.
great video as usual Wes. a question about the US farming policy. in the UK press the last week I read about Obama signing some agreement cancelling farming subsidy and moving the money to crop insurance, is this correct? cos if it is it will hurt a lot of farmers over there I imagine, UK farming subsidies are being cut this year as well, so just interested.

I have a blower on my 2130 and it beats the bucket 3 to 1 for moving snow together they make a good team good video still the best on RUclips
wes just keep doing what you do . it,s your choice to do the things you do and if your happy with it then keep it up. thanks for a great video.
We use a 73" blower on our JD 320 Skidsteer.
Like Wes said , " You can move more tons per hour with a blower "
I love it "you're wrong" dude you crack me up. I work with a guy that reminds a lot of you. Always great stories. Even down to the voice and the words you choose. Must be a farmer thing.
cool vid im with yah about blowing the snow i can pile it higher then a regular plow now i suppose if that plow is mounted on a bucket i wouldnt be able to beat a plow to each his own
your right, I have a blade on may atv and once we get about 7 heavy inches, I get out the snow blower, its a lot eaiser
i sold my blower for my tractor. regretted it ever since! didn't realize how good i had it until the thing was gone.
I used to bucket and blade snow a lot, but once I got the blower I knew I would never go back. No piles. ditches stay clear for spring runoff. no big piles of snow all over melting for half the summer. you have to drive pretty slow with a snow blower but if you had to push the snow that far with a blade it would take just as long

i agree 4 inches of snow they don't do much and a blade or bucket is the better choice..
lawnboy81SMS You are correct. my friend
Great snow blowing!!!
Great video!
we could have used that thing down here I ga. last week. good job wes.
18 inches plus on this weekend storm here in Maine (North of Bar Harbor)
Point of query-
I thought that tractor had a front 3-point & pto, wouldn't it be easier to run with it on the front? (More ergonomic anyway...)
Now I can't get off the ground!!
nice video
You should do this this winter. Although we may not get a lot here.
Lol
+Irocrcr or just go for broke and get something from, øveraasen hehe.
we just bought two of the exact same snow blower for our jd 6105m
You can only push so much snow but you can blow a hell of a lot of it. My little walk behind snow king will clean out my drive in about 15 minutes and there is no where to plow it to. Especially in the country like you, a blower is the way to go.

Cool
GREAT VIDEO!
thanks for taking the time for you videos. Am semi retired and spend a lot of time watching them. 'was wondering what you use for a camera. later John cummins
olympus tough camera it will take 50ft of water and a 7 ft drop.
Lucknow makes some nice equipment they build them not too far from where i live
I like when you tell stories like this could you do it more often or make separate videos on them? nice video
i love it! it's a change of pace. and besides i haven't seen snow all winter here in holland so yeah, i like it, i like it alot! 8D
cool storys !
awesome we finished cleaning up jobs yesterday you should check out the video I got of the bobcat dumping snow off the parking garage it's not very long but can we say dump splat lol
enjoy watching your videos, sorry for the haters out there. they need a life. thanks!
Do any of your tractors have a pto in the front? If so, maybe try hooking the blower up to the front.
I like my blower on the back. that way I have the front end loader available if I need it. I don't even have a cab,,, BUT IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE ONE!
doesnt the snow consistency make a difference,i remember trying a snow blower in UK winter and that heavy wet snow was impossible to try and blow, but it bladed away just fine.
i am farming in NZ now and have the ultimate snow pusher,a 300hp Prinoth snow groomer on 4ft tracks.
+Nigel Clats there is snow blower and there is snow blower. get a good one and no problem as long as it has enough power to run. look up. dalen, tokvam, duun. and so on.
I wish We would have had one of those snowblowers instead of our big blade on the back of our Allis Chalmers 7000
I use a blade and i like it other i need my tires loaded and now i need wing extensions or something because i have put a 45w loader on my jd 520 and to fit the loader i had to move my tires out so im wider than the blade.
Also preference on a blade or blower greatly depends on your hp and how big of area you do cause my tractor could not handle a blower
I like your videos because you remind me of my dad
really!!! well i am a bit of a hard ass to.was he
He was definitely a hard ass. Miss him everyday man, thanks for commenting back, I hope you didn't get any wind damage last night
Also it's really how you tell stories hahaha like you really should write a book or something because you could talk about nothing for hours and if probably listen
your a pretty darn good story teller there Wes, hey how is the gin & raisins working for you ? lol
love the stories
One teaspoon of Epson salt in each cell, fill with distilled water, then charge. Battery's will last 8-10 years.
Am I wrong in thinking 1 of his tractors has front linkage and pto? I could be very well mistaken
When u gonna post a video of the 5020 or tell us what's wrong with it???
I enjoy your videos, and remember it takes an ass to call someone an ass!
Awesome vid about dam time! LOL.
Your just a good ol boy Wes!!!!!!
Got to remember, Wes, Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one. It's just that some stink worse than others. So let them have their opinions. I just wouldn't pay any attention to them. Good job.
get the 5020 out with the blade if u get any light snow fall
I dont know what video that person watched but its evident that you know what your doing, and you probably already know this but there are always people telling you what your doing wrong how you should be doing things what you should get what you want etc...
You should invest in one of those new holland tractors that there chairs turn around the other way.
this is the last year for the bi directional tractor from new holland
+onelonleyfarmer they brought bi directional tractors back they are on there website
can you put the snow blower on the frunt? I do agree a blower is better then a plow but when you blow the snow then go over it with the plow it makes it look better
Daniel Pontes Actually, all front mounted snowblowers that are made to be on the front run off the REAR pto shaft.
Tractor mounted blowers are awesome. The one your running is large compared to many I have seen. Have you had to replace many wear items on that blower? Anyone who thinks a blade on a pickup truck can match a full size tractor mounted snow blower is an idiot.
Im watching this video because its Midnight, in June, In Phoenix. And its still 95 degrees outside.
Can't you mount that blower in front of the tractor or is it not made for front mounting? I'm sure you have at least one tractor with front hydraulics and PTO...
I love your videos good job.
Those who can, do, and those who can't run their mouth in the comments. Good video Sir!
what happened to the 5020 and the dozer blade?
I think the real question here is, why is there a stop sign in the middle of nowhere? 8:41

I don't care what anyone says blowing snow is the way to go even here in the mountains of Colorado
