    Thanks for the great video.
Definitely mitigate cornice danger with a snow anchor and rope before venturing near it to keep from falling through.
Your avy probe is best for finding the edge of the ridge and cornice.
Your avy shovel or rope can cut the cornice free and mitigate slab danger below.

After watching this one helpful how-to, I feel 100% qualified to climb cornice on my own

Probably want to watch that again then... or maybe I need to make it again! as you definitely don't want to go climbing any cornices... XV

Really good lesson! I've been involved in the 3 big mtn dangers (cornice, avy, crevasse) & falling with a cornice was the worst feeling. Like a trap door where there's nothing you can do.
Xav', maybe you remember when we rode the Queen's Chair with Flo Orley & I dropped in first & backdoored into & through a triple overhead cornice barrel!

Cornices, crevasses, tree wells, roots, terrain traps (avalanches), snow packs (avalanches) are always on my radar to check before hand with maps, binoculars or a drone for safety (unless I walk up by and see the line in plain sight) amongst generic things like rocks, gradient or weather.

Hey Xavier, thank you so much for the very nice video! Just one thing: for me the video titles of your videos are somehow auto translated into German. If that is a setting on your side I would suggest you to turn that off (and just show the title in English). Since there is much more and much more and much better content in English than in German I am more likely to skip your video if the title is shown in German. For people who are not fluent in English or do not understand it at all they may click on the video but won’t watch it because even though the title is now in German the video is still in English (and nobody likes subtitles). So you may get more clicks but the percentage of viewers watching the video entirely probably drops. If the setting is on my side please ignore my comment

I always get them in English so it might be your settings in your browser perhaps!

@@mikelindqvist8015 Well, the title is translated in french and I didn't ask for it. How do you think I can avoid that auto-translation ? Personally, that pisses me off. Merci. Tack. Happy shredding.

Pierre Téloche salut! Depends on what browser you’re using. Maybe you have your browser to auto translate English to French on RUclips. If you’re using Google Chrome you can just right click anywhere on RUclips to access the translation option.
