In addition to a Munter Hitch knot, there is a variation that reduces the twist of the rope and adds more friction - it's called: The Super Munter (especially for very long rappels with heavy gear). Also there is a very nice variation of the Figure-of-8 knot called The Bunny Ears - which allows you to attach a single rope to two anchor points in close proximity.

Also - yes agree, I am going to film a "rappeling into a line" episode, and not from a snow anchor, as hopefully a lot more useful for people, as a snow anchor is really a last resort, good to know - but something you hope not to use really! So I know your safe. As a climbing instructor for many years. I saw it straight away. Great video and excellent description & demo of the knots dude. 🤙
The Karabiner there is a question of accessibility, when travelling on glaciers, to keep the ice screw accessible in case of being stuck between the two walls of ice. It’s not where the point is attached to my body as there is a sling which connects to my harness, it is just to make sure I can get at it easily.
Important little point on the Figure 8 Loop: a figure 8 should never be cross loaded (both ends of one side pulled apart) as it can invert and roll itself out. This is perhaps not strictly dangerous if someone is tied into the loop with a carabiner, but it's very dangerous if used to join two rope ends. Best to just avoid cross loading figure 8s in general. I'll never understand why the bowline isn't used more in alpinism. Its used in the same way as a figure 8 on a bite or figure 8 follow through, but it's always easy to untie.
People don’t leave enough of a tail or and /or tie the tail off. So when climbing the the knot can push itself undone. Bowline is a great knot, but if you tie one hold both ends and push both hands towards each other it’ll come loose.
XV- love your content, but your Klemheist is backwards. Wrap the bight up the rope, then bring the tag ends up through that bight on top and pull down. Your way will potentially slip more.

D'habitude j'aime bien tes vidéo qui sont au final assez bon enfant mais la... Ça me semble un peu irresponsable de faire une vidéo comme ça. J'imagine des gens se dire qu'il est possible de faire de la haute montagne juste parce qu'ils connaissent 4/5 nœuds. À aucun moment tu parles de pratiquer avec des professionnels ni de se former. Juste pratiquer à la maison to do some "crazy ride" n'est largement pas suffisant. Se déplacer sur un glacier, faire des manœuvres de secours, faire des rappels, ça s'apprend et ça devient tellement dangereux si c'est mal fait. Peut être que tu as appris au fur et à mesure et un peu sur le tas mais tu as tjrs eu l'occasion de pratiquer avec des pro. Alors que des personnes lambda partirons tt seul avec leur pauvre corde sans rien sur le baudrier juste parce qu'ils ont vu ta vidéo... J'espère vraiment me tromper mais je vois de plus en plus de comportement irresponsable en montagne ( d'autant plus cette année que les remontées sont fermées) que j'ai un peu d'anxiété vis à vis de ce genre de vidéo.
Hola, je pense que si je t’écoute on ne devrait tout simplement pas faire de vidéos de Freeride parce que cava incite les gens a aller en montagne et que bcp ne gèrent pas suffisamment… aussi encourager les gens a porter un airbag?…. Ca insiste les gens a aller faire de la poudre et se croire invincible. C’est une discussion qu’on a eu moult fois, surtout après mon avalanche mais je suis pour ma part convaincu que c’est bon d’ouvrir l’esprit et de faire confiance aux gens pour en tirer les bonnes infos et les gérer de manière responsable. Apres quoi qu’on dise , quoi qu’on donne comme conseils il y en aura toujours qui prendront le mauvais cote de l’info et oublieront de réfléchir, il y en aura toujours ( a mon avis la plu part) qui prendront le bon de l’info Donc desole si tu n’aimes pas cette video, j’espere faire mieux sur les prochaines. With the figure eight, if you tighten it by pulling on each of the 4 ends individually, it’s a lot easier to undo if it gets loaded hard.

I've forgotten how to tie the alpine butterfly so many times.
I recall there was a really easy method of wrapping it around your fingers and hand.
