    To anyone watching I think it was an error on his end which he’s human and it happens. But the torque spec IS NOT 23ft-lbs!!! You’ll break the plug it’s 23 NM!! Which is equivalent to 16.5-17ft lbs. Other than that good wrenching bro and great video!

    • @ernestrodriguez4721
      @ernestrodriguez4721 Год назад

      So I should torque to 16lbs?

      @ernestrodriguez4721 yes 16.5 or 17ft

      Good catch. If you look at his digital readout shows it’s calibrated to NM, but the text on the screen shows FtLbs. Thanks for clarifying.

      Before he puts the first coil pack in, he does correctly say 23Nm. I'm shocked there hasn't been an edit. At least 1 guy broke his plug in the comments.

    Aren't Eldor coils recommended due to unreliability of the Bosch? I see you have the newer crankcase vent pipes. Those should be pointed out to your viewers.

    Awesome explanation of how to do this. My 2016 550 is in the shop now for a water pump replacement but they said I also need new plugs. Let’s see what BS price they give me. If it’s ridiculous at least I know I can change them myself. Thx!

    I recently bought a 535i 2014 F10 and few people that I have talked to about regarding replacing the spark plugs also suggested replacing the ignition coils at the same time stating that the new spark plugs might overwork the old ignition coils. How true is that? And anyway is there a service interval on the ignition coils?

    • @mikimiki195
      @mikimiki195 2 года назад +2

      Spark plugs yes
      Ignition coils don’t waste your money

    I had a misfire on cylinders 4 and 5, I followed the steps to the letter and replaced all the spark plugs, then cylinders 2,3,4,5,6 had a misfire. Do you know what the problem is and do I need to replace all the coils, at least 3 of them are relatively new.

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro  8 месяцев назад

      Hi there, typically coils all need to be replaced at the same time, if one fails, then inevitably the rest are going to follow suit; it is only a matter or time. More than likely disturbing the coils was enough to cause misfires.

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro  Год назад +1

      Hi Paul, while included in the kit, Mike did not use any grease on this DIY. These coils do not play nicely with it, especially if you overdo it. However, we recommend you watch our video on the coil-on plug setups, where we cover when and how to use the dielectric grease! ruclips.net/video/UhGRvZmpLqo/видео.html

    You say 23ftlb, then 23nm for the torque. It's 30nm +- 3nm for the M14x1.25 thread and 23nm +- 3nm for the M12x1.25 thread.
