The Green Bay Packers may not have a typical top wide receiver, but Christian Watson is the most talented of this bunch. He had 3 big plays in the passing game vs. Chicago, including a 25-yard reception on a nice play design from Matt Lafluer to get the talented receiver open. That play set up Josh Jacobs’ touchdown. Christian Watson followed that up with another big play later in the game with the Green Bay Packers trailing only 19-14 early in the 4th quarter. Jordan Love rolled to his right and unloaded a pass down the right side of the field. Christian Watson tracked the ball and hauled in the pass for a 48-yard completion. Curiously, Christian Watson was not on the field on the subsequent 4th-and-goal where Jordan Love fell short of the goal line. Finally, Christian Watson made a 60-yard reception late in the game as the Green Bay Packers were trying to mount a comeback. The diving reception might have been the play of the day and set up the decisive touchdown. Christian Watson finished the day with 4 catches for 150 yards. Matt Lafluer has consistently rotated his receivers in the lineup throughout the year. He would be wise to leave his most talented receiver on the field more often than he has. Nonetheless, this game was a big game for Christian Watson, who the Green Bay Packers have consistently said they want to be more involved. Go Pack Go 💚💚💛💛
It definitely feels like we come out flat after every bye week under LaFleur (it even goes back to McCarthy). His record is 3-3 in the regular season… We got annihilated by the Niners and Bucs in back to back years after our bye and lost to the pretty bad Broncos last year. The three wins are two against the Bears who are cursed to be terrible (and this weeks game could have very easily been a loss) and one against the Rams when Stafford was hurt. Hopefully it doesn’t carry over into next week, because LaFluer has been excellent in the back half of (regular) seasons his whole tenure. Tl; dr I hate the games after byes too, I’m always nervous about them.
Anyone wanna talk about Cooper DeJean I’m sorry but that was terrible seriously !! What we got in Morgan we could’ve found in the 3rd round especially how we always grow talent on the OL … DeJ Ean is the number one pff ranked defensive rookie in the nfl But no gutty trusted in stokes I just don’t get the logic … and walker needs to sit give Hopper a chance or more Wilson
The offense isn’t the problem. It’s the defense as usual. No pass rush and poor run defense means more games will look like this Bears game. Playoff teams will know exactly how to limit GB’s possessions, which will put even greater importance on the red zone efficiency of the offense. Love needs to be mistake free to beat those teams. I don’t know what it will take for GB to finally realize that their ability to pick first round defensive talent in the draft has been piss poor. Maybe when you have a no-brainer in front of you, you take him. A la TJ Watt. Quit reaching. Walker isn’t cut out, neither is Stokes, Van Ness ain’t it either. Rashaun Gary never fully developed and Rare gems like Jaire have their best seasons wasted on bad teams.
I’m confident we can move the ball down the field on anyone but until we start seeing some better red zone results, I will continue to worry about our poor red zone offense. I have hope we can regress to the mean but it’s absolutely worrisome.
The Bears had their starting tackles back and they owned our defense on the edges. That alone cost us multiple first downs. Whether it was Caleb on roll outs or Moore on bubble screens. The defense played undisciplined all day and the 3rd and 19 was a blown opportunity. Give Caleb credit on that last drive. I'll take the win, always. These type of wins tend to galvanize young teams. Lets hope it does. Reminds me of the SD game last year at 3-6. We squeeked it out and the rest was history except for TB and NYG games. Young teams are unpredictable teams.
Small sample size? It’s 10 games in, coming up to December and have already had our buy…not to mention the trade deadline came and went and we did nothing but got rid of one of our few vets for a guy that looks like Tarzan, and plays like jane….id say that’s not the smallest of samples
Plus, gutey has been just awful with his first round picks especially on the defensive side, why not trade 1 or 2 ones away for a Reggie white type playmaker and go out and win a ring
I don't understand why people put such an emphasis on free agency on a team who has had more success than most teams. What about coaching? Chemistry? Player development?
@ I don’t on offense , but what first round defensive pick is looking very impressive right now…I’m talking about going out and getting a guy (defensive end) that most likely you would never get with picks… but also I want to win, we wasted Favre and definitely Rodgers with the draft and develop, I want packers to be great!
That true but besides the lions beat down. Those loses were mostly self inflicted. It's that ugly team that happens to win and lose but when they get it together, they go on a deep run. I've seen 2 chiefs team like that won a superbowl. I've also seen hot teams get bounce out one and done.
Tucker Kraft needs to be fed the ball more, a lot more

Agreed. Wicks needs to earn snaps, not just be given snaps.
TBH I hate bye weeks and first round byes for the packers. After those I feel like we come out flat if we have a meaningful game after

I agree the redzone offense in itself isn’t as bad as it appears. Much of the struggles are due to basic fundamental player execution.

Well, I’m worried about the red zone.
It’s been a hallmark of Matt’s teams, they come out flat, Low T, piss ice cold, a lot.
And yet they win, a lot.

lol Love, Jacobs, Tom and Watson are all guys defenses have to game plan against. Those guys keep D coordinators up at night

The bears used the quick passing game for the 1st time and it was very successful. Not Hafleys best game plan but we won despite the awful play
Feed Reed 🗣️
Romeo oh Romeo where art thou. And Kraft should be utilized more. And with the Defense play like this????? Quick exit
as always there is zero useful information in that video.
Red zone offense is worst in the nfl can’t win a superbowl with that

Packers don’t have a single player on offense that scares anyone, the Lions have dudes all over the place
