I'm sure that Kurt is right with what's he's saying, but I thought it was so refreshing when every play was not so predictable as it was with Waldron. T Brown did a amazing job of moving plays around with creativity in just 4 days of preparation. I think he took away the predictability, so that the defenses can't just sit on 2 or 3 plays from watching tape. Kudos to Thomas Brown and Caleb.
@maxfirefantasyreport I'm not trying to pile on Waldron, he did a good job with Geno Smith ( 0ver 3850 and 4000yds passing in 2 years ) but Geno was not a rookie, he was a 6yr veteran and Seattle also had 2 great WRs and a not great, but better O line. It's my belief that our Oline coach is not as great as everyone seems to think and why are they always hurt ? Tom Thayer who I respect highly, thinks that they don't lift weights enough and work out. Look at Davis, he didn't give a rip about working out and now he's 30 mill $ out of a job. So I also question the Head of fitness for Chicago because Chicago has 1 of the very best training facilities in the whole NFL, and that go's for the defense also.
Great points!! There is a difference between teachers who just tell you what to do vs those who explain the why. People learn fast when they understand why. They can find their own way with that wisdom.
This analysis is just not accurate haha and it kind of solidifies the angry old Kurt persona. Sure, they ran the same plays. But they played with waaaay more condensed sets, way more motion, the receivers were playing their correct positions, there was rhythm to the plays that were called, and I’m 100% sure there was more attention to detail during the week so everyone knew what they were supposed to do on each play. Come on Kurt…
Also Im fairly certain Waldron gave route choice freedom on most plays where Brown has most of the concepts set in stone. Not sure why Waldron wasn’t fired earlier.
What Kurt Warner just said is the best explanation for what was going on with the bears that I've heard he's correct 1,000% gave me goosebumps to hear what he said cuz he's exactly right
Genuinely Kurt has been on point all year. Crazy how someone with real NFL experience can give his unbiased opinion and it polarizes the whole comment section 😂
Agree 100% with Shane putting too much on CW plate. CW needs a simpler process to run the offense at this point in his career. CW will still miss some throws here and there, but his overall growth will improve. THIS is the correct path of grooming in a young QB. It is a process. Waldren was running a mess over there.
He gets the ball off one of the fastest in the league yeah, He was throwing to the number one guy most of the time” the first guy being open a lot “ huh why he try and make those things sound like their bad lol all those points are credit to Caleb my guy
Kurt is on it with the thinking stuff, this is improvisation 101. To know the play call early, is to know more fully the eyes you’re looking through to examine the D and the rest of the field. So says Dr. Improv!
Have you ever noticed that Caleb plays better in the hurry up offense? This is because at the line he has more time to prep the defense and think about each route. I do this when I play MADDEN (lol) and it does help when you have a second to see where the coverage is!
Caleb is a decent dude who loves football. He has the talent to at minimum be a solid NFL QB those who choose to see have witnessed that. Has he been panicky and played shaky at times holding the ball too long and making inaccurate throws? Yep. But I’ve never seen a guy have whole games getting rid of the ball on time, reading progressions, and escaping the pocket who ended up being incapable on the NFL level. Mentally it’s too much for some people the pressure, stress etc. His success is not guaranteed. But I’d bet on No 18. I’m just sorry he came to a team that didn’t prioritize the O Line and coaching like they should have. We could have had Harbaugh and Kingsbury I’m pretty sure. But Caleb will overcome. Even the Bears won’t ruin this talented player.
Well, TBF, didn't Kurt run the Martz system? I think that one is predicated upon a hot route pre-read and then a rapid progression. With Air Raid, doesn't the QB have to quickly survey the field pre-snap and then set an actual progression in that moment? Air Raid experts, please chime in.
Waldron's playcalling is slow and timid. Football is a fast, aggressive game. Brown's playcalling is fast and aggressive. Lo and behold, the Bears' offense looks offensive.
As a center in high school, pointing out the mike was my job. You'd think if a coach really wanted that called out you'd just leave it up to the center. The QB has plenty other stuff to point out and look for.
2:40 I think Caleb was more comfortable in the pocket because Thomas Brown allowed him to escape the pocket when it collapsed. I think Waldron was really challenging Caleb to stay in the pocket and make another read rather than take off and run
They have to do these segments to protect the bears first round pick . They have done this since mich . S1 kiss your QBs ass and hype him him S2 say they are still growing S3’blame another position group start giving light criticism S4 start asking “ is this our QB of the future “
Kurt is in shambles. That looked nothing like the plays Shane was calling, outside of the toss plays the Swift. Even the WR screens were so much better and quicker. We never had success on WR screens with Waldron
valuable general insights but after listening to Tim, QB School and Chase who break down the plays every week I am more and more convinced that Kurt hasnt done more then watch highlights or best case the game copy once before just riffing on how he feels about stuff.........the things he says every week are directly refuted by just about everyone who is actually breaking it down in real time
The green bay defense allows 207 passing yards per game and 327 total yards per game. Not exactly the toughest defense and yet Caleb still didn't contribute a single touchdown🤷♂️ I'm not sure that gives us a lot of confidence. The defense and RBs continue to carry us.
@HammockHutOn3rd It's the new NFL. Big numbers don't guarantee wins. Teams put up big numbers and lose, while others put up pedestrian numbers and win. (See Pittsburgh Steelers.) Jared Goff just threw five picks, and Detroit still won. Caleb walked off the field with a lead in Washington and put the team in field goal position to win against Green Bay. The Bears have to find ways to make winning plays and close out games. How about a receiver breaking a tackle and going to the house? Swift is the only guy right now who's a threat to break a big play.
@@HammockHutOn3rd Carried by our RBs? Caleb accounted for nearly 40% of the Bears rushing yardage on Sunday. Swift and Roschon had a combined 24 carries for 104 yards (4.3/carry), but if you take away Swift's long TD run- a nice run, to be sure, set up by great blocking- they were only at 23 carries for 65 yards on all their other runs (2.8/carry). The GB defense may not be elite, but they are top half of the league in most categories (not far behind the Bears defense in many of them). They have had some lights out games against QBs like CJ Stroud and Kyler Murray. Caleb wasn't perfect, but he played efficient, effective football for most of the game and helped the offense keep the ball moving pretty well. He also came up big on what should have been the game-winning drive in the 4th quarter- after the defense gave up a go ahead TD- and just as importantly, didn't turn the ball over against a Packers defense that is tied for the 4th most forced turnovers this season (and tied for 3rd most per game as Houston has played one more game). I still want to see this level of play continue to improve going forward before I'm sold, but this was a promising performance.
Kurt gets grumpy because he had to break into the league the hard way. He even played in the Arena League and NFL Europe before the Rams. He hates top draft choices! 😂😂😂😂
The Kurt Warner segments feel like 15-20 minutes of him reminiscing about his glory days, with little insightful analysis or meaningful contributions. It’s time to bring in someone fresh.
The Packers defense is really bad. The Bears are going to continue to struggle more against better defenses because it’s a roster construction problem. Offensive line isn’t there yet. Better front 7s will still wreak havoc and Caleb won’t be able to run like he did either against better defenses.
I enjoy listening to Kurt Warner & there's no doubt that Warner was a great QB... but with all the talented teams he played on, why did he only lead a team to ONE Super Bowl Championship? And do you notice that he sure talks a whole lot about himself... more than he does about the QB he is critiquing. QBs have different styles; different skill sets; different sets of players surrounding him; have played in different eras... etc. All I know is that only 10 games into his rookie season, Williams has been showing game-by-game improvement/development as he becomes more comfortable in an NFL uniform.
could caleb just be a sassy bs'er? because like i stated before, it looked like he was out their intentionally throwing bs passes prior to Waldron being fired
Let's face it Katey is average, our first round pick is a blank 😂😂😂😂. Poles is garbage. Katie wasn't the best in college now all of a sudden he's the best in the NFL? 😮
Trust me, he's a bust. The Bears should trade him whilst we can still get something decent. He is LOST!! He does not show me anything where he looks strong and confident and in charge. The Bears don't trust him to throw! The fact we are analysing it to this degree and struggling like Billy ho to find something positive says it all
I hope CW and the OC are hearing this stop overloading the mind let him the first play called. It’s all about timing and being able to quickly read the D once that ball is snapped. Let the game come to CW and he will learn what to do at that line or in the shotgun. Focus more on your own players and the plays will come quicker. That will lead to better timing I believe that CW is taking to long to snap the ball all season he has bee doing that bring speed into each play but when he sees something then either call out an audible or just run the play and stop thinking to much. I hope that CW hear’s this video it will help him in the transition of the pro game. Great video and discussion.
I'm sure that Kurt is right with what's he's saying, but I thought it was so refreshing when every play was not so predictable as it was with Waldron.

I think he took away the predictability, so that the defenses can't just sit on 2 or 3 plays from watching tape.

was probably cautious to not say anything that would be used to pile on waldron. kurt is always measured in his answers
@maxfirefantasyreport
I'm not trying to pile on Waldron,

Bingo! A good teacher/coach wants to make sure you don’t need them. Here’s the concept and here’s the why.
This analysis is just not accurate haha and it kind of solidifies the angry old Kurt persona. Sure, they ran the same plays. Also noticed WRs like Keenan Allen actually making an effort to block for a change.
I think ur hating just to hate
Not a fan of him!
Yup, play action numbers were up, didn't hold the ball as long...
What Kurt Warner just said is the best explanation for what was going on with the bears that I've heard he's correct 1,000% gave me goosebumps to hear what he said cuz he's exactly right
Tim Jenkins is much better.
Maybe Caleb looks more fluid because he has spoken directly to the passing coordinator for the first time.
Genuinely Kurt has been on point all year. Crazy how someone with real NFL experience can give his unbiased opinion and it polarizes the whole comment section 😂
Hahahaha so true and not just NFL experience but, QB experience at highest level in MVPs and Super Bowls
Agree 100% with Shane putting too much on CW plate. CW needs a simpler process to run the offense at this point in his career. Bros a retired multi contract QB this cridical on a rookie qb with a new oc a week before is weird
Great analysis by Kurt

Kurt Warner is really great just ask him
Exactly lol. Me me I'm great

I do agree for the most part what kurt Warner is saying though great insight
Waldron's playcalling is slow and timid. Football is a fast, aggressive game. Brown's playcalling is fast and aggressive. Lo and behold, the Bears' offense looks offensive.

The Bears Offensive Line looked like a high school line on that play.
2:40 I think Caleb was more comfortable in the pocket because Thomas Brown allowed him to escape the pocket when it collapsed. I think Waldron was really challenging Caleb to stay in the pocket and make another read rather than take off and run
Golden info from Kurt!!!

Reasons why a veteran center that was a full-time starter was important... something they failed to provide him.
Kurt is in shambles. That looked nothing like the plays Shane was calling, outside of the toss plays the Swift. Even the WR screens were so much better and quicker. We never had success on WR screens with Waldron

Speis to me has always been good. But with GOAT now as his partner, he will be Chasing Greatness!!
Why is the guy at 14:20 still worried? Caleb just looked competent against a playoff team
The green bay defense allows 207 passing yards per game and 327 total yards per game. Not exactly the toughest defense and yet Caleb still didn't contribute a single touchdown🤷♂️ I'm not sure that gives us a lot of confidence. The defense and RBs continue to carry us.

That’s probably why Caleb plays his best ball late in half’s/ games. Plays are being called in and he is in hurry and go with no changing it
Kurt gets grumpy because he had to break into the league the hard way. He even played in the Arena League and NFL Europe before the Rams. He hates top draft choices! 😂😂😂😂
he isnt going to just hand over flowers, they have to be earned, I like that
The Kurt Warner segments feel like 15-20 minutes of him reminiscing about his glory days, with little insightful analysis or meaningful contributions. It’s time to bring in someone fresh.
Love Kurt, but he thinks there's only one way to play QB
Grumpy old man Warner was on X earlier railing on people about how the blocked FG wasn’t Eberflus’ fault.
It wasn't. Only goofy emo casuals believe different.
It wasn't technically his fault but you have to try to get closer because closer kicks are harder to block. Just common sense.
@@spaceghost8995 common sense. Something Eberflus lacks.
And when Flores brings the house, will he still look comfortable?
The Packers defense is really bad. The Bears are going to continue to struggle more against better defenses because it’s a roster construction problem. Offensive line isn’t there yet. Better front 7s will still wreak havoc and Caleb won’t be able to run like he did either against better defenses.
Kurt Warner is such a hater, its amazing lol
Why because Caleb's dumb
And Kurt thought CW needed to be benched !! No..he needs better coaching and he's now getting it !
I enjoy listening to Kurt Warner & there's no doubt that Warner was a great QB... but with all the talented teams he played on, why did he only lead a team to ONE Super Bowl Championship? Yeah you think the moon landing was fake too I'm sure. 😂😂
Who will the clowns blame once Flus is gone? Kmet ?
Relax Kurt.
Let's face it Katey is average, our first round pick is a blank 😂😂😂😂. Poles is garbage. Katie wasn't the best in college now all of a sudden he's the best in the NFL? 😮
the ol played better
As many runs as pass attempts! And it's the same!
We would have won with JF !!!
lol shut up. You fields truthers are weird
Why, was he going to block on the oLine or kick the field goal to win it.
Stop
Agree
Hahaha
Trust me, he's a bust.
The Bears should trade him whilst we can still get something decent.
He is LOST!!
He does not show me anything where he looks strong and confident and in charge.
