    How has this tablet been?
    It's on sale right now and your video was one of the only art based reviews.
    Was hoping you had done a more in depth one by now...is one coming soon? Would you recommend it for art?

    • @tsukepen

      Hello and thank you for the question. I'm sorry I will have the review out in a couple of days... The gist of it is that there is some parallax with lenovos pen. I haven't tried another USI pen but I assume it would also have parallax. This parallax made it difficult for me to draw bigger illustrations but it might not be something that affects all artist. The other problem I faced with availability of apps. There are only a handful of pro level drawing apps with the best one being clip studio paint. It is a subscription so if you plan to use clip studio I feel like a better device would be worth paying for but if not painter and sketchbook worked well! Clip studio also ran well, 60+ layers on an a4 300 dpi canvas was still usable. I hope that helps if you have any other questions please feel free to ask. The review will also be out soon.

      No problem! I would say it depends on how you approach the device. As a supplemental device that is your sketchbook on the go and can be used for productivity and media consumption it will be satisfying. As your only drawing tablet it is tough to recommend...

    Any idea if ibis paint runs well on this chromebook? I'm very heavily considering getting this device solely for drawing because I'm always drawing on ibis paint on my small phone screen lol.

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  3 года назад +1

      Hello and thank you for the comment! It will definitely be an upgrade over your phone haha ibis paint doesnt have the most complex brush engine so even with the usi pens parallax issues you should be able to draw with pen pressure etc on the chromebook duet. I just tested it and ibis paint does have pen pressure and seems to work well on the crhomebook! I didnt use many layers etc but it functions properly on my unit.

      No problem! You also have access to a few other great drawing apps on chromeOS. I would look through the comments on my chromebook duet videos as users have reported better experiences with 3rd party usi pens. I hope to look into more chromebooks in the future!

    Which will be better for photo editing, browsing and pdf between Chromebook duet and surface go 2?

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  3 года назад +1

      Hello and thank you for the question. If you use Lightroom the Chromebook can be a great value solution but there aren't many other powerful photo editing apps on Android... The surface will give you more access to different programs and a more robust files system but it isn't as snappy and windows in tablet mode can be a bit awkward. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

      It really just depends on what software you like to use. The Chromebook duet is really great for lighter tasks like note taking word processing and light photo editing if you are ok with the availability software. The surface is great when you can sit down to use it but can be a bit slow for using it on the train or standing. If you don't have much preference and your tasks aren't so demanding the chromebook duet is a great value!

    Thanks for not leaving a description or name or a link of the pen you were using in the video.

    • @tsukepen

      Hello and thank you for the comment. While I did briefly mention the name of the product including the pen in the video itself, sorry for not including more information in the description. It is not something I often consider as these videos take a lot of time to put together and I'm often exhausted by the time it comes to post it. I have done several follow-ups on this and I came to the conclusion that Lenovos own USI pen has parallax issues that make it more difficult to use. I have since purchased a penoval USI pen and it seems to perform better. I also don't like to provide links as it often funnels shoppers to the same sites, while there are many other viable shopping options including 2nd hand sellers and I think its best for buyers to find the marketplace that suits their needs best. That being said I will do my best to include more information on the products used in the videos!

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  3 года назад +2

      Hello and thank you for the comment! I haven't had time to make a proper review video but I do have to say with prolonged use there is very apparent parallax (where the pen tip and cursor don't line up where you think it would) and this can make drawing difficult. If you want an overall good device for a variety of things it's a nice tablet but if you mostly want to draw or you want to pursue drawing as a career I would suggest looking into used iPads or apples refurbished ipads. The iPad is just a much better experience from a pure drawing perspective

    Hi there, I am looking for tab cum mini pc for business use, that would include working on Excel files, surfing web, would you suggest this device.

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  3 года назад

      Hello and thank you for the comment. I have not tested excel necessarily but I'd imagine that a light workload would be no problem either with excel or a comparable spreadsheet software. Web surfing is fine and overall it is a great price to performance device in a nice size! It's difficult to get a 2-1 tablet for this price! If you have any other questions please feel free to ask thank you.

    Does the pen has tilt detection? Is the only potencial drawback that i have rn, since i got used to it on the Galaxy Tab

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  3 года назад +1

      Hello and thank you for the question. The pen does have tilt detection. It is not the most sophisticated but it works. The problem is more with the parallax or drift of the tip of the pen and cursor on the screen. Apparently the penoval USI pen is better than other usi pens but I haven't had a chance to try it.

    Chromebook is a desktop chrome browser & Android apps & Linux apps
    it should receive OS updates every 6 weeks for 8 years,, it should have 100GB cloud drive, free for a year
    if you add a $50 USB C HUB, with power in,, you can get audio in/out, HDMI out for a 2nd screen,
    Ethernet port, SD card slots, USB slots,, so you have a tablet,, portable & DESK computer

      Thank you for the comment! I have found the chromebook duet to be very versatile and capable for many tasks. It still has places lacking for my workflow so at the moment it hasn't replaced my usual setup but I see the possibilities of the platform! The hardware seems to be very good for the price point so I hope future models continue this trend. I will try to have a proper review out some time soon!
