Honestly it's tiring people picking out narrative they like just to fit and be negative. For god sake, Jin's enjoying his time, we as an audience should do the same, what's the point of being miserable all the time and negative?

Right? It’s so annoying. And ironic that they all became quiet when Jin started enjoying himself

people in the live chat judging and hating Youngji, saying it's their opinion and they're free to say it. you do know people say the same when they dont like bts and post shit about them and we call them out right?, and what do we say? I'll remind you: If you'll just spread hate, just keep it to yourself.
Some people in there are just hypocrites. Complaining about the host but when jin matched the energy eventually, they're nowhere to be found. You ruined the mood during the live tbh, next time just shut it.

Exactly. I’ve seen some other episodes of Youngji’s show and I really love her energy so much. She really makes all her guests comfortable. I really loved her and Jin’s interactions together, it was such a funny episode. And the live chat does get very annoying and hypocritical sometimes, as seen here.

Yeah for real. When 98% of people are enjoying the video and the other 2% just HAVE to tell you how much they dislike the girl, they suddenly act surprised when everyone tells them to shut up since no one cares about their opinion. At that point you’re just ruining the mood for everyone.

seeing the negative comments really makes me think yall need to widen your sight and see or watch other people as well. to actually understand, people like youngji EXIST. stop being mean. and no, shes not being like this bcs jin is here. this is how she is. she always stand up, shes loud, shes always like this. stop spreading hate. yea u can have your own opinion, but saying "shes annoying" "shes loud af" and all, what makes u think thats not considered as hate? it IS a negative comment. stop and just shut up if u dont like it. learn to respect

By the way, I think YoungJi is a bit extra drunk going into this episode, more than when her other guests visited, and like Jino noticed, she is likely more nervous than usual, since it's "worldwide SUPERSTAR" JIN visiting her today. Haha... Usually when other guests visit, it's the guest that gets more drunk than the host. Haha... But all guests tend to lose their inhibitions and become very open and candid as they talk and drink more. She's good at asking/conversing some serious heart-felt thoughts as well, some guests said so themselves, and some other guests didn't even want to leave when her show's format is to end abruptly and asks the guests to "go home."
The guest before Jin's episode was CRUSH, promoting his new song ft. J-Hope. It really showed how quirky Crush is, haha.
For those that haven't seen her contents, allow me to plug her shows (her channels split up into many, it seems when she moved to a new apartment in 2022, she started a new channel, so a lot of people may not see the guests that already came while at the previous apartment. (And yes, it's really her apartment, there's another room there, guests have visited and repeatedly asked her "you live here?" and her very 1st episode in the previous channel, she had HEIZE lie in her bed while she prepares the food and drinks.)
She's a talented rapper and singer actually (won a reality rapper show, then gained even more prominence for her guesting on variety shows b/c of her personality), and dances quite well (knows a lot of kpop choreography, see Biong Biong show w/ NA-PD), and a very hyper but articulate/sharp entertainer in the variety show circuits since these last few years.
    Her CURRENT channel and guests:
    ruclips.net/channel/UChdqwmHLPoL3UJmm9Fw-LsA
    1) Soobin of TXT
    2) Sunmi (previously of Wonder Girls)
    3) Hoshi of Seventeen (note, when she was in middle school, Hoshi was her bias, she really made Hoshi open up, well, drunk also)
    4) Kim Hyang Gi (actress)
    5) Chaeryeong of Itzy
    6) Choi Yena (previously of Iz*One, now soloist)
    7) Hyungwon of Monsta X (this one is so funny to me, she's more drunk than the guest)
    8) HyunA (previously of Wonder Girls)
    9) Key of SHINee (this one was quite entertaining, b/c Key is an fairly savage entertainer himself and knows all the nuances of this show)
    10) Nayeon and Chaeyoung of TWICE (Chaeyoung's 2nd time)
    11) Christopher (Danish Singer, quite popular in the Asian music market, more than in his home country (now), which is common for some smaller label or indie artists, like Michael Learns to Rock that I followed back in the 90s when living in Asia...)
    12) Crush (promoting new song "Rush Hour" ft. J-Hope) (this is some fun interview, esp. is so quirky himself)
    13) Jin of BTS (what a way to end this season, shows how prominent her RUclips show is now, the guests that wants to come)
I "think" she's taking a break from these RUclips interviews to go back to her music projects. She did talk about it in the Crush episode when discussing music.
    Her PREVIOUS channel and guests:
    ruclips.net/user/c%EC%B0%A8%EB%A6%B0%EA%B1%B4%EC%97%86%EC%A7%80%EB%A7%8C
(a lot of kpop heavy weights already! Even Joon Park of g.o.d., too funny):
    1) Heize
    2) Joon Park of g.o.d.
    3) YooA of Oh My Girl
    4) Yerin Baek (singer)
    5) ChungHa
    6) JungYeol Kwon (singer)
    7) Wonyoung of IVE / Iz*One
    8) LAYONE (rapper, YoungJi had a crush on him, they worked together before, see her own channel, a lot of contents w/ him, but he rejected her right out, yesterday she posted that she and him are doing an OST together)
    9) Lip J 'Soonie Unnie' (was on Street Women Fighter)
    10) Chaeyoung of TWICE (that's why she's already familiar w/ her when Nayeon joined on the new channel)
    11) Changmin 'MAX' of TVXQ
    12) Seungkwan of Seventeen
    13) JooHoney (JooHeon) of Monsta X
    14) Hwasa of Mamamoo
    Her PERSONAL channel:
    ruclips.net/channel/UC3dJKwKxhR1Boz56EsI5PYQ
A few of her M/Vs and behind the scene stuff. She's actually on Na-PD's latest show Biong Biong w/ 3 other girls (2 of them currently in girl groups IVE and Oh My Girl) and was very popular. Kind of "hectic" and "crazy" mood, if it's your cup of tea. It's on the same RUclips channel as the Game Caterer shows w/ BTS and HYBE family recently.
Some performances and videos I really like of hers.
The 1st one I came across randomly from a BuzzFeed quick interview, at the time I was like "who is this odd person?" I couldn't grasp where/which category she's from, surely not an idol... It wasn't until later on when I came across her newer contents again, I realized it's that same crazy girl I saw in that interview!
    ruclips.net/video/yyn2UE7Hr6Q/видео.html
(Lee YoungJi Answers 30 Questions In 3 Minutes - BuzzFeed)
    ruclips.net/video/xaVq4FhbD6Q/видео.html
I particularly like her performance w/ Seventeen's Seungkwan covering Lizzo's "Juice."
Show cased her vocals and stage presence.
    ruclips.net/video/g3rD2V4meGs/видео.html
Did a collab w/ Jay Park (I know... I'm just so-so w/ him, but I like this song, esp. YoungJi's... She was a fan, and no matter what, in the K-Hip-Hop scene, Jay Park is still big and up there.)
    ruclips.net/video/lGMMGMCe8Sk/видео.html
Her own mini performance at a park? (too bad no subs for the talking parts, funny how she roasts some audiences... ha)
    ruclips.net/video/4r5KZIvoSkk/видео.html
Performance by Ailee covering "Bang Bang" ft. YoungJi for the rap portions
(at the time, she's known for her rap b/c she won the rap reality show contest)
OK. I think this is long enough... I know not many people will read thru everything... I'm really writing for myself, word vomit, my way to cope. Ha. She sparked my interest w/ her bubbly personality and down to earth (notice her RUclips shows, 95% of the episodes she doesn't have full make-up and hair done. She talked about it in HyunA's episode.
Oops! Sorry, had to add 1 more!

This is her 1st appearance, anywhere, on the High School Rapper reality competition show.
0:27 part w/ the fast rap verse is the part 17's Seungkwan (previous channel, ep 12) asked her to rap (but she didn't!).
I didn't follow the show (I mean, I only know of it when digging back-up to find YoungJi's content, but quickly skimmed through some episodes to listen to other rappers... Boy, no wonder she won! And not just for her rapping, b/c later on after the show, she really shot to the spot light b/c of her personality as well, unhinged and not uptight.
    ruclips.net/video/oIvyhZsqkaU/видео.html
I lied! Another "1 more"... This clip I think is when she and the other contestants talk before they even started performing I think? Talk about what's "hip hop." It's from what she says or her awe (not in a good way) at some of the comments others made (about not bothering to finish school, suffering = hip hop), and her slight "face palm" but humbly say "oh, I don't know hip hop then" that made me sense (subtly at the time) that she is a smart girl, which later shows from how articulate she is. It always reminds me of this Taiwanese RUclipsr, went on a variety show one time, the topic was about RUclipsrs, that people think it's easy, but he said go finish school, go to college if you could, b/c if you don't learn and know more about life and society, how can you come up with good and meaningful content? Yes, not all professions need a high education, but in creative line of work, sometimes KNOWING a lot and READING a lot helps your content to have DEPTH. Hey, that's why RM and SUGA's songs are NO JOKE! (Still remember when Jino had his Korean producer friend listen to RM's "Seoul" and how he marveled at how RM was able to convey the feelings so accurately and relatable to him.) J-Hope also learned to write and really shined and elevated himself over the years.

Jino, about the military, I think the majority of the army is relieved (me as well) because we finally have some clarity, and we know the decision was made behind the government's back. Yes it's gonna be hard not having all 7 of them home, but if they go sequentially, by the time jungkook will enlist, jin might already be coming back. And I really think BTS want to go because they have never asked or wanted special treatment, and if they won't go it will forever follow them And once they go and return, they can have eternity with us. and Joon's entire speech about how "there needs to be trust between ARMY and BTS, but also between BTS and ARMY" to me sounds like a promise that they would not leave us behind, and we will not leave them behind and that there needs to be trust between us, even if we can't communicate as easily anymore.
Anyway, we'll see what happens. F the government and I will follow bts with my life

Youngji has a very out going personality. If people could give her a chance and watch other episodes, she is hilarious and has charm. Her show "Nothing much prepared" is really a very fun show. She is extra eccentric on her show because she is playing an Ajumma. She normally wears like a scarf and outfits. The show is set in her house as to make guests feel like they are coming to hang out at a friends house. It's not meant to be a normal talk show or interview, it's purposely meant to be like guests are going to a friends house. "Nothing much prepared" plays on the phrase that it's just you come over and go with the flow. You are free to be yourself. A comfortable environment to loosen up and just have fun.
At first listen and watching the show (a new viewer who does not know her or the show) it's a lot for them to take in. But, really she is very fun. She knows she has an outgoing personality she has touched on it a couple times in her show. There's one with a singer Christopher his song is called "Bad" he was on an episode and she kind of touched on that when he asked her questions.
Guests at first maybe shy. Once they start to drink they loosen up. The show is centered so guests are having fun and leave that they had fun with a friend.
*The show is NOT ending, another season will comeback. Taking a break from this show, she will be a contestant on "Show Me the Money" new season. Check Mnet or M2 for show premiere.

Yeah, he was a little extra "buzzed" than usual, so for 1st-timers to her personality, it may be harder to get used to. But she's such an endearing person w/ charisma and really smart and earnest thoughts and articulates very well. Hey, it takes a smart mind to have good raps and insights into the social world. (that's why RM always have deep and insightful lyrics!) At least half-way thru, esp. when Jin became more relaxed (buzzed) and YoungJi start getting used to his presence (or she's just more drunk), that they are more on the "same level" like Jino observed. Haha... When it was announced Jin's going to go on YoungJi's show, many people were excited b/c they think they both have similar chaotic energy and it would be fun to see how they interact. I feel the questions and topics YoungJi asks her guests are always very heartfelt and sincere, not your usual run-of-the-mill TV station talk show stereotypical format questions. And the BOOZE surely makes people relax more and drop their inhibitions, which always reminds me of Graham Norton's talk show, he joked to Colbert it's b/c he booze up his guests. Hahaha... (well, he's a really good interviewer and host first, the booze was secondary... haha)

When people ask me what it is about BTS that makes me their fan, I point to their message of kindness, love yourself, speak yourself...and the fact that they are good people (because most of my friends don't enjoy rap/hip-hop). Thanks, Jino. I'm only 67 (so I don;t claim much wisdom) and British, so I do, indeed, remember the Beatles and our hysteria for them. I was never a screaming teenie-bopper though! I followed the Beatles because their music was good, and there was something mildly subversive about it. They were writing about their lives and their own opinions on life.
And now I am a strong ARMY, though I am alone with this among my friends and family - none of whom understand me. I don;t much care : I have met so many people who are ARMY online and they completely get me! And there are hardly ANY teenagers among us - from 20s to 70s. In fact, Jino, I do like rap. I remember rap when it first arrived on the streets and we saw it on TV, and I loved it for its hard hitting poetry - and its reality. Now, No, modern American rap seems to be entirely fatuous and meaningless - simply holding up plastic standards and cheap (not cheap) money as desirable.
So, yes I listen to BTS cyphers and love them fr their genuine anger and courage.
I stay with BTS because of their message, and their raps might feel as if they are not about the same message, but they are. They demonstrate how to use your anger and your pain to lift yourself up and overcome those who might criticise and put you down.
The remarkable characteristic of BTS is just how consistent they are.

I always come back to your channel, to watch every uploads since I mostly miss the livestream now (so sad). Because in many ways, this has been my source of comfort during my days. Whether it's hard days, happy days, or whatever, your presence has kinda becomes my happy place. I rarely commented but I feel like I should today. There's just too many emotion watching this. But Jino, seeing you stop and compose yourself before speaking again when you're talking about BTS really make me think, ah Jino is indeed an army. But okay if you want to keep saying you're not 😂 The connections you have with them and us armys are just so evident. You understand us on such a deep level like no other non army will. So thank you again Jino, and to every Jinosaurs here, miss talking with you guys in the live chat 💜

Not sure if I can reach users "Magsun" and "Col A" and "flyushkifly" from the live chats, but I find comfort when hearing comments that are multi-faceted and understanding various points of views, but not being disrespectful or hating, simply pointing out facts, ideas, and observations. Whatever bias people have, is not necessary out of hate or malice, but may be simply unaware of certain "points" or "angles" into a situation. Everyone is at different stages and levels of understanding, and that's OK. And it's just a bit of OCD in me that couldn't help keep explaining and clarifying different viewpoints in hopes to enlighten or provide another path of understanding. Hence I wrote TOO MUCH, too eager and worry to clarify thoughts.
By the way, I've always thought about this, but no real chance to really say it. I've gone thru Jino's journey since back in 2019 when Boy w/ Luv came out, and sometimes in an "observer" mode I put myself in (same as sometimes when I look at how BTS's phenomenon developed all these years, stepping out of a "fan" mode into a "observer" mode from the outside looking in), I've seen changes w/ Jino, for the better, seeing an even wider range of thoughts and ideas. He's been in many different cultures already, and he's already fairly open-minded, but everyone, myself included, will always have some blind spots that haven't been brought to light by someone else. I feel he embraces the Cringy-ness more now, like when he first saw Jin and J-Hope on American interviews and couldn't help but cringe and feel second-hand embarrassment (but funny how he went around the DC neighborhood asking people "do you know BTS" making his livestream viewers cringe from 2nd-hand embarrassment, everyone has their own cringe triggers, haha), till now that he finds their crazy behaviors endearing (even though he may not admit it, always "shakes his head"... haha). There are stereotypes and biases thoughts we all have that we often don't even realize. Along the way when he watches contents, grow to love the member's silliness, and more open to... how to say, not feel "awkward" (to put it nicely) when talking about Korean music in a western environment (I understand, b/c I also came from an Asian country/culture then later live in the US, it's awkward to "reveal" Asian pop music and culture sometimes in public (C-pop and J-pop for me back then), esp. "back in the days" when Asian pop culture is not as common in the western environment, so hey, BTS did pave the way, b/c it's not as "weird" now as it was 2 or 3 decades ago). And then the latest realization moment when he was watching Rise of Bangtan Ch. 21, when the Ted Talk lady talked about "male" sport fanatics vs. "female" boyband fanatics, the imbalance between general public perception, the "hysteria" of it all. We do live in a male dominated culture in many parts of the world, and sometimes even more so in some Asian countries b/c of an even more conservative background, many men AND even women, don't realize the inequality imbedded in our deep minds. Not the overt inequality (right to vote, equal rights, equal pay, those types of obvious "surface" aspects, but HIDDEN inequality judgements that we don't even realize ourselves, unless being pointed out. I remember BTS going on that MBC radio show back in late 2020 after they were nominated Grammy's for Dynamite, but before the actual award show, the host (yes, older Asian man) comment something about WAP being popular just b/c of the dances or something. Honestly, at first at initial general view of the WAP MV, I didn't quite get it and was also shocked at how far they were putting it all "out there." But as I read into more text and comments from other women's views (supporting it, or at least explaining it), I also "realized" myself (hey, I was also conditioned by default from the social norms to think a certain way also, females shouldn't be promiscuous, etc., even females are conditions to think that way b/c of the environment we grew up in), that I realized it's to make a point, and when it's an uphill battle, artists often have to resort to EXTREME shock factor to get that point across. Like Lil Nas X's Industry Baby M/V as well. Or when people protest about racism, how people kept saying "this is not how you protest," but if you don't MAKE A SCENE, then people won't listen. So what is the RIGHT way to protect and effect change? RMEs... Many people being discriminated have gone quiet or try to be "model citizens" for so long to get accepted, but that doesn't make racism go away. Social change rarely come from subtle messaging, esp. when it's a very serious issue. Oh, so back to the radio host, same w/ many others, they see the surface shock factor, but not realizing the intended message, that equal rights INCLUDES approaches to SEX and expressions of SEX without double standards. While disappointed (b/c he's supposed to be a prominent musician and critic, having followed western music for a long time as well... although, does he pay attention to lyrics of western music? I don't know him well, just know he's supposedly well respected...), I am also somewhat not surprised. STUD vs. SLUT. Age old reality that made very slow changes, just like the stigma of women smoking vs. men, especially in Asia (I am against smoking for the record, I'm just talking about it in terms of social discrimination among what's considered as appropriate and acceptable behavior among genders in different cultures).
Anyways, one last comment I've been wanting to say for a long while (and now that I mention it so late in the long-ass texts, will probably get buried and not be seen anyways), I know Jino keep saying he's not an ARMY. I agree 50%. I think he's a FAN OF ARMY, b/c seeing how ARMYs love BTS so dearly, he appreciates the positive change and even on a larger scale, SOCIAL CHANGE, BTS & ARMY are both bringing to our societies. Sometimes I feel like he's in that "observer" mode like I do sometimes, looking INTO this phenomenon, and he is IN AWE of it all. So I'd categorize him as an INDIRECT ARMY. Hahaha... He is an ARMY thru living with ARMYs, not to BTS directly. My personal feelings. :-)

    • @lovelyy6491
      @lovelyy6491 Год назад

but like, would an observer invest so much time into something and actually enjoy the whole process for years? sometimes i think what holds him back it's just trying to keep the joke alive because it looks so obvious to a lot of people that he's a fan, he enjoys BTS contents and a good handful of their music and performances, that's a fan! a fan doesn't need to like every single thing. then other times i think he might be embarrassed to say he is an ARMY because he still have some prejudices against the community, you know how when he talks about music production and he thinks we won't care nor pay attention to that because "we'll love everything BTS do" but we're all from different backgrounds, i myself create music as a hobby, and my whole timeline on twitter gets filled with ARMYs talking about the creative and musical side of a new BTS release. so to me when he breaks outta that prejudice he'll realize he has been ARMY all along, we're not all equal minded, ARMYs are all different

Not many males, appreciate BTS, most of them shit on them so they can boost their toxic masculinities, there are a few men who respect BTS. I was talking to a friend a few days ago after posting on my social media their Run BTS performance during YTC concert and he is a straight man and he was wowed of their abilities, he said "I thought they were just doing cutesy and catchy songs, I didnt know they are monsters with dance too", he gained their respect and he said based on my frequent posts about them on my social media, he believes they are decent people. And they are! They are not perfect but they are decent people. My heart bursted at that moment and I was so proud of BTS.

Jino, my guy, I love you but I'm 67 years old and I absolutely adore their rap. I love their Hip Hop roots. Remember, Hip Hop was born in the 70's so lots of older ARMY have an affinity for it. I much prefer it to the westernized Pop songs they've produced. I'm not saying those are bad songs but just find their Korean based songs more powerfully authentic. And as a person who grew up in the '60s I appreciate their countercultural messages. Anyway, thanks for sharing time with us and your translation skills are very much appreciated, the subs are usually a mess.

I found it difficult to put into words or perspective why like everything about BTS even though I'm not much into K-Pop except for choreography. When you were explaining why BTS is special, i felt like you kept all my emotions in words.
Most celebreties look different or not real on camera, and good celebreties keep themselves distant from society to safeguard their goodness from the unbearable negativity and hatred. Somehow BTS transcended both, they make themselves available for people but still were able to keep their kindness, humility and positivity with all the negativity around them. This makes them special

Youngji was acting like that in every episode (my fav episodes were with Hoshi and Soobin) and if people would watch other episodes, they would understand that this is very normal for this show. This is her personality and if you think she is too much, go find less. It's as simple as that. No need to hate on her.
Jin was enjoying his time just like any other celebrity that was there. You all are just too sensitive when it comes to BTS.
The funniest thing was how you all were saying how extra/annoying she was, how she made him feel uncomfy bla bla bla but when he got drunk and acted the same way as her, you all were commenting how cute and funny he is.

Thank you for your words!! You are correct are 99% of what you said.
    My definition of ARMY:
    1) support all seven members (their are very different forms for this)
    2) treat yourself and others with kindness
Now Jino I would call you ARMY even if you don’t listen to all their songs (or like them. You want BTS to make the best music and, in my opinion, you not liking most their songs isn’t not supporting, because you want them to grow as artists too), Merch, have posters in the wall, etc. You wanting to help and support ARMY is supporting BTS, because they themselves love ARMY and what what is best for them. Also, you understand about BTS (being or representing the light and the joy) and ARMY.
However saying BTS isn’t directed towards you or target group I will disagree with you. BTS is very all ages, genders, cultures, races, etc. (so that makes you the target group). People searching or finding the light or wanting to be in the light or share light is the target group. THAT IS YOU JINO. So while you might not feel like ARMY; let’s be real here though what is an ARMY suppose to feel like (especially since we are all different); I believe you are one. Idk just my opinion though. You wanting what is best for us and for BTS makes you ARMY.

But Jino, if BTS had to do free concerts for "national interests", it would be doubly unfair for them.
No Exemption for BTS, but they still have to perform concerts without getting the $$$ as compensation? The Profits will go into the military's pockets, not BTS, for sure!
So, it will be a double whammy for BTS if this happens.

Exactly. The government deliberating on this decision for so long means that they are unwilling to give them the exemption (I think because it sets a precedent that other idols should be exempt) and they don’t want to lose billions of dollars generated by BTS. Seriously unfair for the guys if they’re to perform in the military.
