Hello, thx for your great Videos. My question is: Can I also use an combinated Volt-/Ampere-Meter. How I must connect the yellow cable to Poti or to Amperemeter?
you should've mentioned connections on power supply, rather than the colors of wiring. Digital control board and mechanical has different wiring colors as well as connections, but making such a control panels makes them identical. Perhaps you could do wiring scheme? Thanks
So your air assist is 24v ?. I have some switches that are rated for 230v with a 24v led ring, can I use them to power 220v items and still.have the illuminated Ring ? Thanks for your help.
Hi Stewart, this is possible but you would need to rectify the switched mains voltage to power the LED or use a relay. It gets a bit complicated that´s why I used a mains switch with a neon light in it..
Hi, big thx from Germany for sharing it with us. I learned a lot watching your videos about the k40. Can you please describe how to check if the K40 is properly grounded? There are lot of stories about the problem.. But I still haven't found someone who describes how to check the grounding or how to do it properly.
Hi I´ve never had an issue with the earth but you can check it with a meter between the earth connector on the plug and metal part of the body on the machine, it should be close to 0 ohms.

First of all I love the videos, thank you so much for all your Laser help. Possibly a noob question but I have a 5 digit Ammeter and a 5 digit volt meter, Could I wire the ammeter up to the pot the same way as the volt meter. If its a stupid question I'm sorry. Keep up the great content
@@gridgamer4083 Thank you ,let me know how you go with this, Somebody already bought my latest machine from me so I may buy another one and try it with a digital display for the current.
@@letsfixit1594 I will be doing loads of upgrades on my K40 and the ammeter was the final bit of the puzzle. I had tried what you said but had no luck so I will try again as I'm sure I was doing something wrong. I only wish Id found your channel before doing everything else as following your videos would have been so much more time efficient and easier. I will keep you updated. Thanks again

Thank you for this new video, mine will arrive these days
Why do you have to link the negative of both power supplies?
Same question here

Why is the Ground of the 24V supply connected back to the main power supply?
Its so both power supplies have the same negative and there is no weird floating earth, which could cause issues.
What type of support are you using for the blower fan mounted on the laser head?
It´s a 3d printed one I designed, you can find the print files here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:4145412
@@letsfixit1594 Interesting, thank you! Did you used some 3d printed parts for the cable chain too?
@@PapLab No I bought that, you can find it on-line.
Do you have a link to that terminal? I can't find them anywhere

No problem, no an ammeter would have to go in-line, you could replace the original analog meter with a digital one, just by using the same wiring.
