She was so badass but yet so kind and polite. I loved her. Once I was in the same room as her in a class at Bard College. She terrified me. This dumbass of a freshman tried to provoke her, to punk her off. I thought for sure she was going to tear him to pieces. She did not. She merely took the opportunity to teach. It means more and more to me as the years go on and I grow into her writing as a 50 yo in ways I never could as a 20 yo. She was the best.
Yes, it was a bit much! I am lucky I got to see Ms. Acker read at the ICA in Boston MA in 1983. She was riveting, sexy and appeared so confident. I look forward to reading the new biography on her.
What an unbelievably terrible introduction. Seven minutes before Kathy Acker has an opportunity to say something, and then she says she's going to speak fast because she's worried about time. Tell me McRobbie left academia and interviewing and got a job in the food service industry.
McRobbie left academia and is working on an off-shore oil drilling facility in Alaska. She makes a lot more money and she doesn't have to try to have sex with her own Orcid ID anymore.
What was that play someone wrote about her life, where they ripped up a copy of Fifty Shades Of Grey? I saw it in Norwich Arts Centre, but have forgotten the name of it. A one woman, performance piece.
I met her a few time she was so kind. I found her work when I was 13 and she really saved my life.
What a genius she is ! Inspiration for our generation.

She was so polite and attentive during the eight-minute introduction. So eloquent, Ms. Acker.
Thank you for uploading this historic interview.

Thank you for uploading this.
I wonder what Kathy was thinking as this lady let out that long introductory analysis.

@@pashadyne I thought her introductory analysis seemed well thought-out and earnest.

The way the interviewer keeps saying “mmm” while Kathy talks sounds like a phone vibrating on a table
lol
I love you Kathy!!!
had no idea she wrote 'scared to fly'
I love how she says Uxbridge instead of Oxbridge
I like McRobbie in general, but she really should have shortened up her tedious and unnecessary introductory remarks.
