I don't put negative comments out here but I am going to on this. You made the comment that you get critiques posted on things you do. WELL, I think that is wrong! You are simply showing what works best for you. You've said many times on many video's you are not a quilter, nor am I. We do what works best for us! I think you're doing a fantastic job and very creative. Thank you for sharing your talents.
I’m a seamstress, patching jeans is a headache for me , but while watching I believe an Asian lady doing her patchwork , I learned something from her that helps a lot ! She used glue sticks around the jeans she was patching, then around the area where it’ll be applied , she then pressed it , that holds in place while you do your darning ! This is a life saver for me bcoz a lot of times I’ll poke my fingers with pins or it’ll shift ! I pressed my patches with a hot iron on both sides let it sit then finished darning ! When I saw you applying glue I thought let me suggest glue stick method really works , I’ve even seen ladies using on quilts , like you said this works for me try it !
I love your method to end the biding by cutting the point and then folding. My edges never look that neat. I'm going use this method from now on. Thank you
I made it but put the binding on before I folded it that way I didn't have any raw edge on corners. After I attached the binding then I sewed the flaps. Came out very cute. Thank you for the idea. I couldn't master it the other way. I'm happy with my card wallet.
Lorrie, from a 50+yr quilter, your binding technique is a great tip. Since the corners are bulky from the fabric being pre-quilted your technique will keep out any extra bulk from doing a regular binding. Way to go!!!!
Loved this tutorial & if people are judging you for not doing it “right” they’re not worth your time! I’m just happy to be learning new things & being a maker! Thank you!🤗
Allot of quilters also say "done is better than perfect". Girl, you should see some of the whack-a-doodle things I do too get something to "work". Love your tutorials because they are written for all levels of prior knowledge. I always learn something!
I love the idea about the binding and the point with the glue. Great idea
Lorrie, I’ve been sewing for many decades and I think you’re doing just fine. You don’t have to be a quilter or puriest to sew well. You’re great at video teaching of techniques - perfect! I’ve been having a ball doing all your PW placemat projects, getting all the ladies in my guild excited about making these projects to the point that it’s hard to find any PW place mats in the stores. Good sign!
Oh my goodness...I was just at Wal-Mart and looking at these placemats wishing someone would do a wallet tutorial!!! Thank you so much!!
I've made over 300 quilts and I think how you did the binding was great. I'm doing mine like you did for this project.
Lori thank you so much for these placement tutorials. I have made a few as gifts. This is going to be for me.
That’s a good bonding for this wallet. I am a quilter and I can tell you that bonding I all the way around would make it far too bulky, especially when mothering the corners. And if you seeed it across the bottom of the pockets, it would shorten each of the pockets by 1/4”. That’s a good job and I really like the bonding you used. 😄😄😄
I am a quilter and would never think to do the binding that way, but it is a great idea! That way really cuts down on the bulk of the binding. Great job!
That binding tip was awesome. I was sitting here watching and actually said out loud, that is genius.
Well, it isn’t how I do binding as a quilter but applaud your inventiveness. I think that works perfectly, so don’t worry about what we quilters do!
I am a very advanced quilter and I thought your tips for the binding were outstanding! Great tutorial.
I'm really enjoying your placemat toturials! I'm not a designer but i have an idea for a placemat project. A manicure/makeup brush kit using elastic to make individual places for your items like clippers, scissors and a nail file.
this is really cute. You could also use it for tea bags or your sweetners.
I LOVE all of your placemat projects! I've made them all for me and friends. In fact, we are using your ideas for our make and take days at the quilt shop and folks are loving them. (-: Thanks so much for taking the time and trouble to share your fun and easy ideas with us.
You did a great job teaching us that we don't need to be quilters to make them. Thank You. :)
I just finished making your place mat cosmetic bag the one you used with the 3' boxed corner one. Love it now I want to make all of your stuff, Thank you for showing and sharing all that you do.. You are a great teacher it just sometimes takes me a little longer to understand directions.. Great job
This is such a cute idea. I will be going to Walmart tomorrow for some placemats. Thanks for the ideas.
I think this one is a bit advanced for me! But I love it! Your sewing projects are my favorite- I have the maker because I wanted to sew again. I used to sew Barbie clothes and now at 49 I can’t even recall how to thread my machine up anymore! LoL
Hi Lori. Happy to see you doing sewing videos for we all know you're an awesomepapercrafterguruknowhatyouknow gal! Say that 2 times fast. Thanks Lori for sharing.
I am a quilter and I think that’s a great idea for binding
I think the seam binding being only on the ends look great and being all the way around would not be better. Thanks for sharing
Lorrie I am a quilter and I would do the binding the same way, perfect.
Darlin don’t no mind to anybody on the way you do things! You do what ever works for you!
Thank you for the inspirations!! I’m returning to sewing after 30 years and I am VERY excited to make this and the other project!!😎❤️🇺🇸❤️
I love your tutorials, they have really inspired this totally novice sewer to take the leap. I made your zippered pouches and I think I need to try this now. Thanks again for the inspiration.
👏🏻👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻✨🌟⭐️🌟✨❤️😃❤️👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻🎉👏🏻🎉👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for your video, and especially for magnifying the marking you did for the magnetic snap placement (at 7:07). It really made a big difference! 👍🏻👍🏻
OH my goodness!! This is going to be my first sewing project.. I think i can do it! IT'S AWESOME!!
Lorrie, thanks for the fun & useful project. Great job explaining. 😊
You’re welcome! Btw there’s a new placemat project coming in a day or two 😊
Super cute! I’m loving all of these placemat projects! So hoping to do these with my granddaughter! Thank you!
I would use velcro instead of magnets because if you put a credit card or bank card, it would strip the card of its memory. The card wouldn't work anymore.
My daughter uses hers for cards and it has not affected them so far.. Has used for a year now.
My mother in law passed away in January, and I found a quilted vest of hers.... so of coarse I am thinking wallets for her daughters! I cut it into strips like you are doing, and putting one together as I type! Hope they turn out good.. it still smells like her :(
Very cute. You could add some lace, or a flower to the outside. Yeah! The label idea is perfect.
I find this a good idea, I am new to sewing bags and purses but this video has made it seem very possible for me, Thank you
I love these bags. Suggestion is a bag for shoes that can be used while traveling.
Thank you for sharing! I am new to sewing but can not wait to make everything With Placemats !!! So excited!! Thanks again !
This was awesome ... Can't wait to get back home to try this ... Been out of town working and I'm going crazy not being able to craft !!!! Thank you again Lorrie
This is adorable. You are VERY creative and this in genius. Thanks for your time in showing this. I'm a quilter and you did a fabulous job, don't listen to anyone who says different. Barb from AZ
Great job! Great idea!. Binding is just fine. I am a quilter. 👍
I love love love this idea. I made this and I sized one to fit my tissues. Now they match for my purse. 🤩🤩
I love this!!! This would make an awesome item for craft shows! I am a beginning quilter and I really struggle with binding (hate those corners!) so I think your method here is just fine and it looks great! Thanks so much for sharing this!
I am going to most certainly make these. I am new at sewing, going to be my first project! Thank you very very much for the share and step by step! 💙❤️💙
Always looking for something small to use as a gift. This is great
Love this video. I tried quilting once and it was not for me but I think I could make this sweet little wallet. Thanks so much for sharing your amazing and creative talent. Blessings and Hugs from Canada!
Great Tutorial and thank you for this creative work. Will enjoy making these.
Again, you do a great job explaining and showing - how to.
Lorrie you look so pretty today with your makeup. Love your tutorials.

You do the best tutorials, and your sewing is just fine, you make it so easy to follow along. Keep up the great work. Looking forward for more fun projects. Thanks for all the time you share with us.
You do such clear instructions on your videos...I love it! I can even understand it! Lol. Nice job! Thank you!
I love it. Our quilt will make some for our quilt retreat in March. Thank you for tips.
I learn so much from you! I am new to sewing and your little tips and tricks are great!
You did great on the binding . I thought it was extremely clever!
These are so cute and look so easy to make. Thank you for sharing.
Kind of ingenious the way you finished the ends of the binding.
Thank you for the tutorial. You are looking fabulous. Please keep sending us new ideas.
Loved the tutorial especially the way you do your binding . I have so much trouble with it. your way seems so simple. cant wait to try it. thank you . Keep posting!
I'm a quilter and I think what you did for the binding was fine for a quick project! A suggestion though. On the magnetic clasp. Seeing as though you are cutting the mat. Can you separate the batting and put the prong part in there so that your cards, cash whatever you put in the wallet doesn't get beat up on the clasp? And no one will see the out side of the clasp if they look inside? Just a thought?
Sha-Leine Green that’s a great idea....I’ll have to try that, but wouldn’t you have cut threads showing on the underneath side? Maybe take a small piece of the mat - cut a small square and sew over it - but then you’ll see the sew lines on the top side....hmmm, something to ponder over
Ruth Drews no you wouldn't have to sew anything if you are talking about placing the magnetic snaps inside the pouch center so the metal won't affect the things you put in the inside. I would put a small 1" square inside with Pellon Peltex with the washer and the prongs to secure it one on each side so the snaps don't wear through your fabric. You already had to cut it in half so the inside is exposed. Then proceed and finish how she showed in the video. Hope that helps? If not please let me no! ☺
What a cute little card holder! A little too advanced yet for me, but love it! I also have to say wonderful editing, I love the magnified areas!
Thank you so much Lorrie ! For your great projects and for sharing them.
Instead of discarding the cut off binding unpick it & use it on one of your pouches to match the inside binding.
Dawn Mason fi
Dawn Mason, I just didn't cut the original binding off. I only had to make one new binding for the other side. And it was a different color and pattern, but still coordinated with the original colors.
You do such a good job in showing us how to make so many different projects. You make it look and seem like we can do it too. Thank you. ❤️ I've been telling all my friends to watch you too 😀❤️
Lorrie Nunemaker- You are so creative! I love these card wallets! Perfect gift for the ladies! Thank you so much for sharing the tutorial with us!
Judy Estrada thank you
Love all these placemat projects, Walmart is probably wondering why they are having this run on pioneer woman placemats
NANCY MAKELA , the cashier at Walmart asked me what I was going to do with 10 placemats!
I love this! You are very clever. Thank you so much for sharing!!😀
Oh my gosh I love your point/Elmer’s glue trick. Yay!!!
I rather use Velcro instead of magnet and a no sew I will use hot glue great idea I bought my placemats same as Lorri paid $3.47 each. Thank ya for inspiring me with this great project
Cute!! This would be great for carrying business cards!
adorable! I'll have to check out your other ideas for the place mats
I love this! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for your fun Ideas. Very clever using the placemats! Just started following you. Enjoying your sight! Thanks!
You could add a little tab with a round key ring so a person could go out and grab their wallet and keys together.
Super cute! I'm also going to try to lengthen it and make a checkbook cover.
Good idea!
Love all your placemat projects. Could you please try a checkbook cover with a placemat and video? I really need new cover. 😊
I love this idea but I love ALL your videos!
Thank you for your tutorial! Love them all 🐶
How can you not like this!!!
This is great. You make it look easy. I’m excited to try making a wallet. Where do you get your labels to sew into you projects?
Wonderful for gifts and yourself!!
Beautiful, love, magnets are perfect. I would pretty much would like to learn how to do a lop top cover, u think u can help me , enjoy so much your tutorials.
Very Cute. I love your bags tutorials. Now, to get busy. lol
So clever, bravo!
My WalMart does not have very cute placemats so I made a few bags with double sided quilted fabric... can I use the binding idea for the card compartments?? LOVE them!!
Totally enjoying your videos! As a knitter I was wondering about a tutorial for storing my needles. Especially when I'm in the middle of a project. Not sure if It's possible but couldn't you cut off 2 rows from the short side, add magnetic clips, leave ends open so the needles (I use circular needles) could be laid in. Clip shut. I can see it in my head, but clearly I'm not good at translating my thoughts.
A new project for me, one of each I want to make, thank you, great Christmas gift
Like them my girl friend and I are going to make some of box bags and one of these thanks for sharing
Loving your new camera setup! Another awesome vid! Thank you
Thank you for an amazing tutorial 💕
Hi Lorrie!! Love these projects & your videos!! Where would you suggest having personalized tags (brands) made?
Lorrie, you ROCK!!! Great tutorial!! Thank you😍😘
Hi Lorrie
Wondering if you have by chance a pattern for double pouch tutorial
For your glasses reading and sun glasses within the same pouch and also a smaller version.
Fun wallet. I have to get busy. I finally finished my Brightpad bag.
I would use Velcro if you putting your credit cards in..The magnet may damage the strip on the back of the credit card... As a quilter have to tease you on the binding but in all seriousness it is an interesting way of binding..Never seen it done and am curious how it would work on a larger project. I like to hand bind my quilts I am thinking I may have to get half a dozen of these placemats and make a large quilt......I have made a ton of your little zipper bags with some alterations and just love them....But I do believe I see a quilt in the near future.... Great ideas for placemats..
OH... didn't even think about that..good point!
J Eilers I a
Ways say "do what works for you " and this binding worked for me. Lol. I improvised on the fly
I had to tease about binding too, less binding to work with this way. I use one raw edge and stitch 1/4 inch, then fold over the rest and hand stitch, just as I do with any size quilted project! Cute wallet idea though...and pouch. Elizabeth
Hi Lorrie, your projects are so cool and you make it seem so ‘doable’ for beginners.
Could we use the kam snap closures in place of the magnetic snaps?
I have loved and made and gifted to my friends your magnetic measure tape snap closure purses from your tutorial. Thank you.
This is wonderful. I would love to try this!
Thank you i just love it way you made it.
Very cool...very easy!
