Hi Matthew. That's a really good recording of the route on its first day (with appropriately good weather for it). I also really liked the discussion during the trip. It sounded almost as if it was scripted. Really clear and so well informed in content about things. Great work.
Hi Matthew, well done videoing the first day of the Parramatta Light Rail line in public service. They certainly did a great job completing it all. Anyway, take care. Rob in Melbourne Australia.
the priority signals while not perfect are a much better improvement than when the city line opened in 2019. there is room for improvement - benaud oval was way too long.
Yeah, I noticed that as well. If a controlled intersection is just somewhere between tram stops, I can see how the priority would probably be triggered by a tram's approach. However, I wondered about how the priority works when a station is right before a controlled intersection (like at Benaud Oval). If the tram is given priority as it arrives at the station there is a risk traffic will be stopped while the tram is still busy loading or loading. On the other hand, if priority is given by the tram preparing to depart, it might not always be reasonable for traffic to be stopped almost immediately.
I know what you mean, but I'm also glad that a lot of the old 'ribbon cutting hoopla' isn't done any more. Government media officers must hate it, but I like the better authenticity, the strong presence of true transport fans, and the simple but appropriate thanks to the people present who got it built and operating.
Nice video! Great POV of the light rail!

Why was I on that exact light rail? Should’ve said hi but I didn’t see you.

I’m so sick of the government posting train events on weekdays :(
