BMC did this bike right with the excellent colors and the redesigned handlebar, I think this is a must for there new road bikes, this is for sure a candidate for a one stop bike and can be used for gravel and then buy another pair of wheels for road bike. they didnt an excellent job, now 12,000 and no power meter, that is another story
Technically from what I know, wider handlebars and longer stem is better for stability. So I guess they increased the reach in order to be able to have a longer wheelbase.
Fantastic bike and review as always! With the factory gearing is it possible to road this bike on road tires? Or is it too short so basically bo high speeds over 30mph?
An absolutely great looking bike….GC, you are right on, 12 grand and no power meter! Also, a brand new gravel design and no down tube storage compartment?
At least half of the spacers must be removed pronto like, this hurts the eyes...😀 White bike is not a bad idea. Yes it does shows dirt but also masks scratches real well. The nightmare of the highest order is matt black.
great stuff, if you can do a real-life testing of this bike (or the crux) on the road and see if it can keep up with group rides and maintain speed, of course with a less tyres wheels like a 28mm. if this performs well on the road, it sure is a do-it-all bike!!! again great breakdown, you are the master of breaking down a bike!!!! thank you for this!
Definitely can keep up with road bikes. I own a Cervelo Aspero, eith 2 wheelsets, one road with 30mm vittoria corsa control tires, and you keep even race/crit race on it. If youre strong enough, you could keep up with 38mm gravel tires on a group ride too.
@@misterdapper754 thank you for your reply! and i think the 42 T 10-44 setup thus have alot of low and highs on climbs and on flat! thoughts on this gear ratio?
Thanks so much!!! it can for sure keep up on the road, I have so many people who bought cruxs form me with the same stokc gearing and they threw on 30c tires smooth and are riding in fast pased group rides like 25-29mph gropups, the bikes do not hold back anyone, and this bmc is the same category this thing is basivally a top tier road bike just with fatter tires, a great dual purpose bike
It’s beautiful I’m watching the UCI gravel world event in Italy women’s race in the French rider Pauline Ferrand Prevot if I spelled it correctly is riding one right now !
urs is more endurance and comfortbale base, this is more on the fast balls to the wall style race, maybe shorter styles not saying this cant be ridden for long periods of time but the urs has the shocks and the comfy side of things
I have the Urs LT1 . It is fast . It has a front shock absorber that can be adjusted to terrain. This one has similar dampening but not under rider control during fast paced terrain changes. I did my first ride ,46 miles over gravel in 106 degree weather. No rider fatigue. Mine is covered in Dyed bro camo coating . No chance of damage to paint.
GC Performance always complaining about bike prices. Remember these are elite buyers who want to spec their own power meter. ;-) What do you do with fit for a buyer in practice with all of these integrated parts? Should I get a fit end then pick brand and model based in that?
hahhahaha, and yes this is the challenge to these things, is that if you have to change stem lengths or maybe the bars do not work for you, then you have to contact bmc to get new ones which I am sure are expensive but I would assume that if you are buying a 12k bike from a store they are going to get you dialed in before pulling the trigger
Agree. Don't have the Kia dealer selling Ferrari. I love GC but talking about price and who would buy it is not appropriate from an elite dealer like himself!
You did not mention the weird geometry: the bike has the same stack as the Teammachine and way more reach, forcing you to run a ton of spacers with a short stem to achieve a gravel position which ruins the look of the bike quite a bit.
yea more reach but they counter that with a shorter stem, more reach for a stable ride and the shorter stem is for better control, also they raked out the front wheel a little bit as well
@@GCPerformance18 Oh damn! They are hookless now? Swear to god one of my friend bought a pair which are clinchers and the decal looked exactly the same…

Love the white 1 piece handlebar/stem. They should have matched the seatpost in white too like the trek madones.
Would have been cleannnnn
،👌👍
Time to sell, they are getting reamed next week!
I think my comment got removed lol
damn ream teasing gunna give me blue balls!
Pauline Ferrand-Prévôt won the UCI Gravel WC with this bike yesterday. She had pretty much the same setup with a powermeter on the spider of the crank
I'm not really into gravel but this is a bike i wish i had.
same gravel is not for me but this color and build is nice,
Is a Gravel Race bike basically a road bike with bigger tire clearance? What other design differences are there?
longer reach so like top tube, more raked out front wheel for better wheel traction and also shorter reach stem for better control
Technically from what I know, wider handlebars and longer stem is better for stability. So I guess they increased the reach in order to be able to have a longer wheelbase.
At 12 grand it should come with a guy to clean it after each ride, free of charge naturally… Damn those prices are ridiculous… 🤬🤦♂️
hahahhaha shit that would be nice actually work out a deal with stores to have a clean for free for the first year 5 times
@@GCPerformance18 we have car washes why not bike washes? There is a nieche… 😅
The 303 firecrest are some of the most popular gravel wheels lol and yes hookless
Yes they are. I know this for sure

Safi Works now work with BMC... hopefully they will incorporate more of his gorgeous Gravel frame design in future.
thats awesome!!! maybe there will be some nice vids
Love it! I agree that for that price you should get a PM with. You should make a video of Factor Ostro Gravel with SRAM Red 👌
if I can get my hands on some factors I would love to but no one around me has any
This is like my 2021 Superior x RoAD team bike for 2,200 money :)
An absolutely great looking bike….GC, you are right on, 12 grand and no power meter! Also, a brand new gravel design and no down tube storage compartment?
yea I know right, the downtube I can be okay with but I mean they have to include a pm
Not completely sold on a white stem, white handlebars either….would need to see the bike though.
A very good bike! But I can find the cables under the handlebar.
At least half of the spacers must be removed pronto like, this hurts the eyes...😀
White bike is not a bad idea. Yes it does shows dirt but also masks scratches real well. The nightmare of the highest order is matt black.
yea I know it is a stock bike so a customer should change it soon
another great review GC! Keep it up :D
thanks so much!!! I am trying to be more consistent now that some inventory is rolling in

yea they killed it with this build!!!
Damn if they made a teammachine frameset in this colorway this would be mine 🤍💚
[insert random price rant here] :D
lmao!!!! (insert last video here)
How does this compare to the BMC URS gravel series?

Hey GC, have you ever come across or have sold belt driven bikes. I found out about them recently and they seem like the ultimate commuter groupset
yes we have sold some commuter bikes and also electric bikes run them alot too
Lovely bike!
It sure is!
Kaius01 one bike has 42T(teeth) chainring, I want it to be 50T fitted. Can I order a 50T-customized Kaius01 one bike.
I dont think so I think bigest is 48
Great Bike 😍
It really is!
3:23 Did that cockpit crack or what? 😮
yes lol
the white on the fork looks different to the frame, that would drive me mad, especially on a 12k bike
really? I didnt know this
You can run tubes on a hookless rim as long as you use a tubeless tire (can't you ..?)
I dont know, I dont think so, I think the tube puts to much presure on the tire sidewall
no you are right, it can be done as lon as it is a compatible tire
Oh my... $12,000 😱
yea shit is expensive lol
Super clean gravel bike with a high end price tag .
Looks over priced in my eyes but I’m no expert.
Great video as always 🚴♂️👍🚴♂️👍🚴♂️👍
thanks so much!!!

I’m at 500mm bars 😂😂😂
12000 😵 Is a Lot 🤪
hahahah
Wow that seat tube cutout has NO clearance. That's gonna survive half of a gravel race before the seat tube gets destroyed
hahahha just chucking rocks at the downtube
I would have gone with black bars and spacers.
I think they should have used white bartape too.
hahahha
I think it would look off after seeing it all white, I like it alot
Just for you rich folks out there 😂
Can i used diferent water cage’s?
yes u can
lol, what is with that stem stack? ...aero width on a gravel bike.
it is astock bike they will cut once they find a buyer
time to sell my urs
yes I like this platform way mroe then the urs in my opinon
10:00 hooklesssss
Thank you so much
12k!!! looks stock
super stock lol
12 thousand? dam man, i can buy a car for that. wtf.
yea this is true, you can also buy a car for 2000 as well, just two different types of cars
What is price this bike
12,000
This bike just won the women’s gravel world championships
damn that is a nice win for bmc!!!
Was never a fan of the color matched stem spacers that bmc does.
really? I love it, it is unique to the cycling industry
A lot of the people buying this bike have a car that’s in the arroyo
hahahha, that is the case for alot of high end bikes
That doesn't look like anything I would want to use on gravel even I was racing.
it is very aggressive, pretty much a glorified road bike
