As a reminder, AtGames sent me the ADDAMS FAMILY pinball to review, but no money changed hands, I do not (and have not) work for AtGames, and no promises were made as the what I would say. They don't get a preview copy of the video; you guys get to see it first. My opinions are my own, and are unbiased as I can make them, but as always do your research and don't just take my word for it.

Big 'ol firmware patch for the 4KP - but does it influence you at all in terms of your interest in this machine?
How long is AtGames letting you keep the machine for? Seems like it has been a couple of weeks already.
With the flipper lag fixed. I am ready for the new skins. Let's get that Star Trek!
Great news on the Addams Family table. I'm in the UK and I've been waiting for a decent patch before I place a pre order with Liberty games. I'll be doing that very soon. Thanks for the upload.👌🏽
My pleasure! Glad you got something out of it. Again, I can't say what else the patch did until I do a bit more hands on research, but definitely a massive improvement for the title table. Night and day better. Definitely gives me hope for the other, yet to be released/announced Zen tables.
Yeah I actually saw the patch notes from Atgames and I could of swore this wasn't mentioned as an actual fix, but hey I'm not complaining. Your videos are really clear and you explain stuff really well. I look forward to your next video going into a bit more detail on the other things they fixed as well. Keep up the great work. Thanks Ron! It was a little shocking how much better an experience it was. It was playable before, but with the now lethally-accurate plunger and elimination of lag, it's both a lot more fun and more "real" feeling. And looking at that footage again, I do think the playfield's a bit sharper too (although I can't prove it).

Hi JDV, I am glad you posted this video. I called my buddy TM from Arcade Talk and I said the flippers are WAY better since the update. The funny thing the Plunger was better than OTG before the update. The Gottlieb tables are as good as they are gonna get until a total redo from Zen or someone else. THe Audio does need some tweaking on the Gottlieb tables but they are not too bad, esp since they credited me 5 per pack. Time to put in the control panel and enjoy all of the tables OTG and from Atgames. Really looking forward to the new tables coming soon!
Hey Carlo, glad you liked it! Def a huge improvement to the plunger and flippers - ADDAMS FAMILY now plays exactly the way it should. Hoping to get a lot of stick time in tonight on the Gottlieb tables; looking forward to new Zen tables too. How's OTG working on your end since the update?
@@evilgeniusentertainment OTG is pretty dialed in though I think I need to do another config for xpadder now that the control panel is in. A powered USB is a must and fiddling with Nvidia and Zen settings to get the picture right. I had screen tear that was resolved in the nvidia control panel Vsync to Fast and Low Latency to Ultra improved flipper lag in FX and Pinball M. FX3 didnt have any issues, thats Zens engine, while Pinball M and FX are based on Unreal Engine. I rate the Native Addams Family and Snoopy very close to the OTG variants now, FX has some lag even on my pretty decent gaming pc, 12900k, 3080ti.
Yeah, there's actually a wee bit of lag on a few Steam/Zen tables even on gaming PC... so well done AtGames. I really wasn't expecting to be as good an experience as it was.
Lag is still there unfortunately. You can tell after you drain your last ball. The music theme flipper snap should be perfectly synced to the music. It's closer, but still pretty off. Hopefully they fix it soon.
Def closer - I also think if the game's been on for while, it slows down a bit. I've had the same thing happen on VPX if I forget to turn the fan on my GPU. Luckily, no lag as far as I can tell on the Gottlieb's, so that's good.
@@evilgeniusentertainment I've noticed that a little too. It's good to see they're working on the issues. I've been really happy with the machine otherwise. Great build quality and features.

For sure - it's not 100%, but certainly better. From playing it for about 3 hours straight, I do think 2 things can increase the lag - long playing times (presumably the heat generated slowing down the CPU) and having the effects on. It seemed to play with a bit more delay after I played through a bunch of Gottlieb tables, then went back to ADDAMS with the effects on.
Heck yeah, so happy At Games fixed this. Playing Zen tables straight from your pinball machine without a PC is really awesome for alot of people.
That's what I think too. It is very nice not having to mess with turning on a PC. I understand that you can set up PC to do just that, but here it's all done for you. Very nice one-stop-shop experience for most people I'd think.

Hopefully they add a setting to adjust the orientation. My playfield looks slightly smashed vertically.
That's going to be biggest potential change left, other then maybe gamma/brightness controls. Now of course, the Zen games on Steam offer multiple viewing angles (although not infinite as on VPX or FP) so you'd think it'd be possible to do it. I believe they said they were working on it....
Me too, doesn’t look quite right. Same for some Gottlieb tables too. You can tell right off the bat with Black Hole, the ball looks very squished.
BLACK HOLE and HAUNTED HOUSE were wide-body tables, making them not ideal pins for a 32" playfield. The angle used for JACK OPEN is a poor one as well. The ability to change orientation will hopefully be fairly high on their list of improvements down the line.
Interesting and great feedback. Weird I didn’t any feedback on the Facebook official forum. Didn’t see any updates for the Zen table in the patch notes , so maybe these are some stealth and non-promoted improvements?
It was a big patch, but yeah, it's entirely possible it was a stealth in terms of AF. I'm going to do a video on this soon, but hopefully AG continues to tweak ALL of their tables trying to get the max out of them. That's the one awesome thing about VPX & FP, there's gradual improvements done to almost all of the major tables.

Great video and great update! I can finally play the Addams family table and use the control deck in OTG mode! Very happy with this purchase (VPX, Future Pinball, FX3, FX, M all work as expected 9.5/10. My only wish would be a 120hz screen replacement option down the road but that can wait ;-)
Overall…far exceeds my expectations at 1799CAD
Looks like it plays fine to me. Have not seen one AFM out in the wild yet. Still waiting on my pre-order.

@evilgeniusentertainment Absolutely nothing yet. I been checking my Email numerous times a day too, lol! Extremely excited as I totally enjoyed AFM on the A1Up table. This should be epic compared to that

Its better but not there yet, still unplayable, and sound quality is not loud and crisp like zaccaria tables, gottlieb tables sound is so low and bad quality still….
Oh now, it's plenty playable (some brand new crazy high scores prove that), but it's not perfect. I like the sound on ADDAMS; I also think it's the best implemented SSF. But one of the things I want to see going down the line is the ability to control & place each sound element as in VPX. That would go a long way to making it sound even better. I'm digging that 2nd Gottlieb pack right now.
The high scores show that it is more than playable!
I hate to say it, but still feeling significant lag on the Zen tables even after the update. Bummer man.
Flipper lag still the same to me and I have leafs.
I dont get it. I check fo update on my machine, it says up to date. I updated it yesterday, but there is still a noticeable fliper lag in adams family and the plunger is far from perfect.
I updated to Firmware v6.0.11 and there is a HUGE decrease in flipper lag from previous FW. Check your firmware version in Device Info. Whereas before it was maybe 75%, now it's more in the 90% of where flipper lag should be.
There were 2 separate updates, maybe the 2nd one didn't take? I mean that plunger is completely different now, and there's def less lag (if any).
Yeah, there might be a smidge of lag left (if any), but it's vastly better. Put another way, multi-ball is now playable!
@@Litespeed0 yea I got version 6.0.11 I only got the machine yesterday. I guess I did not experience the lag you guys had before, so I can't compare, but compared to magic pixel tables, I feel it's still way worst
How about Peanuts? Is that now lag free also?
If the lag gets better but I get worse what does that mean? Also did the dmd get some color change that was not there before?
I'm starting to think that heat generated from the game being on for long periods of time might be affecting the lag. Played AF after the update in a very cold Gameshack, and there was almost no delay (as the video shows). Played Gottlieb pack #2 for about 3 hours getting b-roll, then went to play a couple of games of ADDAMS FAMILY and the lag was a bit worse. So that might explain some the uneven experiences people are having? Gotta do more testing today....
I definitely wouldn't consider Addams Family fixed by any means. Is it less laggy? Yes. Is it as playable as it should be? Nope.
The lag may be gone, but I still stink at that machine. 😊😊
I would say maybe 1 out of 20 games I hit my stride and do pretty well on Addams Family, but most of the time I do terribly as well. "The Power" is brutal.
Oh yeah - it's a crazy hard table. I honestly do not know how some of the those scores exist (and even before the updates!). I think the top 10's already been changed since the firmware. Very happy to start playing Gottlieb tables as I think I might finally be tiring of ADDAMS FAMILY kicking me in the teeth!
It's also the most brutal multi-ball too. A very hard game....
