  • We took a trip to Kentucky and met up with Nick ‪@pissednbrokemowers1133‬ and Rich from ‪@RichieRichOverdrive‬ for our first group ride.
    That was a learning experience for us, you guys taught us a ton of stuff and gave us confidence we didn't have before.
    Plus we found out weak points on our tractors and riding technique.
    Thanks Again! Looking forward to riding with ya'll soon!

    Looks like yall had a blast and did some good stuff. Plus looks like yall were able to get riding tips and tested your tractors. And the kiddos seemed to do a lot of learnin on their ridin skills. Have a great day be safeish.

    Had an awesome time riding with you guys! I love the synchronized swerving part, lol. I still need to practice my two wheel riding. That possum ridge place looks pretty cool too. Hope to see you out on the trails again!

      @@RichieRichOverdrive 😄 the reason I split it into three parts is because when I took that footage, I had the phone up right so it would not make a full screen on the video. That’s probably the most complicated editing I know how to do 😅
      We loved every minute of it, we talked about it all day, Sunday and all night Saturday.
      We definitely want to ride again with you guys and if you want to, we can plan on whoever wants to come out to our place and ride our our trail too.

      @@creepycrawler43 yes sir! It was really cool to finally get out and meet/ ride with some mower guys! I’ve watched tons of footage from all types of rides but it’s definitely different to see in person. My boys and I learned a lot in a short amount of time and found weak points in our rigs already. We are very happy and grateful we were able to be out there that day. Definitely looking forward to riding again and hopefully meeting even more people, including yourself! Nick and Rich are such cool guys and we were in great hands that day!

    That 214 is almost exactly how I envisioned building one myself. I had planned to use a 216 but there isn't much difference. Something cool about bringing it to an offroad park while everyone else has 4 wheelers, and you ride in on your John Deere.

      @@BlackFlagGarage all the 200 series are the same throughout the years, with very minor differences. The only difference in the numbers 210, 214, 216 is the engine hp.

    • @Tennesseemountainhomestead
      @Tennesseemountainhomestead  4 месяца назад

      @@pointlinesquare thank you! I love my kids and do everything I can to teach them what I know. Those boys can do a lot! As in they know how to work. We’ve got a video coming out soon where we cleared the trail behind our house up the mountain. They worked cutting trees and moving brush for days.
      Anyway when he rolled over he was barely moving. He was on a slope and tried driving over a small fallen tree. It kicked the rear tire just right and he went over. Definitely not a big deal but there are for sure situations that can be. On these tractors it’s important to be aware of everything at all times because they have a lot of torque. They can easily get into a bad situation quick. They are very tippy because they have almost no suspension. The key is to shift your weight around. Also having tires aired down almost flat really works well. I figure if someone can drive one of these off road they can drive anything else with ease 😅

    Man.... that looks like an awesome time! Hey, if you didn't break something, I'd question if you worked it hard enough. LOL I was looking at one of your old build video's. Looks like maybe you can upgrade those ball joint to a heim? Just food for thought. Seemed like Ethan had to pull start the minibike quite a bit? Maybe coincidental video edits. Otherwise he did kill it with that thing. Seems to have great control. I couldn't help but cringe when Steffen flipped over. Looks like the Wheel Horse took it fine. Hated to see if the hood would bend. Those are some tough tractors. Steffen looks to be getting pretty comfortable with his tractor too!

    • @Tennesseemountainhomestead
      @Tennesseemountainhomestead  4 месяца назад +1

      @@MightyRaze absolutely I’m going to do heim joints on a new draggling and also replaced the ball joints on the tie rod with them too. I also need to put steering stops because I think that’s what broke it to begin with.
      The mini bike runs great and I’m not sure why it kept stalling out. Maybe the idle needs to be adjusted up a touch. Steffen did not tear up the hood of his tractor when he flipped over but the steering wheel he just put on there got bent. We need to get him some wheel spacers and a bit wider of a tire. He bought those tires and that’s what he wanted because he thought anything wider would rub the gas tank. he got that from some RUclips channel. I don’t know which one but I just took him for what he said and didn’t second-guess him. He could easily run a 10 or a 12 on his wheels I think and be fine. He’s also ready to get rid of that Kohler magnum. He’s got his heart set on a small V-twin. I told him in the meantime we need to try and put a Nibbi slide carburetor on it with a gas pedal and see if it wakes it up some. He needs a gas pedal, regardless, we’ve been avoiding it because we don’t want to push our luck and cause issues with his motor being that it’s so old. But we don’t really have a choice The dash throttle isn’t working very good for him on these trails and he definitely needs some more horsepower.
      I also need to invest in a GoPro or something because we could not bring our normal camera. It’s just too bulky and I didn’t want it to get broken. So all the footage was done on my phone and Ethan is normally the camera man, but he couldn’t do much riding that minibike , so I took what I could but even for me it’s a pain to drive on those trails with one hand!
      I also learned that my transmission likes to pop out of first and second gear with no throttle input engine breaking down hills. I don’t know if another transmission would be like mine with that problem but until I deal with that problem, I have to hold my gearshift over in second gear to get breaking. Third or fourth gear is way too high and doesn’t provide any sort of engine breaking downhill. Also need to revisit my locker because when I use my break, it sounds like a bunch of marbles being shaken around in a box when I use it and the only thing I can come up with is, the differential axle gears bouncing back-and-forth from welded tooth to welded tooth and that’s where it’s generating all that noise from, makes me not even want to use the brakes. It’s a great thing that we put that skid plate under his tractor also because he definitely would have Impacted the belt guide had it not been there! we learned a lot that day that’s for sure but after riding those trails and watching those guys do what they do. I’m ready to send it up my trail in third gear. 😂

      @@kollinspencer847 yeah Steffen drove head first right into a drop off with waist deep water at the bottom. 10:30 at night too 😄. He’s lucky he didn’t get hurt really.
      That Lawn Ranger is rowdy though. The guy who owns it, @RichieRichOverdrive has it modified with full size parts like front axle, HD steering fabricated steering knuckles, Creepy Crawler clutch setup etc.
      He also has full size tractors but he told us since he’s been riding the Lawn Ranger that’s all he needs.
      Plus he’s super talented on all things tractor related. He could call his channel USPS because all he does is send it 😄

    • @RichieRichOverdrive
      @RichieRichOverdrive 4 месяца назад +1

      @@kollinspencer847Thats my lawn ranger, that thing is super tough and very controllable! I have a lot of videos of it on my channel. When i got it, it was already a little beat up so i didnt feel too bad about offroading it. All mods are bolt on, and the hood has a cage underneath to stop it from being squashed any more than it already has. That tractor could be put back to stock really easily. I have the stock front end with little wheels for it, even.
      Luckily these little tractors are sort of expensive, kind of puts them out of reach for the average offroad guy.
