I think another theory of them trying to revive the founder seems more likely. The way that mark and Gemma and his work is important to them that they bump his pay so he wants to continue working means there's something special there that they need. Most of us probably have guessed the MDR is refining some sort of code or signal of the brain. If it were installing their consciousness to the 2, why not the others like Dylan and Irv who are also working? My guess is Gemma being the cold harbour project mark is working on is important because she was dead, and they both became the test subject of reviving a person. If the cold harbour is successful then they can replicate that safely with the founders dan or something.

I think Gemma is the trial run to see if they can create an AI chip that's as close to a human as possible. That's why they're putting the numbers in each bin. They're actually creating emotion codes to make the AI chips feel authentic. I think the ultimate goal is to recreate the consciousness of Kier since the chips were made after he was long gone. I think there's a lot more to their plans, including cloning, but yeah 😊
Dope video, but I don’t think the pineapples are related to the gland. Good connection, but I think it has more to do with them putting something in the food. Pineapples are not in season and it’s the winter time but he brought them to everybody. And Cobell asked about that food specifically. I agree with that. I think the Helly we see as an innie has the real spirit of Helena and outie Helena is a front she puts on for her family. I mean, why would an influential family allow their daughter, their HEIR, get her brain cut up and her body abused? They see innies as cattle, possessions. They wouldn't send the heir to the throne to the severed floor UNLESS she is such a black sheep and rebel and embarrassment to the family that this is the way they control her: "Say what we want to the public and investors or it's back to the severed floor for you!" She hates her father. It's pretty clear.
I don't think the plan orignally was to bring them back. I think the plan was for mark to just finish cold harbor no matter what but when they saw it wasn't gonna work they brought the team back but the FIRST plan was the new MDR team i get it takes time to make all that stuff they said. but its a TV show i think thats why we saw the expeidted rush and if you remember when Milchick arrived at Dylans house he was out of breath he wasn't when he arrived at anyone else house it shows low key Lumon was in a panick and a rush to bring them back. i agree with a lot you said but i gotta push back on that one

But at 48:30 when Irv’s in the Wellness Centre, a bunch of moving numbers (13 of them) increasing & decreasing in range, can be seen on the top left of screen? I’m wondering if this is related to the experience of being told what his outie was good at and is it connected to the refining of data?
10:06 Irving has the most time with Lumon plus it looks like he has some military experience, and he didn’t seem to be sweating Milchick when he was being terminated.
My read on Mark being the only one that didn’t get fired is obviously he is really important for some reason. I think this goes back to the same reason he got the special bust mentioned in season 1. When he was first hired he refined faster than anyone. I think he is the first person who has made a breakthrough in their understanding of refining successfully. Like his sudden trauma and immediate switch to working at Lumon on Gemma showed them that in order to do it effectively and efficiently you have to have a deep connection to the person. I think he is the only person that has gotten this close to succeeding in whatever they are refining. Mark W. makes a comment that his team never met quota ever- I feel like no other team but Mark S’ has. They are so special to the point where they rehire these people who just screwed them over majorly and are a gigantic risk to them bc they have to. They have to get Mark S. Back to refining bc he is the only one who has shown any promise in helping them reach their goals.
A theory I got…Mrs Huang may be Mark and Gemma’s kid…cloned or something like that cause she’s over 2yrs old. Gemma couldn’t have kids and whatever happened in the accident I think there is some aspect of that.
Since watching the series when it first debuted, my initial thought is that Lumon is using ritualistic magic/technology to implant alters into people which is in essence what Severance entails. It creates alters within you and these alters I believe are the spirits of other people. In the case of Irving and Mark, both of their outties experienced quite traumatic events which seems to aid in the process of mkultra programming. In the case of the Eagan’s revolving, I think they place the spirit of each Eagan within the next Eagan. The core principles are used to MK ultra/program the main person so they can successfully carry the alters. I have some additional working theories but all in all this seems very esoteric, spiritual, hidden knowledge-esque to me

Love the idea of robots and AI. They could be teaching bay AI how to be human. I believe it can also stimulate brains that are thought to be dead. I think it is treatment for both physical and psychological trauma. I believe this because Egan had trauma and loss. I believe this because the whole idea is to make you into the basic you to create a new autobiograhical memory area in the brain. Basically... you live a whole life as an inneie.... inside the simulation ...and you are new and innocent. You have a mystery to solve. You have others with you who clearly have issues. It would be like having the childlike wonder inside you again.... and the loss and grief are lessened....while you are taken over by the sense of wonder the innie has for any and all experiences outside the severance floor. You would almost be like an adult trying to manage the excited and curious child inside you. I really want this to be true. I need this to be true. lol.
I definitely think that they are giving us the answer of why Dylan is severed. He immediately makes a comment about what is he going to tell his wife- then he is going to job interviews immediately and trying his best. The first thing he asks them about is benefits- specifically about health insurance. We hear his wife but never see her. She is there, but wasn’t there or wasn’t able to watch the son when the OTC was triggered the first time. It is said that he had had a string of temp job or short term employment before landing at Lumon. I think we don’t see his wife because she is sick in some way. He decided to get severed bc he HAD to. He needed the benefits a big company like Lumon can provide. He needed to immediately go get a new job bc he cannot go without those benefits. We know why Mark was severed, we have a good idea of why Helena was- as PR for legalization of severance by showing even an Eagan will do it it is so safe. Now I think we have a pretty good idea of why Dylan was severed.
I have not seen anyone mention this yet but something is up with Helena’s father. He does not seem like a real person to me! I’ve never seen him outside the dark room and there’s never anyone else around when he “appears”

But at 48:30 when Irv’s in the Wellness Centre, a bunch of moving numbers (13 of them) increasing & decreasing in range, can be seen on the top left of screen? I’m wondering if this is related to the experience of being told what his outie was good at and is it connected to the refining of data?

My read on Mark being the only one that didn’t get fired is obviously he is really important for some reason. I think this goes back to the same reason he got the special bust mentioned in season 1. When he was first hired he refined faster than anyone. I think he is the first person who has made a breakthrough in their understanding of refining successfully. Like his sudden trauma and immediate switch to working at Lumon on Gemma showed them that in order to do it effectively and efficiently you have to have a deep connection to the person. I think he is the only person that has gotten this close to succeeding in whatever they are refining.
Mark W. makes a comment that his team never met quota ever- I feel like no other team but Mark S’ has. They are so special to the point where they rehire these people who just screwed them over majorly and are a gigantic risk to them bc they have to. They have to get Mark S. Back to refining bc he is the only one who has shown any promise in helping them reach their goals.
A theory I got…Mrs Huang may be Mark and Gemma’s kid…cloned or something like that cause she’s over 2yrs old. Gemma couldn’t have kids and whatever happened in the accident I think there is some aspect of that.
Since watching the series when it first debuted, my initial thought is that Lumon is using ritualistic magic/technology to implant alters into people which is in essence what Severance entails. It creates alters within you and these alters I believe are the spirits of other people. In the case of Irving and Mark, both of their outties experienced quite traumatic events which seems to aid in the process of mkultra programming. In the case of the Eagan’s revolving, I think they place the spirit of each Eagan within the next Eagan. The core principles are used to MK ultra/program the main person so they can successfully carry the alters. I have some additional working theories but all in all this seems very esoteric, spiritual, hidden knowledge-esque to me

Love the idea of robots and AI. They could be teaching bay AI how to be human. They could be teaching the human brain to accept having their consciousnesses trained to be in a robot body or VR simulation.
I believe it is a complex simulation designed to manage grief and loss. I believe it can also stimulate brains that are thought to be dead. I think it is treatment for both physical and psychological trauma.
I believe this because Egan had trauma and loss. I believe this because the whole idea is to make you into the basic you to create a new autobiograhical memory area in the brain. Basically... you live a whole life as an inneie.... inside the simulation ...and you are new and innocent. You have a mystery to solve. You have others with you who clearly have issues. DO you know how many trauma survivors would give anything to do this. Just so that a little bit of them can have a break from the relentless memories of grief and trauma. I believe at the end they reintegrate.... the innie becomes strong enough to assist the outtie in living their life again. It would be like having the childlike wonder inside you again.... and the loss and grief are lessened....while you are taken over by the sense of wonder the innie has for any and all experiences outside the severance floor. You would almost be like an adult trying to manage the excited and curious child inside you.

I definitely think that they are giving us the answer of why Dylan is severed. He immediately makes a comment about what is he going to tell his wife- then he is going to job interviews immediately and trying his best. The first thing he asks them about is benefits- specifically about health insurance. We hear his wife but never see her. She is there, but wasn’t there or wasn’t able to watch the son when the OTC was triggered the first time. It is said that he had had a string of temp job or short term employment before landing at Lumon. I think we don’t see his wife because she is sick in some way. He decided to get severed bc he HAD to. He needed the benefits a big company like Lumon can provide. He needed to immediately go get a new job bc he cannot go without those benefits.
We know why Mark was severed, we have a good idea of why Helena was- as PR for legalization of severance by showing even an Eagan will do it it is so safe. Now I think we have a pretty good idea of why Dylan was severed.
I have not seen anyone mention this yet but something is up with Helena’s father. He does not seem like a real person to me! I’ve never seen him outside the dark room and there’s never anyone else around when he “appears”
