As a woman I am very glad there are multifemale fanvids, I think it is empowering, inspiring and much needed.
However, I would like to see less punching out of nowhere, when a female character feels betrayed/insulted/vengeful/etc. If there were such videos with male characters or just such acts in the series themselves, it would make for a small scandal. Fortunately men hitting women outside of combats/"official" fights is not commonly accepted in movies/series, but sadly the opposite is not.
What is your opinion on the matter?

About what you said, I understand where you come from but I don't think I agree. First, in this video I did not try to glorify violence in any way, men or women should under no circumstances use violence as a way to get what they want. BUT what I did try to convey is that women can and should fight back if necessary.
About what you said : "If there were such videos with male characters or just such acts in the series themselves, it would make for a small scandal", unfortunately, this type of argument is used every time minorities (women, persons of colours, the LGBTQ community...) feel offended about something the majority -- here I am thinking about straight white men -- said or did.
Here's a common example: the African American community feels offended when a white person paints his/her face in black, but the white person might respond "okay but if an African American person painted his/her face in white, I wouldn't be offended". Here, the white person doesn't understand why it is offensive, why it is wrong. Obviously I'm not going to digress on the entire American history, I'm sure you understand my point. It is the same here: as soon as a woman start using violence, and I would add, literally acting like men most of the times, it's "not okay because men can't do that to a woman". Can you see the irony ?

They did so to protect themselves, because they felt offended and/or humiliated (I don't know if you watched all the shows/movies but I would be happy to tell you what happens in details in a scene of your choice if you want). I really just tried to work with the lyrics of the song : "no one calls you honey when you're sitting on a throne" where "no one" here, clearly refers to men in general, as they've always been here to bring women down by calling them names and not believing in their capacities (I'm thinking about not accepting women in high positions of power etc..).
About the last thing you said: "Fortunately men hitting women outside of combats/"official" fights is not commonly accepted in movies/series, but sadly the opposite is not.", how can you say that "sadly" women hitting men FOR PROTECTION is commonly accepted? I am obviously not saying that all women are good and all men are awful. Of course not. But one women out of three dies every day from her husband's violence/abuse. I think we can ask ourselves : would it be less if those women were not so afraid of the man they thought was going to protect them? if they could fight back when necessary and find the strength to call for help ? I believe strong, fierce, and yes sometimes violent women in tvshows/movies, are here to represent this idea of not taking everything men say and do for granted and fight for oneself without being afraid of discrimination.

One thing I want to underline is I am in no way at all saying or thinking that your video is advocating women's violence. It is the series the clips are taken from that are.
That be said, might I be the devil's advocate on this one, I still think the strong response to an offence is not slapping the man in the face. I have watched most of the shows used and for some it was in response to the man talking down to the woman.
Would it decrease rape on women if we saw rape on men on tv? I think not. This example is a little extreme, I'll give it to you , but I think it illustrates the point.
Maze is not protecting herself from Lucifer, Mrs Robinson is not defending herself either, nor is Skye. They are hurt in their feelings by what is being said.
Now I don't want you to think I disagree with what you say (appart for the cultural appropriation thing). You are totally right to bring up to horrifying number of women who get beaten up and killed by the men supposed to care for them! I am 100% with you on that.
We simply cannot answer verbal violence by physical violence, violence by violence or at least we cannot put it in a "good light". The way those scenes are currently realised, it glorifies the slap as a show of power, where I think it is just stooping as low as the opponent.
Come on girls, we can do better, we are stronger than that. Their raw violence is not going to be met by more raw violence!
