      Yeah to me, "watching a beautiful sunset at noon" is very much like watching something happen too soon. We're all used to daily life, but if our sunset happened mid day, we would all be thrown off.

    • @XrayTheMyth23
      @XrayTheMyth23 2 года назад +19

      @@MrZeus1313 He misinterpreted the bar and the whole battle. This is not really a "battle between Henson and Lee" it's a reconciliation of their ideas getting stomped on by disney. His (and your) interpretation ignore all of Henson's part of this battle, he was not a "battler" type of person. They even praise each other at the end of both of their verses, it makes no sense that a sunset line is a diss when he says you were gone too soon. Reading comprehension is valuable for these.

  • @xandervampire195

    I don't think Stan was making fun of Jim dying young. I think it was a proverbial olive branch. Notice that it was preceded by an apology and a self-diss "honestly, there's a lot of things you can't control at my age". Then he said he missed him and described Jim's life as a "beautiful sunset". Personally, I see that as him leaving the battle frame of mind and speaking from the heart which also explains Jim's next verse which is mostly respectful and consoling (with a small jab about the false rumours of Stan's death which appeared online from time to time).

    On the season finale episodes they don't end with "who won, who's next?" they just show screenshots of all their past episodes. Honestly, who won is just a tagline they use to get people more interested - all sides are by the same writing team, so it's actually irrelevant.

    ... Ok, real talk... I have been dabbling in rap for years. I enjoy the flow, the beat, and generally the lyrics... Watching you break down reaction videos to rap I realize I am probably missing something somewhere. Watching you breakdown the Epic Rap Battle of History videos, where I have a historical understanding of the shade being tossed around and the lyrics are slow enough to catch it is easy to get the gist. Then, add in the beautiful breakdown 101 you do, all of a sudden I look at these as no just a string of clever historical burns but literal literature pieces with cadences and annunciation that makes me start to have a spark of understanding to the truly professional level of other rap that my ear had never been trained to hear. This may not be a big thing, or have a parody level for others... but your breakdown has given me an educational enlightenment that has helped more than anything. Thank you! :)

    I don't think the issue was so much that the books were ghostwritten; it was more that Jack Kirby would come up with the designs and do all the artwork, but Stan Lee would take all the credit. If I'm not mistaken, I think Kirby died broke.

    I am a huge Stan Lee fan but there's no doubt Jack Kirby was the driving force behind a ton of what makes Marvel, Marvel.

    Jim sounds calm because he was a very soft-spoken man. It's a detail they absolutely nailed about him in this battle. He rarely raised his voiced unless he was performing.
