Virginia Native here in St. louis Missouri. Grew up a navy kid and seeing that had had me grinning before I knew it. Great video. I purchased the same drill press, and heard the same quill noise. (I found your video searching for it’s replacement. ). Thanks for the content. Loved the “and I do stuff” line. Good luck!!!!!

Thanks for the video, brother! I have the exact same drill press, which I am about to assemble today, so I am very grateful for the video, and your thoughts on this tool. Btw: love the bikes! A V-Max, WOW! Haven't seen one of those in ages... And the Beemer is pretty awesome, too! I have an R1150RS, so I'm a big fan of your bike, too! Cool. Thanks, again! God bless.

Thank you so much for the comments and for watching. The 1985 VMX12 has been sitting so long that the brake cylinders and clutch master cylinder has list sealing capabilities. I may do a video on bringing it back to life before I get rid of it. Have a blessed day.

@@tonycarthan6425 That would be awesome to see you do a video on a V-Max restoration! I'd definitely watch that! I subscribed to your channel, so I will be watching additional content of yours, for sure! I wish you a blessed rest of your weekend! God bless you and yours, brother! Thank you!

Well done on the video Sir. It didn't appear to be a problem to drill those 1/4 in. holes. Dewalt makes a pack of pilot point drill bits that are fantastic. Sizes are 3/16 to 1/2 inch the others in the pack are standard drills. I use these daily at work making aluminum parts but worthless on steel. I been doing this for 11 years and the next best is a standard 119 degree good for steel or aluminum. Last but not least Thank You for your service!

Looks very similar to a Craftsman one I got maybe 30 years ago. Mine still going strong, good motor and no defects. Runout on spindle not to machinists level, but it is for drilling, not honing

The slots in the base of the press are for dropping drill bits in and also to collect wood and metal shavings. Best thing to do is cover it with something so that doesn't happen.
