    🚨Extra Race details:🚨
To say the race was a hot race would be an understatement. I can't explain to you how hot it was and how it affected my race strategy during the race. The flatter section from 35k to 44k was where I wanted to push and knew I could make up some time, but I felt as if I was running in a sauna and If I pushed too much it might have been the end of my race. The second climb to Eggerhorn started at around 46k towards Chäserstatt and this is where I saw a lot of people hiding in the trees unable to continue and getting a break from the heat. After Chäserstatt (50K) it was all open and exposed to the sun to Eggerhorn and it is a very runable section, but I resisted to save energy. That route we passed many streams which I stopped in all of them to cool down. Many runners were laying down in them too!
My main stretch of loss time was the downhill from Breithorn. This was a deviated section, so I hope future races they wont have to do it again because it was gnarly! Very narrow, overgrown a mix of loose, sharp and large rocks and then vegetation and of course -35% grade! It made it hard to see and to control yourself. My fiancé fell countless times!
My biggest failure of the race was my caffeine strategy. I don't drink coffee so caffeine isn't in my daily diet. In future, I would train for this as this was the main thing I was fighting from 80k to the finish line.
    🏃‍♂️Race course info:🏃‍♂️
Yes, it was a deviated course so not all runners have had this experience, but it is still a tough course. The winner in 2024 did almost 2 hours slower than previous years and the 100 miles and 100k are consistently slower than the UTMB and CCC. So, if you know those routes, the Swiss Alps 100 courses are not as friendly. The climbs are longer and the terrain is a bit more challenging.
The views are more spectacular then I have ever seen, you get 360 views when at the top and you run through some really quaint villages, which really, you wouldn't go and visit as they are so small.
    🏎️Logistics & Aid Stations🥫
I was very lucky to have a crew and if you can, I would recommend (100k and 100m) for you to have one. The main reason for this is the aid stations were not fully stocked enough. It was also great to have my own cheering squad to help me along :)
My crew met me at Bellwald, Reckingen, Blitzingen, Binn and Mulhbach. Apart from parking, these are all easily accessible via car on normal roads. Only Binn has a narrow tunnel which my crew enjoyed passing through!
I slept in my camper van in a car park below the start/finish line and it was free. There are many options for overnight stays (have to be early) and it is a really accessible race via public transport. My fiance arrived from a 16h Barcelona flight and was in Fiesch by 21h.
The towns around the start/finish line are very small, so the hotel you are staying at will have runners in it, so you will be able to share lifts. There is a public bus that runs through the towns that is normally every hour or so and will cost no more than 5CHF.
I hope all this information helped. If there are any more questions, please reach out to me in the comments or on Instagram! Happy running.

Amazing performance and willpower Ben! As if the course was not difficult enough, the heat made it even tougher 😅. For the entire support crew it was a memorable weekend and a lot of fun. Congratulations 🏆
