New Blockbusters is good. This is the first time I watched it. I thought like 10 Out of Cats Does Countdown it would had been a mock of the classic quiz show. It's totally respectful to the Bob Holness era and Dara O'Briain does a good job and provides good humor. The new version of the Blockbusters theme tune is a good update of the Ed Welch version, but I think Ed Welch's version will always be superior. Welcome back, Blockbusters!

Yes. But that's a common tool in the British humour cache. Are they "Pathetic"? No. Not unless the definition of "Pathetic" has suddenly changed. If you "Could do without spot prizes because you're genuinely bothered by them, then perhaps you should disclude any programs hosted by a Comedian from your future watch list. Maybe Jeopardy or Countdown (Pre-10 Cats) are more your speed.

This version of Blockbusters should have lasted longer than it did. I really like the tie-breaker format that only has 1 question.
