      Bullshit I could have bought one of his guitars for 4,000 at a Dallas guitar show in 1996... it was a radio station give away... came with a letter... He carved his name into the back of it, and the back of the guitar had been refinished witch lowers the value of a Gibson guitar. I wish I had bought it...

    You learn by watching. A lot of people are saying, "Where's the guitar lesson?" There's all kinds of guitar lessons. When I was a teen I would go see bands play and I always considered it a "guitar lesson." I always learned by watching and then going home and doing what I seen. Ted clearly played many of his riffs in this video so you can learn them. There were so many lessons wrapped up in this home video. The biggest one was perhaps to stay away from drugs. I went to my first Nugent concert in 1980 at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago. It was awesome. Def Leppard opened for them with their first album "On through the Night." I learned so much from Ted, even though I never had a private lesson with him. There was no You Tube back then. I never owned a Ted Nugent music book, but I still learned his riffs from listening to the records. Use your eyes and ears.

    • @jimkostan9932
      @jimkostan9932 9 месяцев назад

      Exactly 💯 agree! Watching for me is the best way to learn. I worked for Ted Nugent for a couple years in mid 90s,when he owned his radio station 102.7 Bear radio,outside detroit. I got to watch Ted Nugent play live daily from about 6 to 8 ft away every day, and yes, I stole a lot of his likes. Nugent grew up about 1 mile from our house ... He was our local Guitar Hero...❤❤❤. He actually let me fondle out one of his Gibson Byrdland guitars.

    In all seriousness, he is truly a guitar innovator. He was playing hard rockin riffs on a type of guitar that was never intended to make those sounds, and NOBODY else was doing this back in the 70's. And he's a f#cking rock star because of it. He also is the first gives props to the R&B innovators that influenced his playing.

      Alex Lifeson played an ES-335 and ES-355 from '71 to present day, though he stopped using them exclusively during the Permanent Waves era, and they were put away on hiatus from the Grace Under Pressure tour until the Vapor Trails tour, at least from the stage. From Vapor Trails to today, it's been on every tour.

    You might think he was only joking, but it's actually true.
    Rock & Roll is not a genre...it's an attitude
    Blues is a genre - Jazz is a genre - Classical is a genre
    Then you simply add "The Attitude" & you get Rock & Roll from any of these & others also
    Ted Nugent doesn't joke about Rock & Roll...or dangerous keyboards

    I saw Ted at Soldier Field in Chicago in 1977. It was packed with around 80,000 people and he rocked the hell out of that place. Lynyrd Skynyrd was there too, along with 38 Special and i think Journey. Anyway he owned it. He blew everyone away. People 40 miles away reportedly heard him. He was knee deep in empty plastic water jugs and i will never forget that concert. All for around 6 or 7 bucks. Living Legend.

      robert persall I actually do leave rocking and rolling to the pros. I was never more hurt than when Lemmy Kilimister, the Godfather of heavy metal, died. He knew a hell of a lot more about being a rock God than this dumbass. All Ted knows is how to emulate former rocks stars. He's never been good enough to do it himself. He went bankrupt the one time he tried....hahahahaha! Lemmy wrote some great songs for Ozzy and made more off royalties. I'd rather hear Mama, I'm Coming Home than Wang Dang Sweet Poontang any day. Lol, Ted knows how to write songs with staying power doesn't he? (facetiously, in case you didn't catch my inflection)

    • @dylanwalthall2785
      @dylanwalthall2785 6 лет назад

      Your right Bub. Leave it to the pros not an Old hack coasting off his success with Damn Yankees. He played simple blues licks that bored me to no end when my mum wanted me to learn some of his songs as she was a big fan. By the end of the first year i was playing i was not only playing but writing better licks, riffs, and solos. Granted i didnt blow some producers to get in the business like this hacks band did. All Politics aside this has been talks about attitude but when i met him and talked to him about music he acted like he was god when we all know good goddamned well he was a decent at absolute best guitarist compared to others of his time. And when i whipped out my guitar and showed him some licks i had wrote i felt were inspired by that time he had the gaul to compare me to one of the greats in my opinion George Lynch only tp seconds later tell me he is the reason guitarists from his time to the presenr would be nothing without him. So yeah hes got attitude, a pompous self inflated one that squirms knowing he saw tallent when his had faded when a 17 year old me at the time shredded my ass off before his very eyes. So yes lets leave it to the PROS. since an Ametuer like me can best him musically

I called in, and he apologized. He truly did. I told him thank you and that if he ever wanted to use me as an example of a single mom who could raise a child completely without government handouts to give me a call. He actually had an assistant call me. I wrote my story and faxed it to his assistant. I didn't listen much because at the time, I was working 2 jobs. A few of my friends called me and asked if I was the one he had talked about.

    Ted Nugent had one good album, he let himself and his fans down, he never put in the time to make good records, to be honest his playing is fast n flashy but that only goes so far, come on Ted let,s see some blood ,sweat, n tear,s go into your music and not some hunting adventure. You still got time to win back some of your old fans. I,ve been a guitarist for 40+ yrs.Come on Ted impress me.

    ... And let me add one more to the below list Ted's rock and roll attributes: GUNS. At the end of his concert I saw in August, Ted and his band mates all held up their AR-15's high and proud. Almost brought a tear to my fuckin' eye. What a beautiful sight! If I'd been allowed to bring my AR to the show, I would have held it up right along with them. God bless America!

    Oh Ted Ted Ted you're a riot and what an inventor too. Once I got my attitude and spirit lined up my ability to play guitar became effortless, stuff that used to take me a year to learn now only takes a couple minutes with attitude & dripping boy oh boy it was so juicy it ate right through the floor and I almost fell through oh yeah.
