  • There have been 5 occurrences in modern sports history where an NFL Regular Season Game and a World Series Game featuring teams from the exact same states have played on the same day:
    October 12th, 1975
New England Patriots vs. Cincinnati Bengals
1975 World Series Game 2- Cincinnati Reds vs. Boston Red Sox
    October 16th, 1988
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
1988 World Series Game 2- Oakland A's vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
    November 1st, 2009
New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles
2009 World Series Game 4- New York Yankees vs. Philadelphia Phillies
    October 23rd, 2011
St. Louis Rams vs. Dallas Cowboys
2011 World Series Game 4- St. Louis Cardinals vs. Texas Rangers
    November 3rd, 2022
    Philadelphia Eagles vs. Houston Texans
2022 World Series Game 5- Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies

I certainly remember 2009 because I'm a Giants fan, that was certainly the ideal scenario b/c BOTH games were practically being played across the street from one another though the Eagles-Giants game was played earlier in the day obviously. I actually forgot about 2011 though, the Rams & Cowboys playing that afternoon just up the street from where the Cardinals & Rangers played Game 4 of the World Series at the time.
Thanks for sharing this one! It's always kinda neat 'round this time of year when multiple teams from the same city are playing around the same time, we see it more often when the World Series & the NFL are ongoing at the same time as well.

Do the NBA Finals edition too. Same teams from the same city or metro area..

Yeah, because there's been a number of occasions where that happened as well. 1994 was the obvious example, both the New York Rangers & New York Knicks reached the Stanley Cup Final & NBA Final that year & BOTH series wound up going 7 games( Rangers won Game 7 at home vs Vancouver, Knicks lost Game 7 at Houston ).
