Super sick swap. It's a shame Honda didn't offer these factory 6 speed. The rest of the car is such quality. Interior is plush, good looking car just plagued by the V6 tranny's issues. I feel like if these were offered in manual you'd see a lot more people building them. Props

Get a comptech blower. Easy +60 bhp. Car and driver tested a comptech tuned 3.2CL-S that made 369 bhp. Do that to this thing and it’ll eat scat packs for lunch
I totally forgot about Comptech!!! He didn't want to supercharge originally because we were considering using a GM blower (Eaton M90) It would've stuck out of the hood a ton.

My parents had a blue one with 230k, it went through one transmission and the 2nd one was starting to fail. Then it got crashed, but it wasn’t a salvage title, the hood and radiator was damaged. I wish we fixed it and I had it for my first car.
Definitely going turbo because the owner (Ray) wants to be able to close the hood. The supercharger sticks out the hood. We are going to use a similar turbo manifold that got for our J2K CRX.

I know this is an older post but, personally I would leave it as is. If you wanted more power, I would supercharge it. By the looks of it, 3rd gear chirping and all, the power is plentiful and progressive. Something that is rare these days. If you turbo that thing, you'll more than likely lose the progressive throttle curve. I also think a supercharger whine would compliment the nice induction noise it already has in the upper RPMs.
Hey man I did the same thing I got it 03TL type S and I put the whole six speed swap in it engine harness Dash harness all the six speed stuff subframe all the stuff you did only problem I’m having is the door wires for the driver front door if you know that doesn’t come on in and I figure out the rest of the doors the work passenger when I figure that out in my sunroof in my closet doesn’t work it work before no it doesn’t well yeah that’s is clean and I also did 08 Acura TL Type S exhaust and front caliper
Really considering doing this since you can find these tl's with broken trans for like a grand and under pretty often. Im not mechanic so i wonder how much it would cost thru a shop but all in it's probably still worth it
318,000 miles and it’s on its 2nd transmission. Wish the 2nd gen TL came with a manual. I drove a 05 as well but it was unfortunately auto. Stiff as hell

Do you know if a 3rd gen TL trans will fit also?

i would just do bolt-ons honestly (intake, header, exhaust). we got rid of our entire J32A1 in favor of the J32A2... it has better flowing heads and larger valves. a head swap could help you but that’s a lot of work for little bump of power.

I'd say its worth it. I have an 03 TLS that just hit 200k Kms. I rebuilt the tranny at 170k but had no issues prior. If it goes again in the future, I will swap it out for an 06-07 Accord V6 tranny. There's a guy here on YT that has over 355,000 miles on his original tranny - "car repairs made simple" is the channel. Not sure if he just got lucky but he does preach maintenance and doesn't bag on it. I added a tranny cooler and avoid downshifting manually to minimize the abuse + change the fluid on the reg. GL man.

Easy there, fwd = wheel hop, skip and slip.... That TL had upgraded suspension too, and only shaved .6 of the stock 1/4 mile.,

J35 swap or j35 intake manifold, port and polish your heads, remove unnecessary weight, trans cooler is a must if you want your auto last.

So the exhaust systems from the CL?
Only the manifolds and j-pipes are from the CL. The rest of it is TL because the car is obviously much longer being a sedan.
