I think they are the same scooter the Eagle just has a smaller battery. I can say confidently that the frame/motors brakes are the same. I think the Eagle Pro has the Newer Eye throttle controller and those are supposed to be very good. You also might have a hard time finding a D2 I am not sure they are making them anymore. I can tell you that when I eventually buy another scooter it’s going to be the Eagle Pro with a supplemental battery.
Nice review man , just wanted to ask if the motor gets hot if you drive on single motor all the way , coz man gets pretty hot and iam using it now on dual to distribute the stress and it seems much better motors run cool so i dont know if its notmal or my scooter is having an issue
Hi there thank you for watching and commenting! There is something of an ongoing debate when it comes to single versus dual motor usage. Some people think that running only one motor causes it to overheat because there is drag from the second motor. Some people disagree with this so I’m not really sure. Personally I always leave it on dual motor mode.
Liked the advice about saving up the additional $800.00 to get the Dualtron ll. I'm seriously looking into these and hope to get one. A dualtron that is. I believe you may have sold me on this particular model. Thanks Steve. 👍
Own a 2017 Model with +3000 miles that looks ought to be (as used as yours). I operate on single motor mostly so my back end tire has worn down first. Never had any flats. Standart CST 10x2.5 tires. I installed an hydraulic brake wich was huge PITA but like night/day difference in breaking performance and comfort. Always order your new Dualtron with the hydraulics option!! Battery still fine. Get about 50-60 miles on it or 3 hours operation. Waterproofness is the big downside on the DT. It's a sunshine-scooter. Some electrical components are non closed systems like the eye controller and some wiring. I drive a Xiaomi on wet conditions (If I need to). The Xiaomi is brilliant in it's own, small dimension. Cheap AF parts and easy repair. Wish i'd see more DTs on the streets as they have such great value and durability. Cheers!
Those hydraulic brakes must be fantastic! The fact that you are driving around on one motor is very interesting to me. I was mostly convinced that is bad for the scooter. After talking with a couple of guys that I really consider experts they disagree. I generally always keep it on dual motor because that is what the guys I purchased it from recommend. I appreciate your input thank you for checking out my videos!
martin van nijnatten because using one motor can cause a lot of heat and thats what causes the resistors to burn out on the controllers. Especially going uphill with one motor. Using both is ideal since it wont heat up as much as using one.
I bought a bunch of tires from AliExpress a couple of years ago. I also tend to take the tires off of my old scooters to put on my new scooters. They all have the same 10 x 2.5 tire. The only problem is you need to get the right angle stem on the tube. The DT tube stem needs to be at a 90° angle but most of my other scooters are about 120°.
watch your audio levels on the insta 360... they are definitely clipping on the upper end. solid video as usual! you can stop by a fabric store and pick up "bear fuzz" material to act as a deadcat for your camera to reduce wind noise.
Yes they do not make it anymore. The equivalent is the eagle pro which is almost exactly the same but with a slightly smaller battery. It is gotten great reviews. Good luck!
It’s probably great. I have driven it and it definitely performs amazing. I like the wide deck. I’m not sure if I like the fingerprint scanner. I have heard that it is easy to disconnect. A lot of that depends if you are really worried about it being stolen. I would actually go without it just because it’s one less electrical thing to go wrong. It comes standard on the D3?
The Currus NF I’ve been looking at and mentioned to you is a bit heavy. Dualtron 2 limited really is a value. Is there any chance to source one through your local hookups? Not having luck online. Perhaps you have the “who you know.”
I think a lot of scooter manufacturers are simply sold out at the moment. Contact USAMinimotors and ask them if they have any in stock. I just spoke to the owner and he told me they are basically sold out but they might have something in the Los Angeles office. They had some available six months ago but again they might be gone. I hear by early July they should have more stock. Good luck and thanks for watching!
There’s a Phillips head screw inside the folding mech at the front, inside the hinged section. (That’s on the Ultra, hopefully the same on the 2). Screw it out a quarter turn at a time. That’ll get rid of the stem wobble
Cooper at Minimotors told me the same thing. It’s sort of strange because neither my Ultra or the D2 has that screw on the hinge. He also said that is only good for fixing play above the gear nut in this case the play is below it. I don’t think it matters I’m comfortable with the way it is and it’s not getting any worse.
I set a $3400 scooter budget.Should I purchase the limit or the next model up. I would like to get about 40 miles in range, and a minimum top speed of 45 mph. Thank you
That is a good budget whatever you buy you will most likely be happy. I I think you could get an Dualtron Ultra for $3400 with no accessories. Mine cost about $3900 but about $600 of that is because I bought the supercharger the seat and the tax. . You’re not going to get 45 miles range though out of top Speed. You can easily get that in second gear but not third. Just be very aware that Scooter manufacturers basically lie tremendously about the range estimates. A lot of it depends on how much you weigh. Lighter people simply get more range. I only get about 35 miles range on my Ultra (about 30 on this D2) but I go up and down a lot of hills and do a lot of stop and go driving. On flat terrain I’m sure I can get 45 miles in second gear. Second gear on the Ultra takes you to 40 mph so it might be what you are looking for.
I’ve been considering some thing like the Kaabo Mantis. I’ve also been looking at the Dualtron Eagle Pro. I know that both are good scooters and I’ve been leaning towards the mantis. you have more knowledge than I do so any information you could tell me as to why you feel like a Dualtron would be a better purchase would be greatly appreciated
Hi,i want buy good escooter but i dont know wich one is better. Mby you can say and where i can buy?? Plz help i realy want somethink like yours! Osome
Right now I think a lot of places are out of stock. I buy my scooters from USAMinimotors - i’m not sure if they have anything available right now I think by July they should. Thank you for watching my videos!
Ok so I am getting a scooter for food delivery. I have a car but Uber eats is being stupid and won’t take my registration. Budget is tight but I have around $450- MAX $500 I can spend now and I know I will make and save a ton of money if I buy a scooter now. In the future I will be getting a dualtron but money isn’t there yet. So far I am looking at a hoboy s2 electric scooter. Was wondering if you have anything to say about this scooter, at the end of the day I want a cheaper scooter and use it everyday to help save and make more money for me to buy the one you have but I just need a little help before I make a perches.
I understand about your budget. I don’t think that is a good choice though. If you’re gonna spend this exact amount of money I would get a Xiaomi m365. My reason is that it will be easy to get the information on how to fix it when it breaks. At this price point you cannot expect the scooter to last very long. It will probably have problems early in its life. The Xiaomi m365 is one of the worlds best selling scooters. There are so many fans of this scooter you can go to one of their forums to get information to fix almost anything about it. Good luck!
Hello sir. How tall are you? Im asking because im 5'11 and I reviewed the information on the dimensions of the skoot and I think its short. Can you give me your thoughts on this matter. Thank you!
I am 5’10. I understand your concerns about the stem. They are non-adjustable to make them more sturdy. Adjustable Stamms would be very dangerous on these high powered scooters. I think at 5’11 you would be OK but maybe you can test drive one before you buy?
I am not sure the difference to be honest! I think there is some difference in the specs if you look at that. They look very similar when I had them side-by-side. I have driven the Eagle Pro it rides great.
Electric Scooter Academy the Eagle is basically a DT2 LTD with folding handle-bars, under-deck lighting and smaller battery: matching the DT2 EX or EX+. The Eagle is 30 KG. I'm in doubt between the Eagle and the DT2. Need some way to protect against rain as well and I want hydraulic brakes
Steve the proof is in how much scooter cost and how much has it made you in cash, if you can pay for your scooter in a month all the next months are free so is it worth it ? I bet it is. Ray K. UK. YNWA.
I am sorry but i rode my ultra 2000+ km still with the first set of brake pads as i was breaking electrically on stage 5 (Pa 5) for all the time. So pls dont say an Ultra needs fresh pads every 2 or 300 miles... No offense though. Good riding to you! PS try italian PMT tires, they rock hard! Don't know if they fit on this scooter, but definitely on Ultras and Thunders. They are the shit!
I taught myself how to work on the brakes so there’s a good chance I am doing something wrong. Also keep in mind that I probably do 10x the amount of stop and go driving compared to normal use. I have no idea how you could ride with the electrical brakes set on number five. When I first tried that it just it was way too strong. I will change the settings and try again. I really appreciate your input!
@@yogadude1234 yeah i know it's tough, but to be honest i am riding very "aware" and defensively, meaning i try to not get surprised. Whenever i am breaking though, i get a certain laid back stance on the deck, meaning i won't nudge the steering holm with all of my weight, just putting my weight back, lowering my stance a bit with my knees, ensuring the braking momentum is held back by my feet on the deck. Couldn't describe it any better. Definitely helps if you have one foot in the Front and one in the back, riding like if your were snowboarding. Keeping your balance with your spread legs and core strenght. Once used to that, you gonna break entirely electrically.
Fyi their controller problem still isnt fixed so any new dualtrons with single controllers might still have defects. I know this because i bought a eaglepro 2 weeks ago and 2 days into riding the controller failed. Anybody looking to buy should definitely be cautious and do your research on them.
I believe you and that is why I recommend the D2. I realize it might not be so easy to find this unit. I googled what you’re talking about and cannot find anything. Could you share a link about the Eagle having this controller problem?
Electric Scooter Academy the eagle shares the same controller as the spider and ive seen you talking in the reddit posts about the spider controller problems so im sure you know whats up. But nevertheless heres a link. www.google.com/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/dualtron/comments/c3usri/dualtron_spider_controller_problems_thoughts/.
And like i said up there i personally own a eaglepro myself and the controller failed on me which i had no idea about until i got in touch with cooper from minimotorusa so theres no link needed since ive experienced it. Anyways just a warning for those looking to buy dualtrons with single motors. Especially if you dont have a local store to fix it like me living in Canada. Literally stuck with a $3000 toy thats just taking up space while waiting for the other controller to come. Besides that ive heard the thunder is one of the best and most reliable high end scooters so if u have money definitely go for thunder.
This is the first time i hear of an Eagle Pro having controller issues. I believe you that yours have broken but i seriously doubt it's common and i'm all over the internet all the time reading about scooters and dualtrons day in and out.

Just talked to Aelvin at USA Minimotors I think I’ll have my bonus code soon 😎
Do they make foam airless tires for this scooter like the Mercane flatwheel. Just to avoid unnecessary flats .?
No they don’t. I’m pretty sure they would be very uncomfortable on scooters like these.
