So, found out recently that the lady who got really brutally attacked in Jurassic World originally wasn't supposed to be the one to get that, but the actress actually was really, really hyped about it and wanted to be the one attacked. Which, I've always found that scene silly, but... heck, you go queen, live your dreams I guess! I respect the dedication!
I did local theatre when I was in my teens, and I have to say my first on stage death (Ceasars head servent) was so much cooler than my first major character (one of the lead twins on Comedy of Errors).
If you rewatch the chase scene with the rex, you’ll be able to see that they couldn’t escape because Muldoon wasn’t able to get the car in the right gear. In other words, he couldn’t make it go faster than a threshold, so the rex was able to keep up.
They explain the 2nd island a bit better in the book. Creating the dinosaur embryos is such a difficult technology to utilize that it has a high failure rate. So they have to make GIANT batches just to have a few viable embryos. The 2nd island is the giant, ugly industrial farm that produces only a few viable eggs, then some of those eggs are taken to the boutique lab on the main island which is the pretty face of how the work is done. The boutique lab is just a show for investors and tourists.
3:38..I just noticed that when R.G stops talking about the comedy bit he looks directly at the camera instead of just off to the side, such a funny part of the whole video.
There is a short film that was released called battle at big rock. It takes place after the events of fallen kingdom where a family tries to survive a dinosaur attack while camping in the woods somewhere in northern California. Its actually really well done with practical animatronics and cgi dinos. It has a horror tone reminiscent of Jurassic park.
oh yeah, Jaby and the team definitely need to react to that and if for some copyright issues, they are not able to show it, they definitely need to watch it because that short film is so excellent.
Lex was fumbling for the switch to turn off the flashlight. She wasn't waving it around on purpose. Also, when people are scared shitless they can't think straight most of the time, unless they have training to deal with extreme situations. So, covering up the light until she found the switch didn't occur to her.
Yeah and dont forget she was a child reacting to 42 foot long meat eating dinosaur that's about to eat her. Even an adult reacting that way would've been understandable.
I used to think she initially grabbed the flashlight because she was a kid and it was dark, to kinda ward off the fear with light. But now I think maybe she was trying to signal to the other car? Being a scared kid, she wasn't thinking straight, like you say. (And then, yeah, the light was waving around because Lex and Tim are fighting over it, fumbling to switch it off like you say.)
I know fully grown adults that claim they always keep all the lights on in their house because they have an irrational fear of someone watching them from outside their windows... which is absolutely the worst thing you could do in that situation. Fear and logic are not always paired together.
A correction: Jurassic Park III wasn’t Joe Johnston’s first movie in the director’s chair nor was he an AD in the previous two films. He had been a director for years at that point with titles such as “Honey, I shrunk the kids”,“The Rocketeer”, and “Jumanji” under his belt. So it wasn’t a ‘big jump’ that he took on the job.
Not sure where you got the info on the Jurassic Park III director, but that was Joe Johnston, who'd already directed Honey I Shrunk the Kids, October Sky, The Rocketeer and Jumanji by the time he did Jurassic Park III. He went on to direct Captain America: The First Avenger. He got his start in VFX and art design on the original Star Wars trilogy, as well as Raiders of the Lost Ark. To my knowledge, he did not work on the first Jurassic Park film.
As a child. I saw the first Jurassic Park on TV. The year after the official release and for years and years I had nightmares about the t-rex. it still happens to me every now and then😂
The T-Rex Vision thing has always been funny to me because it's very probably that T-Rex's had the best eyesight of any organism ever. Eyesight is actually generally associated with the size of the eye or at least that determines the upper limit for their capacity. And T-Rex may have had the biggest eyes of any predator that uses vision that we have ever found.
I am very thankful that Spielberg put that San Diego part in it, that was my favorite part as a teen, the scene with the man getting eaten trying to open the door and the dog barking was awesome! ( Still never made any sense that everyone on that ship died) I was hoping for another scene like that in Jurassic world since it had so many people, but Jurassic world wasn't horror, it was too much action-adventure, I never really felt any tense moments.
So many technologies and innovations came out of making these movies for sure. Spielberg and Lucas came up during a time where plot holes didn’t matter 😂
I agree with everything, but one critique when it comes to the Jeep situation, the reason why they couldn't out run the T-Rex at first was because Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) got scared and scooted to the front of the Jeep blocking the driver from changing the stick out of first gear.
Did anyone else realize in jurassic park 3 when alan dreams about the raptor talking to him he dreams about the raptor from Isla sorna even tho he's never seen it, the only raptors he's seen are the ones from the first movie and they don't look anything like the ones from the third one
Great reaction - I think w that Lost World "coda", Spielberg just couldn't resist the chance to do a sequence w the T-rex run amok among civilians, so he just said f- it and went for it
@@pap-fr At one point, I thought so as well. Then I learned they were different islands, which made it confusing because the one we see in the 3rd film looks almost exactly like the one from the 1st film.
The Trex keeps up with the jeep initially because malcolm is leaning on the gear shift so muldoon cant shift to the next gear. Its a manual transmission and it looked like it was in 2 nd or 3rd gear which wouldnt allow the jeep to go more than 30 miles per hour.
From what I remember, the flashlight was waving around because Tim was trying to grab it from her, while she was simultaneously trying to find the off switch. So, they were basically fighting over the flashlight, which was why it was waving all around. Ryan saying it was a dance party was hilarious. Lol!

So in The Lost World, the crew of the ship that was carrying the T-Rex to San Diego were actually killed by a Raptor or Raptors. This was acknowledged in the book I think just in the movie. I believe that it's a deleted scene as well, I can't remember lol.
Yes. I remember now, that there were a lot of scenes they had to cut for time. And I remember that it was raptors on the ship that killed everyone, not the trex.
As much as most of them are bad, I love the Jurassic movies. I grew up with loving dinosaurs and even tho the plot in some of the movies is dumb, they are really fun to watch. And honestly the last one is one of my favorites, might just be cuz of the original characters returing tho.

The jeep having difficulty outrunning the T-Rex, had to do with Malcolm sitting on the stick shift of the jeep, making it so that the driver Muldoon, couldn't change gears.
Late night in India, when Street dogs gang up to follow me. One trick that has always worked for me is to take out my phone and point the flashlight to their eyes, it always makes them confused. Looking at a bright light directly makes anybody not be able to look what's behind the light. The girl might be trying the same.

4:02 The Park isn’t that big so how many hatchlings could possibly be holding his time up? Maybe a hundred at most a year. Plus, unlike the other parks this Park was on a private island which means the clientele would be exclusive. Maybe three or four intros a day at most. Seems reasonable to me.
The T-Rex enclosure never really bothered me. the area they were pulled up next to wide a pretty wide expanse so it isn't a big stretch to imagine part of it has a vertical wall while another section has terrain built up like a ramp or just a concrete ramp section they built for the T-rex to walk up for the feeding demonstration with the goat
The reason why Speilberg wanted to do a San Diego thing was because he wasn't satisfied with his movie and he knew this probably would be the last tims he stuck his head on a sequel because he hates sequels so he kept adding all his crazy creativity and inspirations for the movie. Also James Cameron popped an egg on his head after Jurassic Park 1 premiere saying if it was his movie he would have made it an r rated film (Both the studios that these two directors worked for, chased Crichton madly for the rights and lost to Universal by a close margin.) and Speilberg being a natural horror director wanted to go to his roots as well. But the problem was his horror movies had good character arcs and story. The second movie had no characters and no story.
Fun Fact: The power went out at the theater where I went to go watch Jurassic World Dominion and so I had to wait to watch the rest of the movie just to find out that it sucked.
'nother plot hole (I love JP, tbc) is how long is take for a dinosaur to grow to maturity? Elephants take 16+ years...so how long has the park secretly been in development?
13:50 So that scene with the trailer gave me nightmares as a kid. But that bald guy was also super brave and his death was sad. I think it was in the book, if I remember correctly. The books are actually way better. And there's only 2 books because SPOILER The government burns the island to the ground with napalm.
The book version explains the t rex sight thing. Since they have amphibian dna hence, very bad vision. Book dr grant learns this during his time at the park from a vet.
"Someone dying does not stop a project" No, but it SHOULD stop a project that has never been attempted before and is therefore unpredictable, implying that if one person died, more could likely follow, with no way of effectively making any countermeasures.

The first Jurassic Park was a more scary vibe.. the rest were just fun and suspenseful 🤷🏾♂️
Fun Fact: The power went out at the theater where I went to go watch Jurassic World Dominion and so I had to wait to watch the rest of the movie just to find out that it sucked.
so are both of their names coincidentally Koay? or are they related?
Actually it WASN'T a big jump for director Joe Johnston, because previously he directed "HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS", "THE ROCKETEER" and "JUMANJI".
And there's only 2 books because
SPOILER
The government burns the island to the ground with napalm.
Come on Jaby, you've never tummy dialled someone?!
Richard Schiff. Star of one of the greatest tv shows of the 90s/00s reduced to the bald guy in Jurassic park and a voice in a video game 😢
5:05 to be fair she had only encountered graboids at that time which finds prey through sound and vibration so maybe she thought she was safe?
5:12 I hope he was joking when he said he blames “privilege”.
Somebody called his phone while it was in the stomach. That's why it rang but it's doubtful it would be heard especially as clear as the movie had it.
The book version explains the t rex sight thing. Since they have amphibian dna hence, very bad vision. Book dr grant learns this during his time at the park from a vet.
I don't think the "spinosaurus" was meant to be a joke. It's literally a genus
"Someone dying does not stop a project"
No, but it SHOULD stop a project that has never been attempted before and is therefore unpredictable, implying that if one person died, more could likely follow, with no way of effectively making any countermeasures.
Dream raptors are tight.
