Almost five straight minutes of ultra precise double kicks. Amazing performance.
Supersolid!
Five minutes straight but their whole set is almost 2h of 5min bursts of doublebass kicks
I'm not a drummer, but I can feel my calfs crying. These badass double bassdrums hammer like the mighty Mjöllnir.
Great double bass control.
I think his drumming style is perfect for Amon Amarth.
Fredrik was better. Because he was the one who made this awesome drumming. Jomsviking is pretty lame drum wise
Jomsviking drums wasn't made by jocke though :)
@@DrumsandOther actually I don't know what you mean, this performance is outstanding and fits the song
@@kicksomeazz9669 that's because he's playing drums that were written by Fredrik, it's not his original drum track
@@Davidbystr yes... But does that mean hes bad?
Playing consistent double bass that’s THAT fast for THAT long is the result of nothing but hours and hours of practice. This guys a beast and his endurance is incredible. I hope to be on his level some day
probably hours and hours and HOURS and some more hours of practice (years basically)
@@antondubkov took me about 30-40 hours total spread out over a year to improve my double bass peak by about 20 bpm. I can only imagine how long this dude has been practicing.
You will bro. The first person to believes on the dreams becomes with yourself 🇧🇷
Jocke is not joke
Great endourance on double bass..
Dude's good.
Met him in Cleveland last May, incredible drummer and really really nice guy.
4:56 - 5:03, the muted cymbal and then the muted cymbal with double bass- that was kick ass! I dont know how common that is, but I have never seen it before. Amon Amarth has been really lucky with amazing drummers!
Balaji Bhaskar Dave Lombardo would say ha -ha-ha on this 😂😂😂
That's standard stuff. Solid drumming though.
Travis Smith former drummer of Trivium does this many times.
It's a very Paul Bostaph thing to do(It does help that they look alike). You can find it quite common in Slayer's Divine Intervention, Killing Fields to be precise.
It's standard in thrash and death metal.
He’s actually what Amon Amarth needed to move forward. Technically he handles all of the material perfectly. I saw them at the TLA in Philly on the last tour and as always, they were phenomenal. I met the boys and they are very outgoing to the fans and super cool and gracious to chat with. Jocke was very reserved and seemed to be very comfortable being the ‘new’ member of Amon Amarth. Amon Amarth never ever disappoints. Looking forward to the next album and tour. See you soon boys!
This song is so much fun to play...and he's a hell of a drummer!!! Cheers from Cape Verde Islands
Everyone's praising his drumming but can we acknowledge Johan's vocals for a bit
Yes, on a vocal video.
My favourite song of Amon Amarth!
He looks like he does it effortlessly. And is enjoying himself at the same time. 👍
My favorite Amon song!
Only if you attempt to play and sustain this double pedal torture for 5 minutes straight, you will appreciate the amazing endurance Jocke has, making this look like a walk in the park!
They sound amazing live! Wow!
The sound of the drums were perfect, cuddos to the sound guys!!!
How do I get good at double bass drums?
Jocke: Have Viking blood
Geeky Metalhead he has no Viking blood , he is Chilean born
@@vagrant0693 he was born in Chile to a Chilean and a Swede. So he's half Viking.
@@kerandurrant6043 According to his Encyclopaedia Metallum page, he was born in Chile and adopted by Swedish parents
In metal, blood and nationality don't matter, only good music! 🤘🏼
he gets the job perfectly done, which is a good thing. And he seems to have fun, it's enjoyable to watch.
Yey! A new drum cam video! Thank you Mr Jocke! \m/
Do you even double bass.?
Jocke: Hold my beer.
Incredible, just amazing!!! (Спасибо, просто невероятно!!!)
The drum part of this song is fantastic
He is the Thundergod!
Subscribed after 30 seconds!! So happy this came up on my feed.
Thanks!
Yes he is the perfect person for the job.His style is very fluential and flawless,he makes it look so easy.
NJ
One of the best!
the drummer is beast!!! hail and respect!!
All I can say is Wow!!! From Ani, Sydney Australia.
Another SOLID drummer
He’s in shape! Great endurance
Aight i'm gonna give up now after seeing this O.O this is just not human O.O he is so damn good O_O
Such a great band
I was at that show! What a wild night.
Pro-tip, try not to have a spinal tap prior to a metal show. No regrets, I had a blast!
MUITO BOM !!
I used to think Fredrik leaving was a terrible thing, however Jocke is such an incredible drummer. I'm all for it.
This guy ain’t no JOKE!!!! :)
Dude this mix slams
This band are perfect.
Pure passion
Excelente banda amon amarth
My legs explode just watching this.
Me vuelvo loca con este tema toca como los dioses🤘🤘🤘🤘
Banda massa, fui no show em Curitiba antes da pandemia
BR Rules rs
Caracas mano muito loko
Really good drummer 👌🏼
I’m sure we are all here for the same reason. Those kicks are fucking nasty. It’s insane someone can keep if so consistent and clean for 5 straight minutes
Filthy solo. I mean it. Absolutely disgusting. The least they could do is play it in key.
About the video, Jocke is an absolute beast!!! He's giving those demon drives a run for its own name.
He can't, solo was made and played by Roope Latvala of Children of Bodom, who is much better sologuitarist
@@VonArmagedda That has nothing to do with playing in key.
Most of the shred stuff you can get away with if you start and end on in key notes. But some of the bends are just atrotious. They're getting it though. Saw them last week and they played a damn good solo that night I was pleasantly surprised
awesome
World class drummer
All I can say is WOW..
Fucking double bass beast. Just saw AA on Sunday. Jocke was incredible. Stamina for days!!
Fukn machine👌👍👍👍👍
Solid af!
Nice set
Jocke is a beast!
Аккуратно играет =)
Приятно смотреть.
OMG..Dat snare sound is fcking sick...the best you can find...
Congratulations
Awesome. Can someone tell me what Sabian AAX cymbals he uses?
TOPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gave this a👍
Solid
Damn... Robot... Sick... Unbelievable..
Great
Amon amarth signature drummer.
I had to be honest.
Awesome, too bad that the Johan butchers Roopes solo
couldn't agree more,,, that's the only thing to fall flat.
I had no idea roope did a guitar solo for amon amarth
Yeah it’s bad. The only part of the song that suck each and everytime I see them live. Don’t know why he never bothered to learn it properly
Since the album was released, he plays the EXACT SAME crappy "solo". I would prefer it if they had it pre-recorded. It would be more honest. It is even out of key.
You shoul've put something he composed on the new records, the drumming is pretty good as well
Maybe a stupid question, but why is there a laptop on the leftside of jocke?
I've seen this more by metal drummers, but I have no idea were it's for.
Thanks for helping me.☺
chickensandbeandip thank you very much, very helpfull.
I'm sure you've probably found it since but bands use laptops to control backing tracks, lighting and even changing levels in their in ear systems if needed. Its generally much easier for a drummer to do this at the back of the stage
It's for some backing tracks, like the cellos on Live For The Kill and for separate click tracks for him and the band.
Oh yes..
Yeaaah 🇨🇱
Jocke is awesome and super solid, perfect fit for the band. I can only imagine the 1 dislike this video has is because he is not blonde ... *wondering*
Amazing drummer, in Århus was wery good
Wow....
Solid drumming, god awful guitar solo
if i recall correctly he never wrote that guitar solo, it was performed by children of bodoms guitarist on the album. kinda explains why he cant play it for shit live.
Yep I recall an AA interview where they said they called in Roope Latvala to do the solo, they gave him free reign over it so he crafted it up and recorded it in one take and the AA guys were super excited as it was a fucking amazing solo. Then only long after that they realized "oh fuck, none of us can play that live," so live they have to improvise and play it a lot simpler and easier.
the one on the album is great though.
They never ever get it right live...
@@rofln00b they could at least play the solo in key 😖
jaaaaazzzzzaaaaaaaaa😊😊😊😆
Takk!
Thank you!!!!
He's a wicked drummer!! and those Sabian cymbals sound awesome!!
😍😍😘👏👏👏👏
Holy Fuck!
🥁🥁🥁❤❤❤\M/
This guy is no Joke
👍👍👍👍👍
fucking hell those kickdrums...
Guitar riff r tight!
Si es chileno, es bueno lml
Holy shit, brutally drummer
That solo wasn't even in the same key. What the fuck. ? ?
Great drumming!
El Joako sabe 🤘
Lo se XD
Waiting for the dislikes because it isn't 300bpm tech death stuff.
lel
It's not tech death but man it's still pretty solid stuff. It's only 190 bpm and that is A-OK
Travis Vaughn Tightest shit I've seen in a while
We need less speed in metal, BPM are ruining the world!
Anomaly92 You're right ;)
I did nothing and this was cleaner than that!
Jocke is an amazing drummer without a doubt. Perfect job! though I personally prefer Fredrik. Also, this has nothing to do with the video, but I only wish Johan could play this solo well at least once God damn it! Hahaha, he seriously needs to work on that. Sounds crappy every f@#ing time! :'v
Diga diga diga diga diga diga diga diga etc
I`m absolutely not into all the heroic viking-themed stuff (frankly it seems quite cringy to me) but the guys are super nice and they are truly a very good live-band. This is some precise and professional shit going on here (except for the guitar solo which depends on Roope Latvala ;) ). Hats off to Amon Amarth :)
He sounds human! How cool is that?
Clean as fuck
is he using triggers?
Yeah. Pretty much any drummer in a metal band these days uses them
The Arrengments Of Decay....
Nothing like a Chilean thunderman on the drums of a Viking Death Metal band
Leif Katrileo Didn't know he is from chile
Spoodermen Produktionz
That's right. He was adopted and raised by Swedish parents, from what I know
So basically just like Anders Nordin from Opeth, except that he's from Brazil.
