How can anyone not like Gremlins 2? Of course it couldn't capture the special feeling of the original, and the filmmakers knew that, so they decided to make it as over-the-top as possible. The whole point is to be ridiculous. I'm disappointed Siskel and Ebert didn't catch the self-satire.
@@CuttinBlade If you look at Roger's history, he gave positive reviews to movies like "Escape From LA", and "Infra-Man" for being over-the-top. He does have a history of liking ridiculous films, but they are both known for not liking many sequels. Guess it's just a mood thing. 🤷♂️
he said the gremlin puppets looked better in the 1st movie than the 2nd. ..... thats just flat out wrong. theres so much more detail, creativity, and articulation in the gremlins in Gremlins 2
@sharptoothtrex4486 I'm just disagreeing I enjoyed Betsy's Wedding to a point, Alan Alda is always funny to me and I enjoyed him here even though he seemed very low key in comparison to Steve Martin, who portrayed anxious way better in Father of the Bride Unfortunately, both wives suffered from crap characterization. The usually fabulous Madeline Khan had nothing to do as Alda's wife , the same with Diane Keaton And Unfortunately Betsy herself, Molly Ringwald was a complete bore and her fiance might as well be invisible The whole Joe Pesci Mob thing with Burt Young frankly wasn't funny enough, but at least it did give us LaPaglia who was really memorable along with Ally Sheedy I liked the movie, but it thought Father of the Bride remake was better although they both pale to the 1950 original
Robocop 2 was in bad taste with that violent kid but it has laugh out loud moments. Gremlins 2 isn't as good as the first one but it's something to watch when you are in the right mood.
Saw Gremlins 2 twice at the theater that summer. So glad it’s become a respected cult classic over time.
Respected, lol
In Hollywood they don't care about cult favorites.
Siskel and Ebert movie reviews are timeless
They did make gizmo more wide eyed in Gremlins 2 on purpose.
The animal fatalities from milo and Otis were only rumors back then… ooooo boy 😥
Animal humane society could not confirm
yikes the audio on this one...
That’s VHS
@fairbreak1 i know, but if you turn off hifi it will default to mono and probably not sound so bad
i really like the theater backdrop over the old tv (lol, sorry) thanks for all you do

It was great!
absolute curmudgeons, lol
you answered your own question, over the top isn't really Rodger Ebert's type of film.

Seems none of these movies are worth seeing except The Big Bang.
Paulie!
Whattya hear, whattya say!
At least Betsy's Wedding is as good as Father of the Bride.
No it's not...not even close
@@kd17Burger Maybe to you, but not for me!

The greatest sequel of all time? Sure, okay. 😂 It's an okay, silly movie. Not that serious.
milo n otis is an awful film its animal abuse
