If you want to really hear Santana, listen to the reunion clips or buy the dvd live from Las Vegas. That is the truer version. It has a lot of the rhythms that made Santana....Santana. It has a real latin flavor. This is a lot of extra commotion to me. This sound has a lot of rock rhythms and a lot of the latin flavor is hidden behind all the extra stuff going on.....

    • @ultimateazhole

The sound crew at this show definitely sucked that night. They make it sound like a lot of racket, instead of the fine interplay Santana band is so great at. Takes away from those dynamic moments when the bands drops down and gets very sensual and moving, then bring it on home, like they do , but Carlos is definitely on this night

This footage was taken w/ a cell phone. This is not coming from the sound board or any live source that Santana was using. Strictly cell phone audio -video which is never really very good.
It appears this was taken by someone in the audience......thats what it sounds like to me

although Cindys drumming doesnt really settle into the afro-latin grooves like previous Santana drummers she does pull off "Aint got no body " fairly well. I wonder how Karl feels about her playing. Thanks for posting

Be sure to check out the blu ray from House of Blues from Las Vegas earlier this year. Gregg Rollie and Micheal Shrieve were on hand.. Really well recorded etc.. Rollie was a real stand out at that show. The organ sounded just like the studio albums 40 plus years back. Insane. Got to check it out.

      @David Watson
I'm not sure what you mean, but, here's some food for thought.
Neal was a guest on two songs at this show.
In 2016, later on, the Santana IV album came out, as a result of Neal Schon's insistence that he and Carlos play together. Neal is all over that album, and they played it live at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. (Available on cd and dvd).
Neal and Carlos share lead duties pretty evenly on Santana III, with only a little more by Carlos.
On Caravanseri, Neal and Carlos play on 'Song of the Wind', trading off so seamlessly that its hard to tell them apart. Really beautiful sharing.
Then on 'All the Love of the Universe', Neal plays the solo, coming in twice.
Neal and Gregg Rolie left to pursue their own music, and Carlos was changing direction and growing in his own way. So they left, but performed as guests with Santana over the years, as well as sharing the bill at some concerts.
So there you go! Two genius virtuoso guitarists that admire each other to this day. Carlos brought in another guitarist, in Neal, when he had just done Abraxas! He didn't have to do that, but liked the idea of two guitars, and the talent of a 17 year old Neal Schon. (!)

Well, to each his own! To my ear, and heart, I think they're fantastic.
Ray Green sings his ass off all the time, and particularly on certain songs.
And Andy is soulful as well, doing a great job.
Both have beautiful voices from where I'm sitting!
      So there you go...... whatever.
