Just goes to show that an old hilux with 60kw and 180Nm (it's 30yo so has probably lost a few horses by now), can get you places that new vehicles (with plenty of driving assist aids and much more power) find challenging. Once you are comfortable driving off-road, grab a map and explore some places less travelled. K'Gari/Fraser is nice, but it's way too busy which spoils it. If you have time for a longer trip, venture a little further north and leave the crowds behind.
