Great to hear you enjoyed the conversation. This conversation is one of our older ones. It was the 10th conversation we have recorded. Now we have recorded over 50! Our newer conversations are much better. I'd recommend joining as a Free Member at least where you will get access to our most recent conversation lesson: realenglishconversations.com/courses/memberships/

ESL teacher here... just a friendly suggestion: would love if you added subtitles so students could listen and repeat some of the phrases. Thanks.

+gernm18. Thanks for the suggestion. I would love to hear how we could provide materials that would be useful to ESL teachers or a membership option that could allow a teacher to give access to multiple students.
These video conversations that are on You Tube are part of a course that we have on our website where we offer full transcripts and exercises that focus on developing speaking fluency and listening comprehension. We have some free transcriptions, conversations, phrasal verb lessons and speaking exercises available to our free members at this link: www.realenglishconversations.com/membership-options/
We have some great video conversations planned for the upcoming season that will talk about more specific topics and hopefully be more challenging to advanced students looking to build a more advanced vocabulary.

+Real English Conversations Thanks very cool. I will definitely check that out.
Yes the independent material is useful. I do 1 on 1 English and Spanish in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. What tends to be easier for the student is to hand them the PDF directly to their email and the website as a possible back up option. I also will have a physical copy printed. Depending on what it is I'll give them a copy too. I do use a free site with PDFs and audios, which I compliment with youtube, movies (with scripts), songs, and particular topics of interest (of the individual student).
I like the "real english" idea. I definitely hope you go over slang and its extensive use. Expressions such as "kind of" are mind boggling to a student. I focus exclusively on speaking and listening. I include slang (in both English and Spanish) and more proper language of course. I would include slang from different parts of the English speaking world as well.
I would suggest also including non traditional job scenarios. Some of my students here work at bars, "gentlemen's clubs", another is a masseuse, etc.
      Thanks

+gernm18 . Sorry for the delayed reply. I didn't get a notification of this and just happened to see it. I know what you mean about the filler words like 'kind of'. It takes a while to identify them in a foreign language. I have finally started to be able to use words like that in Spanish when I speak, which is really just a type of word you use to buy time to think.
Studying conversations are great because it really give a student access to hear the most common vocabulary and hear how native speakers transition between thoughts :)
We love slang too. Hopefully we have some time to do some slang lessons.... although they might not be clean slang. The most interesting and funny slang usually has some swearing in it. As long as the students are educated on when to use it, it should be okay as a side recommendation as a study resource.

مرتضی جاسم Awesome! I'm glad you find them easy to understand. The conversations are completely natural. Some people think we are talking slow, but this is the normal way that people talk in the western part of North America. We must have a neutral accent and speak clearly! Perfect for people learning :)

There are not English subtitles, this is useless, irritating and frustrating for a beginner.
