Does people know that Aurora songs are featured in Sky: the children of light game? You actually listen to them in the game during her season and then get to attend her concert .. Her songs are unreal.
I often prefer her live and acoustic/stripped, but this is one where the album version (and video) sticks out. It's also more "in your face". Important message. That being said, it's also really nice slowed down with just a guitar and harmonies 😊.
Personally, "acoustic/stripped" versions often strike me as too generic sounding. Like all the idiosyncratic character of the song is replaced with a paint by numbers sonic palette. I'm one of the rare weirdos who actually prefers the album version of Murder Song lol. That ascending chromatic "he holds my body in his arms..." bit is so cool sounding, but the semitone intervals are absent in the acoustic version. But...there's exceptions! The Woman I Am acoustic version is somehow even more effervescent than the original. And while I love the original The River...the way she plays it lately, where the chorus is slowed down into this deep swelling almost Sigur Ros sounding vibe...is stunning.
@@avedic I quite enjoy us not having the same favorites. Boring if we did 😄. I like melancholy music a lot, so when she slows her "poppy" songs down I tend to prefer those versions. A Temporary High is the best example. I tend to jump past The Innocent, but recently saw someone listing it as their album favorite. Highly disagree, but I still think it's kinda cooI 😊. I think her albums are VERY well produced, (love the album version of The River!), but suspect I sometimes enjoy live versions a bit extra as I enjoy watching her performance. The original version of Murder Song has actually grown on me, but I still prefer the acoustic 😁.

What I love about the video is her tribal clothing, dancing and singing style. Reminds me of all the indigenous people who are still fighting for their living foundations like clean water (or water at all), their rain forests, their holy mountains... in our "save" homes we still get only a glimpse of the destruction an still can go on with our lifestyle anyhow. Maybe that's a part of the problem. It has not really arrived in our REAL reality yet....
There are a number of other live versions of the Seed that are very good. The National Geographic, Earth Day, Eve, 2021, which looks to be at a similar time and location to the Haik concert. But IMHO, this is better. Likewise, there is a [Greenpeace Action All Areas] 20/06/2020, version with Aurora just with a keyboard, which is very good. The young climate strikers footage, was I think the first mass youth climate protests in the world, in Australia. These were inspired by Greta Thunberg's sole protest, but there'd been no, mass protests before then.
Almost all of her MV are simplistic and artistic compared to others. I don't if you noticed, you can see the warehouse at the sides of the backdrop where she filmed this, nothing over the top, mostly, just Aurora doing her artistic thing. Thanks.

Get used to it! When you think you have seen / heard it all, figured her out: she will surprise you again! I have seen her live 5 times, number 6 and 7 in 37/38 days, and I only know this: It's Aurora, she is going to be funny, fantastic, teasing, silly, intelligent, and magical. The rest: I will just show up and let the waves of Aurora hit me.... Before the consert I will say to myself, remember to take some pictures/video. When I get home I will find nothing because she melts my brain so I almost forget to breath 😂.....
The Seed is the only Aurora song that is best with the studio version. Everything else is much better live.
