A Quiet Shift - SS13 Fan Animation

- This took much longer than anticipated to come out because I was learning new techniques, trying out new animation programs and trying to improve my art quality - now a lot of this doesn't show in this video but what it means is that I can hopefully pump out animations much quicker AND of higher quality.
Also this video is based on events that happened to me in game some time ago. The Dated nature of the 'joke' sheds some light on when this was!
Either way I hope you enjoy!

Here is another video! Sorry it took so long, I explain sorta why in the description, it's nothing bad.
But I did say last time that the next video would not be ss13 related, well.... I lied. This was just meant to be a really short one to tide people over and it became a bit bigger than originally thought.
Nah for real I do have another video, its not super funny and is just something a bit more grounded for animation practice and it is like 80% done, so you can expect that and more soon-ish!
This was awesome, but i totaly laughed when he racked the bolt of the DIY shotgun, since it doesn't have one, poor miner, who mines with out a KA?0

That's basically what happened, it was such a clam round too
The atmos tech drinking himself to death rang 100% true
I'm not gonna lie, I actually forgot I put that in there lol
Even I forgot about the atmos tech, and I put him in the bloody video
I usually try to since up round when I is quiet and I'm captain too. Once I started a full scale rebellion against centcom, they sent a dathsquad to try and deal with us. It was amazing.
Honestly some of the best ss13 stories can come from what seem to be the most dull rounds

@@PopeRecords I use a mix of programs, primarily an editor that no one uses called marmoset Hexels 3, and then your normal suite of other video editing stuff (audacity, vegas, etc...)

Yeah chill rounds can be good, but there is always one asshole who needs to go postal on the station cause they are bored

Ok so after looking a bit into the scene it seems when the captain said the N word at the same time as poly they missed the announcement that poly was sentient and that the traitor was breaking into atmos to cause a plasma fire, the atmos tech was at bar and couldn’t help, when the fire started spreading to cargo there were only two people at cargo who blamed each other for the fire. :)
That does sound likely, you'll often find atmos tech at the bar instead of doing their jobs :P

This was based off a round on one of the servers but it was quite a while ago. Could have been old /tg station

I noticed that you're using Marmoset Hexels 3, so could you, please, tell me if there are any issues with this program?
I've been wanting to buy it BUT those comments on steam telling that the animation process is buggy/laggy kinda raise a red flag...

As for Marmoset Hexels 3, it does everything I want it to do (Except Sound >:[ ). It seems to be more a Jack-of-all-trades kinda program, so I won't pretend that it is the best art program out there but it does some things better, some things worse than other pixel-art programs, (but it is really good at doing isometric pixel art, which I sadly don't really do in my animations).
Overall its kinda hard for me to put into a youtube comment, but I will say that I found it to be the best pixel-art animation software personally. There are some bugs here and there, but its not some buggy-laggy mess at all, I've sunk thousands of hours into it with no real issues
If you want I could somehow show you/answer questions about it on something like discord or similar or just answer questions here

@@otiose_me Yeah all good, just keep in mind there are like no tutorials on how to use it, so just play around the tools and menus and you should find most things

I remember it being pretty chaotic and being chaotic is fun so long as I can still understand what the hell is going on!
As for servers I have played on several back a year or two ago. I haven't played anything super recent as my Aus Ping really makes playing sad at times. But I am looking at starting up again (and bearing through the ping)
@@milkcrater6352 You shouldn't have a ping problem on the Austation server, plus it'll fit with your timezone so you won't get too much lowpop.
