Funny how you use a pencil storage as a rising base for your monitor as I was debating on which monitor riser I should buy 😅

It's both useful and it does the trick! (also, it's what I had on hand XD). In the past, I've also used a pile of old, filled sketchbooks to make the height more customizable XD

The little kitty sketch is so cute. 😄
Oh, does this work with Krita? I didn't see that with the list of software.

Was thinking of this to help nurture my daughter’s artistic talent. I don’t have photo shop or any art software. What would work best for this on a budget?

Definitely has not just worked for me like that - I always have trouble with setting up tablets. I have two as paper weights and the pens get lost or broken before I get back to trying to get the tablets to work. Glad this was not expensive.

Can you still use the tablet even if the film has worn out or no film at all for Q8W?

There's quite a few free drawing softwares available online, like GIMP and Krita :)
This is from the UGEE website: "Also compatible with common drawing software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, SAI, CDR, GIMP, Krita, MediBang, FireAlpaca, Blender3D, and Microsoft Office, etc.")

programs like gimp or krita might be too advanced for your daughter to learn i would try simpler drawing programs like ibispaint or medibang they both have desktop and app versions and are very popular among young and old hobbyists and artists with a business.

This might be late, but firealpaca is what I would say is the go-to software! It has a very easy interface, but I would say the runner up to that is Krita, but I found it to be a very rough introduction into the software itself.
      Edit: both are free!
