It’s not even the beginning at this point, people have been calling out WG for years for their greedy cashgrab ways, but unless an actual authority steps in, it’s just going to get worse. The only power the community has is their presence in the game as a playerbase. Our voices does not matter, the CC’s voices does not matter if they can power their way through, then that just makes CC’s the face of the game and nothing else. The other issue is majority of those are either new players, or players that don’t care. Even the minority is still being split up because WG’s tactics of implementing FOMO.
@@_MrBread First, too many folks forget it's not about the F2P players. They are getting a gift, it's something for nothing, ain't that grand? When you pay nothing while there are paying players, you just might not be getting all the breaks. What has been the growth of revenue per player since inception? This is a big company bringing in over $1 Billion annually. What are all the costs paid with revenue? I still look at the bottom line, player costs: 1 F2P, 2 only buys Premium Time on sale = $8/mo, WoT Plus = $9/mo, Loot Boxes = your choice. If they bring it in as currently described and you purchase Premium Time + WoT Plus, you are out $4.25 weekly. You can progress the game faster, leveling some of the benefits of very good to great players. Look at all the Bond & Bounty equipment you see CC's playing with! It is skill that's makes the most difference. QB's F2P account will do just fine IMO.
There is just another negative impact in regards to bond demountig. There are very rare bond equipment parts like bond turbo which are not buyable but only winnable in events. They will switch from being one of the rarest items in WoT to a universal standard equip. This self-destruction of their game economy is absolutely insane.
Yes I agree. But on other hand for 7 e per month you can have same equipment as legacy players who are hording bonds for 5-10 years with which you will never be able to caught up to. Buying 2 sets of bond eq is much more managable
@@kadidark that is a really interesting "thinking outside of the box" idea. But, one could argue that's just another P2W element, because only users of wot+ are able to demount for free.
I just want to say THANK YOU QB for stepping up and calling WG out on their decisions. You, along with the other content creators, are really the voice of the WoT community, and I am very happy to see you and most of the others telling WG that they are wrong and that they need to fix their mistakes. I believe I speak for the whole of the community when I say "Thank you!"
@@aarepelaa1142 trust me if Dez, Skill, Daki etc. gonna say the same, ppl who are following them never gonna pay for it. They just risk the chance to kill the game and no one gonna play it (oh lord I will be there when it will happen).
You are thanking him here, but i think he has softened up since the last video about new patch. He started from kind of boycotting the patch, here he is literally approving everything wot plus has to offer, besides free bond equipment demounting.
Don't forget that due to how map bans will work, the tanks you face in those battles will simply be more focused on, as that person is actively level them. The extra 500 gold a week can be used to convert to exp, so, those tanks won't all be stock. The gaps will grow even further faster.
500 gold converted isn't really that bad, it's not a lot of XP that you'll convert. Maybe at low tiers, but high tiers you'll need a bunch of gold to change it even on certain "sale" moments.
@@kevindrykjja2959 I am kinda talking about t5-8. the 500G = at 25xp per gold 12,500 exp, which in a lot of cases will get you either the tracks on almost any tank, or the engine. At 40 per it's 20,000 which will get most mid tier turrets... Those are pretty big differences between those small upgrades and stock.
Big Deal!! now it is not 2 banned maps out of 38 maps, it's 3 banned maps out of 38. For that 500g/week: how many games do you play? Do you do 100+ games per week? (I do not) The gaps grow faster? I think the opposite will happen: fresh players will perhaps start to pay wot+ and will get better xp/equipment faster than you did and therefore will most likely close the gap between new and experienced players a little bit. Are you afraid that the inexperienced players will start to own you??
@@_nwck_ You have missed the point by miles. The point is, World of Tanks is a "Free to play" game. If people who do *not* pay feel *forced* to " pay wot+ and will get better xp/equipment faster than you (DeskKun) did and therefore will most likely close the gap between new and experienced players a little bit". it is no longer a free to play game, it is a game where you feel forced to pay just to keep up. I may be a veteren player, but I am mediocre at best and I am kinda ok with that. I make some dumb plays in games, I have fun and am the MVP in others. I could care less if newer players could catch up to me... That is only as long as they do not feel pressured to pay. The game has a gacha system (loot boxes) a premium membership and an MVP membership, that is an issue. QB and my point is that people should not feel forced to pay to play this game. Any game where you have to pay money to play by default has an entry barrier, any game where you start playing, start paying and are *still* miles behind other people, does not only have an entry barrier, it has system designed to get people to quit. There is no reward for playing better, unless they can start placing in ranked or get in clans, both of which require far greater than the "skill" acquired by paying for WoT+. Also, even if someone is willing to pay through the nose RIGHT NOW they still can't get the tanks they want, as it will be physically impossible for them to get up a tech tree that fast *and* many of the cool tanks (read op) are from auctions or loot boxes.
Yes it was but it was at a somewhat decent level....now it will be a forgotten game for the free2play players ... Already learning how to play Warthunder
Qb is wrong saying wot is currently only 10% pay to win… wot has been very pay to win for years and with the new update they will be over 95% pay to win
Honestly I don’t understand why WG not monetizing the loading screens by selling it to advertisers (you will see it in any case), in marketing, the player base of WOT age wise is the most wanted, so this function would be in demand and so it wouldn’t be necessary to use this monetisation policy to mess up mechanics
I thought the subscription would include the premium account with extra benefits on top, did they really have a bright idea of charging 9 bucks for only the extra perks of wot plus?
Those are all nice considerations you made on equipment demounting. But I think you missed an important point: With the free demounting, bounty equipment, but most importantly bond equipment will become the new standard equipment, so the question is: what will they introduce next? What will be the next op equipment? Will they be able to (yes they will) monetize the experimental equipment? And how?
qb, you missed one very important point when it comes to the bond eq. the advantage of bond optics over standard optics. in the ebr 105 it can be a disparity of a little over 13 meters more viewrange, which is a lot on that thing.
And bond vents would go on top of that. So give it another little bit. On tanks gg with just bond vents and optics vs normal. It has 400m vs 388.88m. Then there's the directive you can put on top. 408.80 vs 388.88. Add everything you can to the EBR. You get 463.10m. Skills, food, equipment. Then there's activating the skills in battle that could boost that even further. so lets just say an EBR gets over 9000m view range. Edit: I forgot to put the upgraded slot for the normal.
When the wheelies came out I closed my wallet to WG. If these changes go into effect as it appears they will, I'll close the door on the hope things will change back to the game that hooked me in the beginning. As someone who founded and built his own successful business I understand profit motives. But I'll never understand crapping on the sources of those profits. It's stunning to me they see things the way they do.
That's almost what's so heinous about this, to be honest. If you don't pay Wargaming money, you won't win. It's that simple. WOT+ isn't paying for an advantage, it's paying to not be disadvantaged. It attacks the entire free-to-play model of the game which has been a cornerstone for ten years. Now it's a pay to win game, nothing less
@@nicolasmariotti Short term, of course that's true. But if it drives players away, leaving just the whales, what's the advantage? The whales will have nobody to play against
They aint crapping on anyone. They have the data, they KNOW the big spenders - The Whales - are funding them and the big spenders will keep on being fleeced. The WHALES ! The same WHALES that buy the 279 through the boosting sites that WoT tacitly endorses ( and probably gets kickbacks from )
QB, firstly. Thank you for the years of content for this game. I remember watching your videos before high school classes a decade ago. I'll be completely honest, 9.20.1 may be the end of my WoT journey. Even IF WG pulls back the horrendous crew changes. Even IF WG elects to not implement WoT+. The writing is on the walls at this point. WG is aiming to absolutely squeeze every. single. Goddamn. cent. out of it's player base. They show zero signs of stopping this trend and the company's behavior is flat out abhorrent, and "aggressive" isn't even a strong enough term for it. Thank you again. Seriously. But unless WG pulls a 180 sometime soon, I am DONE with WoT.
@@MarkusJoncheray I genuinely envy your experience. If I could go back 10 years and smack my young self upside the head with "play this F2P ONLY" I would have.
Yes. WG wants to earn as much money as possible. Like any other for profit company. They want to do that by providing a good service, for which users will be willing to pay. If they don't provide such service, users will not pay. Welcome to real world. WOT+ is not pay to win. Bad players paying for WOT+ will not be able to win with good players that don't have it.

Don’t forget that with WoT Plus, you won’t need to research the last stage of Field Mods for up to tier 8. This is because bond and bounty equipment gets no slot bonuses. So there will be no need to spend XP on the final stage of Field Mods to get the extra slot bonus.
The most impotant pattern I have discovered in WoT is that they always bring in some new things which we want. and then they inflate it. When the bonds came in, you could get those only in Clan wars I believe, now you get it with playing tier 10 and in events as well. Grinding tanks used to take a lot of time. Now with premium and all the boosters, it is the easiest thing. Camo was very unique, now they give some much on event usually you have more then enough. Training crew was relatively hard. I become easier with the boosters, now all what people grinded will be inflated. Bond equipment's were hard to get. Now you can mount and remount those easily. Which is also a certain inflation in their value.
thats why we need free market in game so we can sold everything we do not need enymore to other players for gold, bonds or silver in amount we choose, i have a lot of all stuff i dont need
The term "powercreep" or perhaps more accurately "contentcreep" applies here. The newest thing needs to be rare and difficult to obtain so that the people who get it can feel accomplished and special. As the market gets saturated and tons of people have the item that used to be rare, it needs to be made easy to obtain so that new players don't feel like they're so far behind they can never catch up. The cycle continues on and on and this is how f2p games survive.
@@mazeradeville2911 What is f2p? Nevertheless. My point is that we should not grind for anything in this game. They will give it easily to us later mostly. Maybe it is worth grinding if it does not take a lot of time (like tier 6-7 vehicles).
@@toth1982 Free to play. Free to play games are almost always online only. A dev team needs to constantly produce balance patches and servers need to be kept up. The only way this model survives is by making the game so unfun to play completely free that most players will want to spend money. This needs to extend even to players who paid once in the past and wouldn't pay more otherwise which is why content updates are so important. Getting something later in a game that's constantly updated is not nearly as valuable as getting that thing now. There is no prestige or advantage if you wait. It's the equivalent of buying an iPhone 6 today because it was a good phone a decade ago and is affordable now since everyone has moved on to the bigger, better thing. Even if the iPhone 14 will eventually be outdated and very affordable, it's still often worth getting it today due to how much better it is than any other iPhone on the market today.
Conspiracy theory: WG never wanted to put bond equipment demounting in the game; they just made it the anchor for all hatred so that everyone is fine with them putting everything else in the game just bc they step back from free bond equipment demounting..
@@ottrakkaselg8033 Tgats why I was so quick to think about it as according to QB's reaction the bond equipment demounting is the only completely broken thing.
After years of accumulating this bond equipment this is a true stab in the back by WG. Thank you for the intensive breakdown of WOT plus . Hopefully WG looks at this and makes a few changes , after all it is a test , and perhaps they have overlooked some of the implications of the changes they are introducing.
QB. Thank you from all of the WOT community, that you step up for everyone and call out these bad decisions from wg... maybe they will hear you. You are one of the only creators, who is actually there for the community and not for WG❤
I have played the game since 2015. More than 75,000 games later I have all tanks researched (no blueprints required) with 15 to unlock. Most tech' trees are done and the Japanses TDs will slow me down to get the Master Technical Badge. I am better than average, but some of that simply comes from the accumulation of many high skilled crews and vehicles with lots of good equipment, simply from playing the game for as long and as often as I have done so. I think this coming patch may finally persuade me to take a permanent break from the game. I am not interested in a "subscrption", and knowing that there will be a tier of players above a premium account level more obviously buying their way to wins is something I have to resist by not playing, and not buying more premium time. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, good bye!
Totally agree with the bond thing, there's a big picture they didn't think of when doing that. Unless they did and do not care because they know it will make people want to get plus more.
QB, It will be interesting to compare your quickfingers account stats with your plays for free account stats and see if/how they diverge when WOT plus is enacted.
That would be extremely interesting. Even now I think that the F2P account has lower win rate maybe 59% whereas P2W account has about 61%. WOT plus would definitely further distance those two stats😬
I've played the game for almost 10 years. I've had some breaks during that time - the longest when the clown cars were introduced, but have always come back to play again. These proposed changes make me worry for the future of a game that I generally enjoy. Might be time for a break to see how the new update plays out. Your content for WoT has been great QB, I've really appreciated your tank reviews, game guides and your balanced approach to assessing the state of the game over the years. I hope that some of the proposed changes are revised in response to the almost universal criticism or it might be a permanent sign off from WoT for me.
the bond equipment demount is ether a big mistake or a calculated move to pave the way for experemental equipment anyway it will make it even more impossible to start the game from scratch its basicly saying we dont care about new players anymore we just milk remaining playerbase dry in any way imaginable
it costs millions of dollars to run servers to run an online game, do you think its free for them to run since its a free to play game, its not just cause something is free doesnt mean its free to run the idea of free to play games is dying join 2023 everything costs so much more now im looking forward to wot plus i spend about that much or more per month we pay for this game so free loaders and keep playing, i also want bots put into the game if enough of you leave then bots are fine with me
@Acceleration Quanta You think any new player will play this shit for more than two days when they see pay to win mechanics in the game, and no new players means no growth which means the game is dying because of their greed and predatory tactics
I remember the beta days again... All what "premium" players got was extra credits and that was about it. Times change fast and not in the best possible way...
This will be why I don't ever have to spend more money on this game... I'll be playing out the gold and premium time I got at Christmas and then go onto other games. I guess getting ~$100 per year for 6-7 years just wasn't enough for them. Too many other good games cost so much less. We should be getting more map variety (there should be 50-60 maps in this game by now), we should have had de-formable terrain and weather effects (and night games), but yet it's just more and more increasingly powerful tanks that seem to cost more and more money, time and/or effort. Ah Well, nothing good lasts forever.
Getting close to finishing my association with WG. It has been a frustrating journey at times, but now it seems like they are trying to get as much out of us before the game tanks (excuse pun). Good work QB always enjoy your vids.
im seeing some sort of pattern here, it seems as time progresses they will lose "unloyal" free to play players who likely play the game for a year of 2 before quitting the game, WG now has to rely on their "loyal" puppets aka the pay2win players to be able to profit from their game by selling more and more premium content.
@@karlomlinaric263 Been f2p since Alpha testing and no vehicles above tier 8 due to the no paying grind. Some of us have real lives. NOw it feels more and more like a Korean MMORPG
There is one thing that QB failed to mention. If wargaming do NOT and I repeat... DO NOT scrap the WOT plus plan or at least change the demounting equipment for free feature. Once it is the game, it'll stay in there forever. Hundreds if not thousands of players will rush to sell their equipment and wargaming can't just remove that feature few patches later. The game will be ruined forever.
Makes you wonder whether so many free to play players have left that WoT is having to make the Premium player base the cannon fodder for the WoT Plus player base.
Agree with many other players. Thank you QB for being there for us. I agree that this will break the game. Now we have to pay to get premium time AND pay to get even more benefits if we wanna be competative... and I am a free to play-player... mostly.
There‘s a possibility we all should be aware of: WG could add something lile the free demount into patches just as an rage bait. We all see that proposed change, get angry, WG removes it and we all say: Hey, look, they listen to the community. But the other 10 points in that patch which are less worse are now in the game and the community got duped.
You mention about demounting... is it too much to ask to pull equipment from one tank to the one you're equiping without having to jump through numerous screens? Just prompt a damn transfer...
Thie additional wot plus and increase in loot boxes throughout the year along with an apparent decrease in player base (NA sever seems to be about 15k players "logged in" each day, not all actually playing battles) could be an indication of a final attempt to rid us of extra money in our wallets because wot is quickly dying. Or maybe there is a shortage of wot supplies and the demand is such that they need to increase revenue. Or...maybe it is simply inflation affecting wg decisions. Don't forget wg just decreased the amount of premium account costs, that will help offset additional wot plus costs for players.
Here's a thought about the extra map ban slot as well. I don't know the matchmaker's logic, but I wonder if as more people ban specific maps, does it increase the chances that the matchmaker will put those that don't ban those maps into those matches. That would mean that you could be more likely to go on undesirable maps in tanks that are bad for that map if you are unable to ban them. I think these changes spell the death of WOT NA.
Yes, but at the same time, your opponent will be in the same category. So at least you are on a bad map but your opponent doesnt have a giga skilled crew with full bond equipment
While you are right about bound equipment and the economy I feel like this is nothing compared to the Crew Changes. A fully skilled crew's price tag is going to be insane and it will have a MASSIVE difference over an untrained crew. I could live with the bond changes if they go in but the crew changes might be enough to push me out.
So WG didn’t made that ridiculous new crew skill system for no reason. They know exactly how unfair that system would become, and they had a remedy prepared. Buy the new subscription!
I would like WG to tell why should I pay for a premium plus WOT+ when I cannot play for half of the day because in that timetable the MM and the RNG are so manipulated that the games last for two minutes and end in constant defeats, so I don't bother to play. What this change tells me is that WG's answering is "take my blackmail or it is going to be even worse". Al Capone was sligltly less more prude in their dealings.
They f'ed up WoWs years ago with the change to carriers combat and AA. Game balance has been crap ever since; I uninstalled WoWs last year - I'd had enough.
@Thomas Sørensen Both games have been hot garbage P2W games for a long time. At the very least WoWs doesn't have premium ammo or this brain dead subscription plus service, but it looks like subs, carriers and hybrids are going to wipe out the player count before they even have the chance.
WOT is actually thinking quite a bit on these patches... They see dollar signs only and DONT GIVE A RIP about the common Joe playing the game... CASE IN POINT - BOOSTING COMPANIES!!!!
Disagree with you about the 'pay to win' commentary. Yes there was always a 'Pay To Win' asset to the game, but it was only a very very minimal effect. This is now purely pay to win, so the 'average person' will have to spend about $15 euro per month. This will pull (I will estimate) around 60% of the player base out of the game, they will just be free targets. That is JUST on a monthly pay to win effect, but ontop of that, oh .. crew skills.. I currently have in excess of 400 crew members, at an average of 4 must-have skills per.. that means that I get to pay to win for 1200 purchases, nope definitely not doing that.
Already took part in their survey and told them to not do this. Can't get it into my head, what is going on right now at Wargaming. Essentially they are getting rid of new players and thinning the old blood. Makes no sense at all. Might as well reintroduce the old gold shells and give them to WoT Plus customers for credits. Damn, might have given them an idea here. Well, everyone rush their survey and if they don't listen let the game rest for 2 month or so and go on strike.
with the broken MM and win rates (18 battles 14% win rate) severs getting slower, massive win or losses 15 to 1 or 2, and battles lasting 3 to 5 mins, overpowered tanks. WG want me to pay 8 euros per month WHAT A JOKE Greed is overtaking is changing this game
i was a whale in this game I would spend over £150 a month as I wanted all the premium tanks and then the game just got worse the 279e and cheiftan where so OP, the amount of gold ammo being used and the bad bad maps, then the black sales made you spend more. When they killed arty off and made heavy tanks the meta I said no thanks so I stopped playing and I have to say i've not missed playing at all most of my clan mates have stopped playing due to the same reason. One thing I have to ask WG you said a couple of years ago you would make it so you did not lose premium time if you did not play that never happend did it? this crew 2.0 is another dumb idea thought up by non playing people, as WB has said this will kill the game. However WG made so much money already that if it stopped making money today they could still like a very good life.
QuickyBaby, thank you for making this video. I know you didn't want to make it, but WG12R needs to here about these realities on how this will impact other aspects of the game. I completely agree That switching bond equipment for free will seriously hurt New players, and I will feel bad for them when starting at tier 2! New players won't really have a chance to progress because WoT+ players will indeed play their premium tanks (tier 2 and up) with bond equipment if it's free to switch. Stack the new crew skills on top of this, and New players are just not going to perform well at all against WoT+ Whales. New players, (who might even be using 75-90% crews without any perks), will get killed faster, perform worse in their battles, and as a result, not continue to higher tiers or make credits because New players will be outclassed in every map they fight in. This disparity might even hold New players back from getting enough xp from battle to get their crew up to 100%. Feels Real Bad Man... So, to sum up, the MOST unfair part of WoT+ will be the free Bond switching! Besides this issue, there are quite a few of them in this update that raise serious CONCERNS. I'll list mine below: -Free BOND switching for WoT+ players. -New/Modified crew skills that give huge advantages. -Tanks with more crew have more skills, which leaves the same type of tank with less crew at a disadvantage on number of skills the tank has. -Many new crew skills are mandatory, so every tank crew will need more xp to get at least 2-4 skills to stay competitive. -Free XP for a tank crew with WoT+, they get xp for doing nothing! (Sorry new players with 75% crew, WoT+ players don't even need to play to get their crew % up.) -WoT+ players get a "rental" heavy tank that takes no penalty for the type of crew in it (even arty). xp for your favorite crew, or xp for a crew that needs it most. (Universal tank is for USA tanks only, so if you like French, German, Russia, etc nations, too bad). Even if they do push this universal tank through, only America gets a universal crew training tank? Is there going to be a tier 8 "Rental" tank for each nation? (Sorry New players, you should've chosen USA to start with, but you chose the (insert any other nation here) tech tree line... -And of course, the disrespectful offer of 12 CREW RETRAINS for current players! (will let us retrain 2-3 tanks) Who can afford to reskill all their other tanks? I have over 575 tanks (and I don't even have all the tanks). Even assuming they do allow free retrains on all the tanks you have; how long do you think it will take to reskill all the tanks you have? (I figure I'll need 20-30 minutes for each tank). Quick math- 575 tanks*30 minutes= 17,250 minutes or 287.5 HOURS!! That will take me months to change them! (And remember, I don't even have all the tanks in the game), That's the list I have, in my humble opinion. I just feel sorry for any new players, I foresee them getting clubbed as soon as they hit tier 2... Thanks again QuickyBaby for shining a light on these issues. Most online games NEED new players to continue going, and I hope all the points you made will reach where it needs to so New players will not just play one battle and quit, but they will play one battle, and Stay playing World of Tanks! I salute you QuickyBaby! o7
aye there is a difference between a player owning everyone mainly due to skill and a guy owning anyone just because he bought some sort of premium monster tank
Thank you QB for this excellent analysis of the WoT Plus. It's sad to see that a game i've been playing (mostly free-to-play, like 95% of this time) since 2011, is becoming a pay-to-win monster. Looks like Wargaming fell into this honeypot that a lot of gaming companies fall into and add more real-money-can-give-me-more-advantage aspect to the game. I assume a lot of players will stop playing (including me probably) after having all this disadvantage against pay-to-win opponents. It won't be fun anymore. Thank you again QB and take care!
I really like how you actually think about the people who may not be able to afford the $9/mo extra. Yes, its ONLY $9 but there are a lot of players, like myself, who live on a very strict budget and that extra $9 may not be doable some months. As usual, ty for breaking it down for all of us and keep up the good work :)
I used to be on tournament and CW teams that did pretty well. I stopped playing a few years ago, and so did most of the guys I played with. The only guys I knew still in the game just grind for fun now and then. Wargaming did a good job killing off interest in WoT a while back and since then they just find new ways to mine the remaining userbase for cash.
Good video.well explained. [ im Xbox, but discord 'flapping' about P+ heading for console] i never realised the huge difference in the in game 'eco system' , the gulf is huge and you have done a very good job of epxplaining the dynamics. 👍
You know QB, you are just confirming that WG is doing the right move by introducing those changes all at once. People will only complain once. And you already admitting that you will immediatly jump on to WoT Plus confirms that they are doing the right (short term) changes to milk the dying cow
Okay, this has to stop. Yes, there are issues with WoT+ and some are fairly serious. But the absolute mental gymnastics used in parts of this video are absurd at best, and fear mongering at worst. "ANYTIME you see this tank you will know it has a high skilled crew and YOU ARE AT A DISADVANTAGE" No, 90% of them will be weekend warriors who are using it to grind credits and crew skills because they either just started or can't commit several hours a day to grind a crew up and finally see a way to get more than a 2 skill crew. Sweatlords will have high skill crews on most tanks at this point. This mostly helps new/ casual players. "Whales will dump all their extra equipment and make millions of credits" They already have hundreds of millions just like you QB, but now new players won't have to blow millions on equipment to be competitive on a T7 grind tank only to throw it away and do it again on the next tank. This saves them money in the long run and gives them a slight chance of actually saving up for a whale auction one day. "You will only ever need 2 sets of bond equipment from now on" Again, who does that hurt? because the newer/casual player might only have 1 set of bond equipment. Now they can actually use it on more than 1 tank. This evens the playing field for them. "the new training system give you 40 exp every 5 minutes, meaning after a year you could get a 4 skill crew without even playing them" Yeah, its really that ridiculous. Not the training part, that fact that it required that much exp to get a DECENT crew (especially with the new changes). Last I checked there are only a handful of max skill crew out there compared to the total. This again helps flatten the curve by grinding one crew while passively training another (or allows you to actually take a few days off). "The tank with bond equipment has 100 extra DPM because it fires .3 seconds faster. That's 1 - clap - 2 - clap - 3 - clap - THAT much faster" You cannot be that stupid, and I hope your viewers are not either. The time it took for you to clap was .3 seconds, the time it took you to say 1 was .3 seconds. This part was honestly just insulting. And finally, the quotes that actually showed the real reason for these videos... "You have to play sweaty to even get this" and "I have spent over 85,000 bonds on equipment that I don't even need anymore" Yes, it sucks. I have spent enough bonds on equipment that I could have had the last few Bond tanks I haven't earned yet. The grind for those bonds was long and painful. But I am glad to see a way around that now and I am happy that others won't have to do the same thing. Don't get me wrong, there are valid points here. As it stands now, you WILL see alot more bond equipment at lower tiers. WG should address this and possibly limit bond equipment to T8+. I'm not here to say this is perfect or that WG isn't a garbage tier company. I have been around long enough to know otherwise.
This is why I believe QB is one of the best CCs when it comes to giving you a video about updates. Even though WoT+ is just filled with pay to win, even at the end of the video he doesn't fully condemn it, because he knows that Wargaming does this to make money, and simply telling them "don't make money then" isn't an option. He's able to compromise with some of the points and at the same time make it clear how stupid the other parts are, even if he's willing to accept them.
@@Appletank8 Right, and I think that's exactly what QB is getting at. Though, since he's been doing this for so long he knows that Wargaming doesn't like to go back on their word. So, instead, he's saying overall it's a problem, but we have to accept some level of it and really focus on the stuff that is game breaking.
After having sold your equipment for millions in order to use just demountable bond gear, would you trust Wargaming not to make another change in the future meaning you'll need to buy all that gear back again?!?
I have quite a bit of bond gear…. But never put it on. Never once. I was always searching for the vehicles that I wanted it on, while worrying that it would get lost amongst my many dozens of high tier tanks and with the knowledge most players don’t have it on everything so it wasn’t a big deal. But now, the whales will have it on EVERY tank they play. Crud.
the free bond demounting is the only dealbreaker for me imo. if it goes through wot can just have bond players playing against other bond players and we'll see how fast it dies then
I kinda feel like WG put themselves in a position where they can't even remove the equipment demounting feature from WoT Plus since they've basically already advertised it as a feature. They'd either have to take a huge loss on the amount of people who will subscribe to it without the equipment demounting feature, or reduce the cost to compensate. I'm sure neither of those scenarios are acceptable for them so its just easier to ram it into the game as is.
True. Dilemma situation. But maybe they think about a compensation. I fo one would be happy to be able to use all garage camos and paints for free. And this would not affect gameplay whatsoever.
I feel you didn't touch on this sufficiently QB. But the TS-54 all-crew-allowed BS also means you never ever have to retrain crew again. You only need to train them once for the dedicated tank you want them to drive, and then never ever have to retrain it because you can just sling them into the TS-54 regardless.
I think WoT+ is unnecessary, but if they feel they need some sort of additional subscription model, then it should not include outright pay to win aspects. There is plenty they can do, maybe boost the advantage of premium by giving a little extra XP and credits. Pay to progress is fine, even giving some gold is fine but not free demounting of any equipment. They are going to lose one of their main gold and bond sinks in the game. And don't even get me started on the new crew skills. I hope they change their minds about this too. I understand that companies need to make money, but wargaming are not short of cash or income. This is just insulting to players, especially those of us that always run a premium account. Its as though our money isn't good enough anymore. I for one have already started to distance myself from the game assuming they won't change anything. I'm pretty much down to just doing my daily missions so I can progress the battle pass and playing other things the rest of the time.
Thanks for the video QB. I've played WoT for almost 12 years and have never paid a cent (not kidding). I've always been F2P and play arty at least 80% of the time on the NA server. I'm a casual player with average skills. I've noticed a lot of stupid stuff that WoT has done especially in the last few years. It seems the upcoming update confirms my decision to be totally F2P. Not a big loss to stop playing then. I do feel bad about those that have invested money as it seems WoT is about just wanting P2W players to spend even more.
I like the video . Still dont agree on all that was said. I also think mounting and demounting bond equipment for free is a bad idea. But too bad you didnt include the problem of the battlepass if wot+ goes live. What will be the point of the battlepass in the future . In the current form its gonna be almost useless to a wot+ subscriber. As a WoT+ subscriber you will be interested in few things that are in the current form of battlepass. Bonds, credits, wot premium time and tokens for new tanks . So the next battlepass will have to change or a lot of players might just not buy it ...
Good point. I mentioned this in the forum. WoT+ is actually canibalizing other features of the game by which WG creates money: the motivation of players to hunt and play for bonds. And the motivation to buy the battle pass which for many players is only interesting because of bounty equip, xp and bonds. It looks like the different teams within WG havent talked to each other.
Does this mean that WG will cease giving demounting kits as rewards for missions and some events? That will increase the incentive to get WOT Plus. In any case, thanks, QB, for standing up for all players. I'm really thinking hard about whether I should continue in this game.
For WoT Plus in terms of business He needs a predictable recurring income. But looking at the current benefits, it seems too small. At least if there is a part that overlaps e.g. You can choose whether to get gold or get it as a premium account that week should be good. Although it is 9 dollars, about 300 baht, but if you have to pay a total of 600 baht per month to get full benefits It will look a bit tired. It would be better to save money and wait for the event model to throw money at WG's face. This is my personal opinion from a Zone player SEA.
Three-course meal in a mid-range restaurant in Thailand can cost you around 400 baht. In a cheap restaurant it can be 70 or 80 baht and I am not mentioning the food quality is a top notch even in cheap restaurants or markets. 10 good meals or hours of frustration playing the pixel game run by greedy company. The choice is yours.
@@Khamrim Everything is more expensive everywhere not only in Thailand. I am just saying if I were staying in Thailand WOT would have to pay me to play this game. So many beautiful places to go, very good food and close distance to any SEA country and Thailand is still not so crazy expensive.
4 million xp per year. So maybe if you live for 100 years you can get half of the skills on your commander for the manticore.
Lol true
Wait for that proposed change where you only have one crewmember per vehicle like WoWS...
That's the beginning mate, if it works i think they are going to behave more greedy to collect more and enlarge the benefits of the premium stuff.
How long will it be before all this stuff comes to the ps4 console 😢
Yes I agree. But on other hand for 7 e per month you can have same equipment as legacy players who are hording bonds for 5-10 years with which you will never be able to caught up to. Buying 2 sets of bond eq is much more managable

You are thanking him here, but i think he has softened up since the last video about new patch.
He started from kind of boycotting the patch, here he is literally approving everything wot plus has to offer, besides free bond equipment demounting.
True. Wg couldnt care less what content creators think unless they run out of the said whales that pour their money on them.
(I do not)
The gaps grow faster?
I believe it has always been “pay to win” in some way
It is.
The only thing that’s new is that QB is calling it out.

The demounting should be limited to three per day, or just standard equipment. They should also blend premium accounts with the subscription somehow.
I thought the subscription would include the premium account with extra benefits on top, did they really have a bright idea of charging 9 bucks for only the extra perks of wot plus?
Those are all nice considerations you made on equipment demounting.
But I think you missed an important point:
With the free demounting, bounty equipment, but most importantly bond equipment will become the new standard equipment, so the question is: what will they introduce next?
Cvs, optics and vents in combination of brutally skilled crew 2.0 and food.
Bruh.
I’ll be honest. I barely see one Ebr a day and the mm is mirrored. Clown cars are the least of our concern
Honest question: maybe WG has data that proves that "whales" are the better source of profit?

Bonds were always available by playing Tier 10 from time of introduction.
thats why we need free market in game so we can sold everything we do not need enymore to other players for gold, bonds or silver in amount we choose, i have a lot of all stuff i dont need

I am not interested in a "subscrption", and knowing that there will be a tier of players above a premium account level more obviously buying their way to wins is something I have to resist by not playing, and not buying more premium time.

best wot plus feature would be a ping of 30-50ms instead of 300ms
Gunner sergeant Highway said it best... "Its a cluster f*ck"
Makes you wonder whether so many free to play players have left that WoT is having to make the Premium player base the cannon fodder for the WoT Plus player base.
+- 25% RNG should be illegal anyways as it is literally gambling.
Agree with many other players. Thank you QB for being there for us. I agree that this will break the game. Now we have to pay to get premium time AND pay to get even more benefits if we wanna be competative... and I am a free to play-player... mostly.
As the saying goes "cause the problem, sell the solution"
There‘s a possibility we all should be aware of: WG could add something lile the free demount into patches just as an rage bait. We all see that proposed change, get angry, WG removes it and we all say: Hey, look, they listen to the community. But the other 10 points in that patch which are less worse are now in the game and the community got duped.
Bro you were right lol
WoT+ when the servers are lagging like crazy these past few days... WG needs that money to water and feed that Hamster in the wheel!
At this point, if you keep playing World of Tanks even after all of these changes, you're no better than Wargaming in my opinion.
You mention about demounting... is it too much to ask to pull equipment from one tank to the one you're equiping without having to jump through numerous screens? Just prompt a damn transfer...
Well, your free to play account is going to be lots of fun!😉
I never understood the idea of investing in something that they could shut down tomorrow.
Excellent point. Being f2p will completely suck because of this one thing alone, especially when the map rotation currently completely sucks
map rotation will be more horrible than ever. You'll play for 2 hrs and only get 4 maps.
Good point
Yes, but at the same time, your opponent will be in the same category. So at least you are on a bad map but your opponent doesnt have a giga skilled crew with full bond equipment
« welcome *bank* to World of Tanks » Some old habits never change ^^
While you are right about bound equipment and the economy I feel like this is nothing compared to the Crew Changes. A fully skilled crew's price tag is going to be insane and it will have a MASSIVE difference over an untrained crew. I could live with the bond changes if they go in but the crew changes might be enough to push me out.
So WG didn’t made that ridiculous new crew skill system for no reason. They know exactly how unfair that system would become, and they had a remedy prepared. Buy the new subscription!
Hi QB
I really agree with u on this Wot + update 400%
They should listen to the players
I would like WG to tell why should I pay for a premium plus WOT+ when I cannot play for half of the day because in that timetable the MM and the RNG are so manipulated that the games last for two minutes and end in constant defeats, so I don't bother to play. What this change tells me is that WG's answering is "take my blackmail or it is going to be even worse".
Al Capone was sligltly less more prude in their dealings.
I would honestly say WoT Plus has gone from 'Pay to Win' to 'Pay to Play'. Now I'm fearing they'll do the same incompetence to WoWs too...
The passive exp gain is a little more than a booklet each 2 days... thats huge and really pay to win.
They are sensing the players nerves i think mate, wouldn't be suprising if they increase passive exp gain one day to demand more money.
@@facakir They'll call that WoT++.
with the broken MM and win rates (18 battles 14% win rate) severs getting slower, massive win or losses 15 to 1 or 2, and battles lasting 3 to 5 mins, overpowered tanks.
RIP Quicky's Free to play account... We will miss you...
I'll list mine below:
-Free BOND switching for WoT+ players.
(Sorry new players with 75% crew, WoT+ players don't even need to play to get their crew % up.)
-WoT+ players get a "rental" heavy tank that takes no penalty for the type of crew in it (even arty). xp for your favorite crew, or xp for a crew that needs it most.
(And remember, I don't even have all the tanks in the game),
That's the list I have, in my humble opinion.
Love the content QB! Keep up the good work
Thank you QB for this excellent analysis of the WoT Plus.
WG: releases crew 2.0
QB: 9 skills are hard to reach!
WG: here... have wot+, you'll gain crew exp without playing!
😢
Very impressed with the amount of thought and detail you put into this. Thanks for laying it all out so clearly!
Who else misses turning on your console, putting in the game and playing?
If they touch my crews after my having worked so long to build them, im out.
Maybe you also get a normal functioning server with this subscription. I am having insane 300 ping lag spikes and I believe I’m not the only one.
Free standard equipment demounting would be an excellent quality of life improvement. Free bond equipment demounting ruins the whole point of bonds…
Me: nothing to watch.
QB: posting a new video.
Me: 🥳
guys im calling it,in this year they will start selling bonds for money too!
You know QB, you are just confirming that WG is doing the right move by introducing those changes all at once. People will only complain once. And you already admitting that you will immediatly jump on to WoT Plus confirms that they are doing the right (short term) changes to milk the dying cow
WG has bee dying for 10 years according to youtube comments. must be agonizing for the owners:)
@@ottrakkaselg8033 Well it is dying according to their user statistics. It is only question of how long are you on life support ;)
@@ottrakkaselg8033 it’s been dying since 2018 or when ever those the defender came out
Okay, this has to stop.
I feel like there should be ways to make money without putting gameplay changing things into the game, tho?
@@Appletank8 Right, and I think that's exactly what QB is getting at.
Though, since he's been doing this for so long he knows that Wargaming doesn't like to go back on their word. So, instead, he's saying overall it's a problem, but we have to accept some level of it and really focus on the stuff that is game breaking.
After having sold your equipment for millions in order to use just demountable bond gear, would you trust Wargaming not to make another change in the future meaning you'll need to buy all that gear back again?!?
×2 Pay to win lmao that's crazy
I have quite a bit of bond gear…. But never put it on. Never once. I was always searching for the vehicles that I wanted it on, while worrying that it would get lost amongst my many dozens of high tier tanks and with the knowledge most players don’t have it on everything so it wasn’t a big deal.
But now, the whales will have it on EVERY tank they play. Crud.
29:07 3 steps forward one step backward this is what WG wanted to community accept
the free bond demounting is the only dealbreaker for me imo. if it goes through wot can just have bond players playing against other bond players and we'll see how fast it dies then
I kinda feel like WG put themselves in a position where they can't even remove the equipment demounting feature from WoT Plus since they've basically already advertised it as a feature.
The map blocking feature doesnt work anyways, i have 2 blocked that i still get all the time.
@Quickybaby/Will - Thank you for leading the way in fighting back against this insane so-called, "update", that will ruin this game. Well done!
You absolutely nailed it. WOT should be ashamed of themselves if they are going to implement this. It will absolutely ruin the game!
-7 players here.. our whole wot group deleted this game. We go back when wot plus is gone.
Good job, I want to see how it is implemented but I am about to quit again.. I am 9 years in but I took a half year break recently and came back
and the lie detector test determined that was a lie
I quit like 3 years ago and I get back sometimes, but it takes me like 10-15games to remember why I quit and I quit again

If at this point it is news to someone that f2p is pay to win I'm shocked.
Remember when QB used to say it was Pay to Progress and now the tune is Pay to win and always has been lol
If the past investments keep you in... can you get anything back for a 30-50% pay2win game? I can't...
@@SuperRadexx Anyway, I'm used to this game, what will it add? Anyway, I'm already choosing my own path whether to buy or not to buy
@@SuperRadexx By the way, in my country right now, the price of food and everything has gone up until I feel like going crazy, haha.
