You hit the nail on the head. Led Zeppelin gets into your soul ..your spirit. I did 22 years in prison as a kid got jammed up in a shootout. Drugs. I had one thing they couldn't take away in prison ..my music. Put my headphones on and this band has been my absolute favorite since 69' when I was a kid 11. I'd play my LZ turn my Walkman stereo up to Max volume and listen to them live 73 at Madison square garden . On cassette . They took me to space away from the prison walls. You close your eyes they are right in front of you. No band ...I Mean No Band is this perfect in all four areas Each band member is the best rock n roll ever produced The Allman brothers band is in second place. But ...no band comes close . That's why the Stones were jealous....Eric Clapton was jealous ...Jimi Hendrix was jealous....you wouldn't believe it. Everyone feared these guys in 68' ..69' when they hit USA
This song is so special yet somehow has gotten overlooked as one of their slower pieces, probably because of their masterpiece Rain Song. They’re both songs that anyone can truly appreciate and stand the test of time
Ahhhhhh…….Helene here. My favorite band. The layering overdubs that Jimmy did on this song are simply exquisite. Ten Years Gone is, to me, part of a subgroup of songs in their catalogue that includes The Rain Song, What Is and What Should Never Be, Going to California and That’s the Way. More mellow? More introspective? They just seem to go together in my mind. I know that the lyrics to most of these songs all come from Robert Plants personal experience, as is the way with many songwriters. If you haven’t heard some of these, you should. And an utterly incredible slow blues from their later work is Tea for One. God, it’s so heartfelt, and Robert sings it so well…..with so much feeling.
The lyrics of this masterpiece talk about a choice Robert had to make early in his career: pursue his dreams in music, or give it up for a woman he loved but who wanted to settle down. Obviously that choice changed the face of popular music forever. Jimmy created the music for this song in his home studio, and delivered the completed song to the band when the album was recorded.
My favorite Zep song, my favorite song period. It hits me in my soul every single time. Love watching you experience music, it’s never disappointing! 🎶💜🎵
I used to give my neighbors son a ride to school if he missed the bus and one morning I had this song on. The kid looked at me and said; "You've always got the best music on your stereo." I gave his mom some Christmas gift ideas and he was one happy guy on Christmas morning! This was years ago, back when you still bought CD's. Something I'll never forget.
Jimmy Page is the greatest composer and producer of rock. I also think his solo in this song is one of the best. Beautiful tone and phrasing, and so emotional. Love this song. And I totally share your love for Zeppelin. Jimmy is my all time musical hero.
Such a beautiful song. They are the GOAT. Back in the day I used to go to NYC and the village - on the east side is the building on the album cover. Everytime I walked by I would stop and just look for a few seconds and hear the music in my head.
Then as it was, then again it will be And though the course may change sometimes Rivers always reach the sea Blind stars of fortune, each have several rays On the wings of maybe, down in birds of prey Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to grow But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be Did you ever really need somebody And really need 'em bad Did you ever really want somebody The best love you ever had Do you ever remember me, baby Did it feel so good 'Cause it was just the first time And you knew you would Through the eyes an' I sparkle Senses growing keen Taste your love along the way See your feathers preen Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes Didn't have to grow We are eagles of one nest The nest is in our soul Vixen in my dreams, with great surprise to me Never thought I'd see your face The way it used to be Oh darlin', oh darlin' I'm never gonna leave you I never gonna leave Holdin' on, ten years gone Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone Ten years gone, holdin' on
Hello 😊 You expressed So Beautifully What We Also Feel About Zeppelin & Their Talent. When you said "they are my friend" I really felt that. Truly, growing up thru my very troubled teens, Zed was always there, as an adult, Zep always had a perfect song to fit my mood.. So yes, a friend for Life. 🕊🧘♀️🕊🎶🎼🎶🕊🧘♀️🕊
I will remain forever faithful and in love with led zeppelin. Thanks to your reactions, many young people will know the true meaning of music. You are listening to the best.
My Brother ....there's NO OTHER ROCK N ROLL BAND in HISTORY .. that has this perfection this ability to take you on a new journey every single time. Please react to this Live track. " HOW MANY MORE TIMES ," LIVE 1970 ROYAL ALBERT HALL 24 MINUTES LONG. ITS LIKE THEIR LIVE DAZED N CONFUSED FROM 73' MSG. MIND BLOWING BRO!!! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST ZEPPELIN REACTORS. I SAW THEM LIVE ....75' . INCREDIBLE BAND
You need to listen to every album completely. They are one of those. You guys are VIP’s on the Rock and Roll Time Machine list of past concerts. I’m tour guide to make sure you do it right. Ha Ha! It will only hurt a little. Ha Ha! I’ll laugh my ass off watching your brains melt live.👍😇
'Led Zeppelin will remain with me for the rest of my days' - man! me too, no doubt whatsoever! I enjoyed your discussion of the various parts of the song - yes, that lead guitar break is so heartbreakingly beautiful!💖
One of my Zep 5 all-timers. I bought this double album in 1979 but in 1982 I really discovered this song as it was the 10th anniversary of my parents divorce and the year I graduated High School. It just makes me long for my dad.
This one is a beaut!!! No one ever did it quite like them. Zeppelin and Pink Floyd are on another level. For me In My Time Of Dying is the best of the whole album, check it out!
They made a movie too! It’s not just live concert footage either. It’s the same title as the album, The Song Remains the Same. A MUST for any LZ fan. Same thing with PINK FLOYD, The Wall! Album and movie.
Another fantastic song from the amazing Led Zeppelin - I have so many songs downloaded from them, they are just incredible. I feel that I've been listening to their music all my life!! You're quite right when you talk about John Bonham, George. I mentioned in a previous comment, that Bonzo's drum solo on the song Moby Dick, is just phenomenal and I do hope you will react to that sometime. Other great songs by LZ which I don't think you've reacted to yet are In the Evening, Communication Breakdown, Nobody's Fault But Mine and The Rover. Plenty more I know, but these are three of my favourites. Great reaction George, many thanks. Hope you're feeling better and look forward to seeing Patrick again soon. My very best wishes to him and to you too, of course. Take care.
Led Zeppelin is not your friend, you are Led Zeppelin. You don’t learn to like Led Zeppelin, what they play is who you are! There will never be another Led Zeppelin is the same as saying there will never be another you!
I bought this album, Physical Graffiti for two songs, Kashmir and In the Light. I was in 8th grade. But when I heard Ten Years Gone, I was transfixed on this song. It was both pleasing and depressing. After knowing the story behind it, I understood. Beautiful song...
James Patrick Page, Robert Antony Plant, John Henri Bonhan, John Baldwin was, is and always will be the perfect match! it boils down to the greatest rock band of all time and in every way... feeling and pure musicality, it was the rock n roll revolution. that is, they rock n roll so the queen wouldn't hear...
One of my favourite studio solos from Jimmy, its a lovely song, but the quiet intro section and its repeat throughout the song are so inspiring and soothing like a summer breeze. Hey hurry back Patrick!
Jimmy intended this song to be an instrumental so he used 14 guitar tracks to overdub and layer which resulted in an incredibly lush, rich, instrumentation. He points to this song as an example of guitar orchestration rather than being riff oriented.
Not one of them took "control" of the band because they were a band of brothers that loved and respected each other. They were a family. The reason why they were so great is because each and every one of them contributed. The reason the band stopped is for the same reason. One of them was unable to contribute anymore. It is selfish for me to think they could continue without the missing member. What makes this also difficult for me is I know the spirit of this band. The band would also convey to us that even if or when we were missing a member, to try to continue trying. Example: A soldier looses a member of his or her body. He or she would still want to try to continue moving forward. Never give up is the spirit while also recognizing some things are not possible. The name Led Zep is a business and licenses and rights belong to others and it is what it is. Better to let go and try to move on. Keep the good from it all and let the bad go. I love this band of brothers
George!! Exciting news! Beth Hart has recorded a Led Zeppelin cover album due out Feb 2022. Utube released one song so far " good times. Bad times" in my opinion- there are only 2 females that have the skillet vocals to pull off Led Zeppelin-Beth Hart and the group Heart. Even if you don't feature on your station go now and listen. She has already( years ago) performed whole Lotta love in the studio. You know damn well that cover is amazing if you know Beth
and oh my friend my name is tchello I'm from Brazil and I'm sick with Led zep! I really like your channel and I see how much you and I think your brother likes led zep .. Zeppelin is my first head band and I saw an album on your other channel in the background like in a shelf of a band called Uriah Heep the album Demons in the wizard another band that I love ... comment about it beauty my friend earned a save from the brazilian people ..
I highly recommend the 1990 remaster of this song distributed by the official Led Zeppelin page. This version is, ehh. Poor quality to say the least in comparison. Best quality is the 1990 remaster. Nevertheless!! I absolutely LOVE this song, and is one of my all time favourites from them. I'm so happy that you found this hidden gem of theirs man 🤘
they simply overpower the moment...once you hear the music...thats all you hear...whenever you hear an LZ song in a movie or a commercial (very rare by the way)...its the music the audience focuses on...not the movie scene...or commercial....
You want to here another cool song of theirs? Fool in the Rain is different and outstanding. Really, you can pick any song of theirs. They have no weak songs. Any song, off of any album is going to be good. They are one of those rare bands that you can throw a dart at and it’s gonna be great. One of the things I really like about them is that they experimented with all types of different musical styles and genres. They even have a country song! Hot Dog! Ha Ha!
Awesome reaction George! Thank you!!! I know I’ve said it before but it’s just so fun watching you react to music because you appreciate it so much! There’s another Led Zeppelin song that is really cool it is called “D’YER MAK’ER” It’s a little bit different so as with all the songs you guys do, it will be fun to watch you when you get around to doing that one! Good to see you, take care! Hi Patrick! 😀💜
This song is a flat out masterpiece which unexplicitly stays under the radar.
If I were forced to choose a favorite Zeppelin song, this would be it.
Every time I listen to Led Zeppelin, it transports me back to a place and time. Love this song. Oh darlin'...
Led Zeppelin is my friend too and has been for 50 years 👏👏
This song is so beautiful it always brings tears to my eyes.
“Led Zeppelin is my friend.” Indeed, they are. Indeed they are.
Robert Plants voice reaches to my soul!! Never will there ever be another Led Zeppelin🎵💙🎸🎶💙
You hit the nail on the head. Led Zeppelin gets into your soul ..your spirit. I did 22 years in prison as a kid got jammed up in a shootout. Drugs. "You're Time Is Gonna Come" is an Epic song as well...!
I am so glad you are a zeppelin fan!!!!! Always and forever Zeppelin fan!!
The universe was lined up perfect the day they all got together to form Led Zeppelin; all masters of their craft.
This song is so special yet somehow has gotten overlooked as one of their slower pieces, probably because of their masterpiece Rain Song. They’re both songs that anyone can truly appreciate and stand the test of time

I would add Tangerine to that beautiful selection of tracks.

i played this album continuously , I was a teenager in the 70s . And one of my fav songs from that album, weeelllllll, tne whole album is great
My favorite Zep song, my favorite song period. It hits me in my soul every single time. Love watching you experience music, it’s never disappointing! 🎶💜🎵
The song is sad but with awe inspiring beauty.
This is one of their all time 75 best songs
In the top three Rock bands of all time.. No Doubt!
This is my favorite Zep tune of all time. So underrated!
From their masterpiece, IMHO, PHYSICAL GRAFFITI
I used to give my neighbors son a ride to school if he missed the bus and one morning I had this song on. The kid looked at me and said; "You've always got the best music on your stereo." So wholesome!

And I totally share your love for Zeppelin. Jimmy is my all time musical hero.
I love Jimmy’s riff!! Fire!🔥🔥
One of the best songs ever.
Easily.
Best Led Zepplin song there’s is
Zeppelin is Honest to themselves and to their Fans
Another masterpiece
Such a good tune. It brings me back to much younger years. I miss many who where then around and no longer are. May God bless the lot of us.
They are simply magnificent! Watch all their live performances and listen to all their albums!
They have more truly great songs than any other band I know. Not merely "very good" songs but "truly great."
One of my favorite songs off one my favorite albums!!
This song is so underrated.
Glad to experience it with you!!
"Ten Years Gone" and "The Rain Song" are the two best songs Led Zep ever released.... good lord....
Such a beautiful song. They are the GOAT. Back in the day I used to go to NYC and the village - on the east side is the building on the album cover. Everytime I walked by I would stop and just look for a few seconds and hear the music in my head.
Beautiful riff, lyrics, solo and bassline, nothing else to ask for
"Trampled Under Foot"
Then as it was, then again it will be
And though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea
Blind stars of fortune, each have several rays
On the wings of maybe, down in birds of prey
Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to grow
But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go
Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me
In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be
Did you ever really need somebody
And really need 'em bad
Did you ever really want somebody
The best love you ever had
Do you ever remember me, baby
Did it feel so good
'Cause it was just the first time
And you knew you would
Through the eyes an' I sparkle
Senses growing keen
Taste your love along the way
See your feathers preen
Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes
Didn't have to grow
We are eagles of one nest
The nest is in our soul
Vixen in my dreams, with great surprise to me
Never thought I'd see your face
The way it used to be
Oh darlin', oh darlin'
I'm never gonna leave you
I never gonna leave
Holdin' on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin' on
The most beautiful lyrics ever in my opinion. 🎶💜🎵
@@remedy9648 I agree 💯 %
@@remedy9648Jimmy put stunning music down first and Robert rose to the challenge. Stunning lyrics

Ah, my favorite Zep tune. Listen to it “enhanced”
What a great comment “A lifetime friend “ is so perfect….. they are my best buddies along with Yes and Early Genesis .
Masterpiece!!!
John Paul Jones is a really good musician! He deserves to be mentioned in every ZEP stuff
One of my favorite Zeppelin songs.

Where is the Bro! Dude you should do the Albums song by song from the beginning!
I scrolled though the comments hoping someone would say where the Bro went.
One of my favourite studio solos from Jimmy, its a lovely song, but the quiet intro section and its repeat throughout the song are so inspiring and soothing like a summer breeze. Hey hurry back Patrick!
Cant wait until you do LZ albums!!🎶💙
I love the way you let the music wash over you. We send you and your brother love from the other Georgia, in the USA. Peace thru music.
Maybe my favorite Zeppelin tune…
The layering of the guitars is simply incredible!!!👏👏👏
I always preferred to hear this song, and “Down By The Seaside” alone. Not really ones to share with others. They are both super awesome!
Lot's of good ones on this album. Down By The Seaside is nice.
The best song Led Zeppelin

Indeed!
Gotta check out the live version by the Croatian band "Gruhak." Those guys had the best versions of so many Led Zeppelin and other classic rock tunes.
I found you here in close to the edged and I loved you
One of my favorite LZ songs. I believe it was the Black Crows who covered this song with Jimmy Page playing guitar on the track.
Great reaction! Have you done “How many more times” studio version. Epic!
Awesome reaction George! Thank you!!! I know I’ve said it before but it’s just so fun watching you react to music because you appreciate it so much!
