Hey 7d7 thanks for the video post. I have had my MT for about 6 months and it is an FPV favorite. This thing is fast and very efficient. If you don't love yours, I'll buy it!
Ha! I beat you to the maiden, it's uploading now, lol! However, your build will certainly be better than mine. I still have to install the 360 pan servo and somehow attach both cameras. Maybe I'll use just the run cam like you are doing....
Can you provide the positions of the V-Tail ruddervator for the stabilized flight mode. Also in stabilized mode , what is the position of the left and right V-Tail when we do a right yaw.....thank you in advance
Hi! I´m building my mini Talon at the moment, and plan using the arkbird autopilot. Does this work with two ailerons and the v-tail? Would be great if you could help me with that, before everything is put together. Thank you, I´m loving your vids, really great rc stuff!
Yes, just select the vtail option in the menu. You will need to plug one vtail servo into the elevator output and one servo into the rudder output. Ailerons will be on a "y" Connector
The pan servo you listed is continuous rotation. I'm not so sure if that's a good idea. Wouldn't a GWS S125 servo be better? At least that can center with the camera facing forward.
Maiden flight was a huge success! Easy to fly - landing was long but uneventful. Flew for about 10 min using 4s 5200, had 80% left in the battery. I'll be editing the footage soon- I left my sd cards at my studio- so no editing today😕
Thanks for the upload, and great channel btw. Quick question: Did you use goop to join the two main fuse halves too, or was that just on the wood tray? Thanks. :)
I used digital servos on my talon and as soon as they hit the foam the make that horrible noise. You will love the mini Talon once you learn its quirky ways. It glides like a dream but it hates to slow down for a landing so make sure you give it plenty of room. At least double the normal length of landing strip. I would say it stalls around 20 miles an hour so you can expect some hot landings. Also consider re-enforcing the underside and the leading edges of the wings with tape etc. Otherwise they will take a beating on those fast landings. Happy flying and keep up the great work on your videos.
The Mini Talon is a very stable platform but it wants to glide forever especially when its low to the ground. It shouldn't tipstall. The issue is that the talon is such a good airframe and it just wants to glide even when you power off the motor. With the deep wings its like landing a glider with a 2.5 meter wingspan. Just allow plenty of room to land it the first few times.
HELP !!! i have a mini talon also im building with arkbird and dragonlink . its my first v tail . can you help me out and tell me where to plug the vtail into on the arkbird which channel and do i need a y connector for the tail and the wing ??
I have been considering this kit with a 433 uhf/vector. Very nice job.Great advice 4 all of us to use in construction.
great job dude did you know where is the gravitiy centre of x uav talon
Nice video and good tips. I like those horns and clamps for the servo wire.
They are my favorite- my only horn failures were with single sided horns pulling out of the foam!
Thanks man, i'm just building up one of these myself in 2 weeks or so, so very useful!

Not a chance, I maidened it today and it flew great!
Looking good Sir :-)
Fingers crossed, I'll be taking mine out for its maiden next weekend!

What are the wing and fuselage dimensions of this Talon?
Nice,like the hatch mods.It`s a great plane,flies very efficiently.
Can't wait!!!

What flight times are you getting?

Wow, so simple!? :-) Thanks for that quick reply!
if it is reversed- just swap the servo wires...

Did the goop do anything to the foam did you use it to gule the plane together to?
If i buy the pnp verion what should i buy exept the receiver tranmiter and batery for a better plane ?
Nice build, looking Fw to see the maiden.
Cheers.

How do you do , if you need to replace a servo ?
great video, what size wire are you using for control arms?
The stock wires
This engine and the propeller enough? Or look for something more powerful? And what is the current in cruise?
good job! I'm building one soon. it's to be able to make 2.5hrs flights using GPS way points. thinking about using apm.
Where did you bought those wires to extend the motor wires ?
+LeonardoValente hobbyking
How did you deal with not ligned control horns on the tail ?
Why no more videos of this ?
Great video ! Thanks for sharing !
Can you tell me please , what 4S Lipo you are using and what flying time you get with it.
+Thorsten Bindig multistar 4s 5200- I haven't flown it enough to test longevity. I would guess 19-27 min depending on how you flynit
Love a good build video. Heated pushrod! Brilliant Jeff
I stole that tip from the guys at Team-Legit.com They have a ton of great build tips... Glad to share it!!!
Now I have to beat Vortecks to the maiden video- hopefully his bad weather continues... lol
How did you remove the logos on the wing and body?
Peeled them off...
Thanks for the upload, and great channel btw. Quick question: Did you use goop to join the two main fuse halves too, or was that just on the wood tray? Thanks. :)
I used goop but should have used foam tac.. the goop softened the foam slightly
Good to know, thanks for the heads up. Keep up the great content! :)
Do you think it's necessary to use ferrite rings?
Not really, I think my esc has one on it stock though
Can i ask what is goop? Is that the same as epoxy? Cheers,
Goop is similar to "shoe goo" and Uh Por. Like a contact cement
i know this may sound like a stupid question but do gps modules need to be facing up. can be placed sideways
Ironiic zero yes, up
did you use vtail mixer or just using arkbird vtail option
+Nor Idzuwan Mohammad there is no mixing in the radio, it is done through the OSD in the Arkbird
can you quickly dismatle the wings for transport or are they "bound" to the fuselage?
What can i do to reinforce the ailerons ?
Do they need reinforcing? Carbon strip would help and thin hot glue on the hinges
Is hot glue that flexible ?
where did you get the hatchpin from?
did you use a BEC with this setup?
+joel ben no-, but I probably should
can you type the name of your video TX - I am not finding it online. Thanks.
It's the Quanum Elite vtx 600mw
What's "goop", which glue did you use to glue the fuselage together & the horns you used in the wings & v tails, links please? Thanks
Goop is similar to "shoe Goo" and "U por"
7demo7 it did melt the foam or turn soft ?
Nice and clear ! THX !
You need to do some little cut outs so the servo arms dont press against the foam of the wings and V-tail.
Will do- I noticed that
I used digital servos on my talon and as soon as they hit the foam the make that horrible noise.

What happens on landing if you do a slow flare? Will it tipstall?
