      @@LesWalker2023 i'll try. I bought a bunch of cheap batman figures to paint, but then during the plandemic i finally visited my father, who was 77, and he was...not himself. I had to decided to move to his home and help him out. He's got dementia and often gets lost. I don't have as much room here to do any painting, except on sunny days outside.

    That Batmobile looks great! I always liked the Schumacher Batmobiles. I remember all of those figures too, especially that waaay off-model Ivy. Good times.

      Yeah, no matter what movie, the Batman toys were always fun. I love that they always make some random themed versions, like Crowbar Batman, or something silly. Ice Crackin' Batman...Hockey Suit Robin...lol!

    I LOVE Robin model on the Redbird….and I truly love the Batmobile. Even though Batman Forever will always be my favorite Batman film….I really appreciate Batman and Robin for what it is. Your sonar Val Kilmer is incredible! Can’t wait to see your 1/6 Freeze!

      Thanks, Chuck! Your comments mean a lot to me, and I too really love Batman Forever. I like just about all the Batman movies, so I am not a THIS IS THE ONLY BATMAN kind of guy. I had my hat handed to me by a very good friend years ago, when I made light of the 50's comics Batman, and he let me know that he was a legit Batman too! Ever since, I have accepted almost any form of Batman, and Schumacher's movies are there for when you are in that mood. Watching "The Batman", which I love!... over and over, I have needed a lighter romp to enjoy, and here comes Batman and Robin! lol! Anyway, thanks about the Kilmer. He was truly a labor of love, and now, this new custom Freeze is...well...it's hell is what it is. As in, HARD AS... When he is finished, and he will be, you are in for a treat. I have wanted an Arnold Freeze for a long, long time. A decent Arnold Freeze. I just finished cobbling his freeze ray gun! Mr Freeze is my favorite Comics villian, and he deserves a much better figure than the crap Kenner put out. Again, thanks!

      @@LesWalker2023 My pleasure sir! To this day I still don’t understand what they were thinking with the Poison Ivy figures . At least the statue sold at the WB Studio Store back in 97 looks more like Uma. They did a terrible job on Batgirl though….still never got a decent Alicia Batgirl or a decent Chase Meridian for that matter. Two things I’ve always wanted…lol but maybe if The Schumacher cut of Forever eventually gets released, the Schumacher era will have a resurgence and we will finally get them! Wishful thinking right? Thanks again for the fantastic content!

      @@ChuckTheMystery BTW, I am almost done working on a decent 1/6 Poison Ivy. Used the old 12 inch doll they did, the basketball headed one, lol!...and I hope I am making her look pretty decent. Gonna try and class it up a bit. If I could find a scarf or something with that green and red pattern she wore as a sort of cape/covering, it would class her up a lot I think. Anyway, making up for the terrible 4 inch fig of her. And NO BANES! lol!

    finally! Someone that speaks english to review the 1997 Batmobile...but you could get a tripod at the dollar tree to help (my mono-pod was $5, and shakes a little when i extend the neck fully when trying to cover larger magazines). The last review i was trying to watch kept criticizing the movie and the names on the toys...he had no idea what marketing is. You want to oversell the product with crazy names for the weapons. Also, it may be the "worst" movie to the masses, but I loved it for all the campiness. It was a fun movie during the 90s when everyone was getting into darker and grittier movies of that period.

      @@LesWalker2023 thanks for taking the "criticism" well. I never mean to insult, but often people take it that way. I just want to see you do your best. A friend did the same for me when i first started on my old channel: "hold the camera horizontal, not vertical" for example. yeah, i was really trying to find a video on this batmobile, and most of the videos weren't even in English. I just wanted to know if mine was missing the windshield or etc, because I got it at an antique store for $5, very used. I need to fix the stickers, and spray them down with paint consealer.

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  Год назад +1

      @@Scotty-Z70 No worries. I do need to make a better "set" for my vids, no doubt. And with a stationary camera. I had to replace the windshield on this car kit, as the old one was broken off and lost. I used plastic from a figure card cover, then folded it and glued the trimmed part on. Practiced the shape with paper, then made my cuts. Not that hard.

      @@LesWalker2023 cool. i think i subbed to you this morning. I like to show videos of my customs, (like my Xena) but that was an easy fix (her head on a new body) but i'm trying to learn to paint figures...i'm not good yet.

    Good job repainting the action figures & models ! Not the greatest movie ever made however, it was mildy entertaining in a few scenes. Also, the costumes & vehicles are not that bad. Rumors said that Schumacher wanted to direct a Year One type of Batman film, but the studio would`t let him. After the negative critique & box office reception of this film they hit the reboot button & gave us Nolans trilogy.

      Agreed. Sad we didn't get to see what he might have done with less studio interference.

    Hey Les. I'm a long time admirer of your work. I too customize on occasion - mostly working at smaller scales. I have to compliment you on the Batmobile's paint work. Truly stunning! I have one of these lying around waiting to be finished and would love to know your process for creating those beautiful lighting effects. Take care.

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  2 года назад

      Wow, thanks Matthew! Thanks for the kind words and thanks for following my work! OK...Lighting effects with paint...well, first, I hate actual wired lighting of a model, since it only looks good while it is lit. Turn it off and it dies...SO..if I want that look all the time, I paint lighting as best I can, or go the powered down look. I was gonna go that route with a second kit of this car, as I mentioned in the video, but was like, just save the money and go with it! And I did. What I did back in the day, was used some orange and pink (there is no RED) and some yellow, fluorescent acrylic paints, and painted right on the chrome areas where needed, then assembled them within the kit. If you use fluorescent paints, you have to have a base of white or silver (or chrome), then layer the colors on that for it to be bright, or to glow at all. I'd practice on some plastic first to see the effects. As for this particular kit, for the blue lines which are LED or neon light lines in the movie, I mixed pure acrylic white (As bright as you can get,,,) and some Deco Art brand Extreme Sheen Sapphire Blue acrylic and you get this BEAUTIFUL blue (Practice with the shades...) that gives the white a slightly metallic glow, heightening the brightness effect. And paint a layer or two of that, of clean lines with the right pointed brush, and Voila! You have it. You can get Deco Art paints at most Walmarts and Hobby Lobbys. And look in the metallic paints, sometimes on the craft paint aisle. I use anything to GRAB your eye when trying to paint light effects! Best of luck and THANKS so much! Les

    That batmobile looks insanely good!!! Awesome job! Do you have a page where we can see detailed pictures of this model?

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  Год назад +1

      I do not. I will however be trying to do a more detailed video on just my scale Batmobiles, and of course, this one will be there. The 89/92 won't take much attention, the one decent 95 I have will be kind of basic also, as it is another metal finished car, so this kit will get the lion's share of the time as I built and painted it. Thanks for the kind words! I did have fun on it! (That car took two passes, one when I first got it years ago, when I originally built it and did the initial colors, then another more recent pass when I cleaned it up and touched up the spots I had missed, and gloss coated it and painted the Batman inside it. I had totally ignored him before...)

    Which Batman is sitting in the Batmobile with his arms neatly tucked in? I thought the Kenner Batman figs from this line couldn’t sit in the car without their arms sticking out, lol.
    On a personal note, I too disliked this movie for killing the Batman franchise and was happy when the Nolan era got things back on track, but now that I’m older and have my own kid, he loves this one and I am seeing it through new eyes. Time heals all wounds and I have to say, Batman & Robin is really a lot of fun and sort of endearing in it’s over-the-top zaniness. I actually like it better than Forever because it’s more consistent in tone and knows exactly what it is. Forever tried to straddle the line between dark and camp and it’s kinda awkward at times. B&R is just straight up 60s Batman with a 90s veneer, lol.

    • @LesWalker2023
      @LesWalker2023  2 месяца назад

      Totally agreed! The car came with it's own model scale Batman figure, so he fits right in. No figure would fit this kit. As for the movie, isn't it strange how, as just another movie now, not THE LAST ONE OUT, Batman & Robin is just a wacky episode! Good call! I enjoy it, and even enjoy the characters. More than I used to.

    • @spencer6891

      I thought it looked a little small to be the Kenner one! It’s amazing they made the Kenner one such that the figures couldn’t fit properly inside. Looks like a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing…or the vehicle department not knowing what the figure department was doing. Lol. Anyway, yeah, we had B&R on again last night and my wife said “this crazy movie gets better every time I see it.” 😂
