Wow, thank you so much. I opened my Acer 5750 and the wire was broken exactly the same as in your video. No new connector, but I was able to solder a fresh connection to both terminals. If the machine gives me a couple more years, I'll be more than happy.

Great video. Had one of these Laptops from new and its always been faultless. But last year it started to fail to charge unless you 'fiddled' around with the connector. So purchased the part off ebay, followed your instructions on my tablet, while 'doing the job and now it works a treat. Thanks again for a crystal clear set of instructions.

An excellent video on replacing/repairing the DC power jack for an acer aspire 5750 (mine is 5750G). The only real difficulty I had was removing the keyboard. Another video I saw suggested gently lifting the key with tweezers whilst pushing the tab in, which worked. The negative cable came off the power jack, exactly as in this video. Soldered back on and working beautifully! Thank you very much!

Many thanks for taking the time to post this video, I was able to replace the dc part with relative ease thanks to it! You saved me at least a hundred euros in the process too, and I enjoyed learning about the hardware components whilst performing the surgery.

Thank you for a very helpful video, which made the repair a great deal easier than I expected.

It looks like the pin in the center of the new power jack is larger than the old one?

yes and no, there are 3 different pin sizes available for that jack, 2.5 2.0 and 1.65mm, if we have to modify the power supply we usually chop off the power supply cord and put a 2.5mm inner hole plug on it, and we put a 2.5 mm dc jack inside, 2.5mm is more sturdier than the original 1.65mm, now, if the plug is totally fine then we simply put a 1.65mm

Good idea, plus the 1.65mm seems to be harder to find.

if the jack was ok and it was just the cable why not just re-solder the cable back on or replace the whole thing would have been quicker and easier...
