  • The procedure to evaluate Tempur-Pedic memory foam is flawed and is a carryover procedure for evaluating coil mattresses. It just does not apply to Memory Foam and should be changed.

We need to start a class action, clearly this is a known issue

This is so thorough. I bought a Tempurpedic for $4500, but after 7 years -- NEVER AGAIN!

If you take that top cover off, you will see a much bigger gap/dip in the mattress. The cover is made so it will spring back and stay level, look flat. The way your hands are just sinking in like that should be covered under a defect, because it clearly has issues.

Leave 200 pounds of weight on it and remove it when he rings the doorbell , maybe you can get 3/4 an inch…..worked for me

Just want to share my experience with getting the warranty. Just got approved to get my 2yr old proadapt replaced but seriously the process was frustrating, the rep name Victoria had me jumping through hoops to prove that theres an indentation on my mattress, we even went to the point to move the mattress to the floor because she assumed i got the foot of the bed elevated to exaggerate the ident! 5 emails later they finally gave in and gave me a code to use in their website to get a replacement.

Got the exact same problem here. Bed has lost its support in the weight baring areas like the hips. Not good when your a side sleeper with back issues. It goes back to true form when your off it so warranty won't be honored. First and LAST Tempur-Pedic I'm buying. It was good till about the 3 year mark. Now at year 5 it's unbearable and time for a replacement. Defiantly did no live up to the price per performance expectation.

I wish mine lasted 5 years. I bought mine last year (Pro Adapt medium Model) and near the hips on my side its sagging when I lay. Just curious, what type of foundation did you have?

I just started a warranty claim, at first it was denied due to no dip. They requested additional photos of the deterioration the mattress has. Took the cover off and the top layer is riddled with cracks and the foam crumbling apart. They accepted the warranty and gave me the price i paid for the matress in credit towards rhe purchase of a new one. No one came to my house, this was done via their website and email. Take your cover off and examine, then start the warranty claim for foam deterioration.

Can’t speak to Matt’s comment below on if that’s a real one or not. But I do have a real one that is 7ish years old and have the exact same issues Peter is having with ours. Very disappointed with the mattress as it was expensive and I expected a premium product.

Its real! Otherwise why would Temper-Pedic send their warranty personnel?

Same happens to us, after a bit more than 5 years, no back support. No more Tempur.

Less than 2 year old tempurpedic pro adapt medium and the exact same problem. My side of the mattress is completely soft and has lost its support.

My Temper-Pedic mattress is only 5 months old and I'm already having issues with it.

Agreed. we started having issues after 90 days. After a year, it’s literally painful to sleep on because of the massive dip from feet to waist to head. Feels like sleeping in a hammock

Same. Curious what model people have. The support is gone around my waste hips area. It was great for the first 3-4 months.

@invertedfjord tempur-pedic adapt medium. Support gone from waist hips and causing so much back and knee pain.

Curious which model you have. I have the Pro adapt medium and it sags after only 1 year. Not as bad as yours but its at the point where I am sleeping on my old Ikea latex mattress in the guest room because I cannot take it anymore. It sags right where my hips are.
