You never cease to amaze me with your encyclopedic knowledge of this game. Have the KI cabinet on order, so I will definitely be coming back to this! Thanks!
Thanks Josh, I think I’m going to do a bunch of KI related videos and a stream or two leading up to the launch. Mostly fun stuff and maybe some more tutorials.
You make it look so simple Chris, but I love your tutorials. I picked up an MK2 cabinet today I want to convert to a KI. Never really played the game but watching all your content, is making me want to learn to play it. Like a new game for me 🙂 Thank you for sharing.
That would be really cool to see. I know you mentioned it but if you go through with it, I’ll have to see it finished! Then I’ll bug you to sell it to me haha.
@@KillerArcadeGames LOL, I'll charge you in Canadian funds to save you a few bucks! 😀 It's something I've been wanting to do for a while since I joined your channel..Even though it's not a true KI cabinet, it's still a Midway and something about playing on a Midway cabinet that's so satisfying
@@KillerArcadeGames may be a bit before I get it it Chris, but I'll definitely be doing it and documenting it along the way! Looking forward to your next MK4 playthrough. I'm hoping to get my cab into the basement this weekend and start putting it together.
That's really cool. It definitely Italy looks doable no matter the skill level (but after learning g the basic combos). In this game, I played Saberwolf, Glacius, and Thunder.
You've been playing 27 years - yet you missed out something about Eyedol. If he hits you with a big combo, he will do his foot stomp to gain his energy back. But as soon as you are on your feet, he will pause. He will stay paused for a while, meaning you can get a free combo in on him. It works everytime too (although he may use a Combo Breaker). I have to say I'm surprised you don't know this, for someone who is a veteran of this game. Check out 8:51 - he's giving you a free combo. This was programmed in on purpose
I do know about that, however I assumed it was a glitch as it doesn't seem to happen all of the time. I've talked about it on live streams in the past. I've found he doesn't always stay still. It looks like he is but you get near him and he attacks lol.
Mannn I used to play on my older brothers Super Nintendo. I’m playing right now on my Xbox series s and I’ve only come close to beating him once! 🤣 now I am here
The main difference would probably be the speed the game runs at. This seems to be the issue with all emulation though. The original hardware had slower access speeds for the memory and hard drives. There’s also some “chug” factor that goes on with the real hardware. There are a few specific points in the game that I notice the original hardware lags behind the modern day hardware that has no problem displaying what’s happening on screen. If I get the cab, I may go through and point out those specific parts. I really wonder if most people even care though. They just seem to want the cab no matter what.
Awsome video was a mall rat and played this game for year wish I could play it like you on the old school arcade style ki and ki 2 were so very awsome never got to perfect my infinite ultra loops with cinder but was amazing with tj combo Saber wold and jago orchid was strong also 😀 also was wondering if you know of how to make a cabinet for htftf jojo bizzar adventures was a great fighting game the movie theater had
@@KillerArcadeGamesI tried that way he kept blocking 😂 but I ended up beating him eventually with her. SN: I play on Snes not the arcade version so it’s different
I think I will. I’ve had a decent rise lately just from the Sinden review. I’m still not sure I’ll get the cab though 😬. I might be picking up another real arcade tomorrow! (Not KI, unfortunately)
Hey bro its Gamer Stan I played this guy on xbox and he had did some move with fulgore that I never seen he uppercut me and the electrocuted me with lighting in the sky hiw did he do that I never in my life seen that I'm 41 years old
loved it so much back in the days. But those asshole with TJ and Cinder comboing everyone to death scared the shit out of me coz i was so proud of my 4 hit combos me and my puny poor ass. :) But the Snes was where i really learned to play. I had it and I got to be unstoppable with spinal in two players. i got to be that asshole to my friends:D
I'm never will be good at Killer Instinct. Cause i can do single punches and kicks, but when it comes to combos... well, i don't have a clue how to do them. I mean, i tried to do them the way that many of tutorials in internet says, but it's no luck. Like you have to know timing or something, i don't know. The same with Street Fighter. All tho, i can do double or triple combos in Street Fighter games, but only as a Karate characters, like Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan, Sakura, Gouken or Sean. In KI, only thing i can do is single punch or kick and that's it. But the game that i'm good at is Mortal Kombat, that's for sure. Cause i'm playing MK since i was born (almost). It was my very first game on Sega Mega Drive. And Tekken... well, you don't even have to know how to do combos. You just mash your buttons and it will do stuff without you doing anything.
Use your ears to feel the game, not just your eyes, you can use the sound of your hits to know when to activate the next move in the combo and/or use it to activate the combo breakers. Not played this game in years but used to be a total boss back in the day when it was released, all top scores on arcade machines and bragging rights over all my friends trying to win a round against me on snes version, they used to make me play handicap with a blindfold on or facing away from the screen and that's where I figured out you can use the sound to your advantage Try it out minus the blindfold lol
There is a lot of timing when it comes to the combos. It just comes naturally to me for the most part. I always go back to it because almost like playing music. I hear the character’s sounds when their being hit as a beat to follow lol. It’s weird. Orchid was the first character I learned and the noises she makes during a point in the combo used to lead me to press the buttons, similar to keeping a beat. If I can ever put it into words in an eloquent way I will haha.
@@sirob9532 Sound eh? What is this, some kind of rythm music game or something? I mean, playing a fighting game i expect it to be that - a fighting game, and not a rythm game. Anyway, i can try to do that, but i have no idea of how and when you can understand that you gotta press a button to do a combo, according to your advice.
@@KillerArcadeGames Well, then i guess that complicated fighting mechanics in fighting games is not my thing. Cause i'm casual gamer. Sure, i would like to learn stuff, but most of the time i like to play fighting games with simple fighting mechanics. Like Mortal Kombat for example. I know almost all combos in UMK3, except Jax full combo, cause it is hard to do lol
I didn’t see this comment when replying with a similar comment haha. I think I could play KI blindfolded. It may be something I try as a challenge for a live stream!
Naw you wrong buddy. The key to defeating this game is to know that each fighter has a weakness when it comes to other fighters and to defeat them, you must select the character they are weak against. fulgore can be easily defeated by using jago’s basic attacks. Spinal can defeat spinal. And eyedol can be defeated by using tj combo. All you have to do is use his rolling technique and his rushing punch. No combos otherwise you’ll give eyedol the opportunity to refill his health

I'm pretty good on the snes version but on the arcade its hard thanks for the tips
I haven’t played the SNES version in a long time. I feel like the knowledge transfers but it’s probably a little different, especially timing wise.

No. Doesn’t jump towards you ever and stands there half the time. Jumping and kicking doesn’t trigger him to move either.
Well definitely trying this later on the snes version to see how it goes. I hate Eyedol
You’ll have to let me know if it works well on there too! I think it will.
Bro, your channel is great. I'm late to the party.
Thanks man! I’m glad you found it.
I can only beat idol with TJ combo but my main character is orchid but for some reason I can’t beat him with her.
There’s an easy way to beat the whole game with orchid! Beat Killer Instinct With Orchid's 4 Hit Combo!

@@KillerArcadeGamesI tried that way he kept blocking 😂 but I ended up beating him eventually with her. SN: I play on Snes not the arcade version so it’s different
On SNES the cat don’t work on idol for orchid so it’s harder to get in combos against him
And order to beat the whole game without losing which character to use Especially against spinal fulgore & eyedol
I’d start with Orchid or Sabrewulf.
Ok
Ok
Which character to use Against spinal and fulgore And go through the whole game without losing
Cinder was easiest for me. Invisibility to avoid all fireballs, somersault kick for anti-air.
Hopefully you get a sub bump with that 1up coming out

Interesting, was it a finishing move? Or done during the match?
It's was done during the match he even did one where he upper cut me and you could not see while I was in the air and he kept hitting me its insane
The stage he did it on was orchids stage
great video as usual.... do you remember the trick to play as Eyedol? I used to do it but I can`t remember it.
Yes! Pick Cinder, on the Vs screen hold right on the joystick, press QP, QK, FP, MK, MP and FK you should hear “eyedol” before the match starts.
