@@TheDracWithSilverB naw, humans are susceptible to PTSD because we arent normally exposed to death. When we are its after 20+ years typically of such an easy life These animals are exposed to being hunted and death since birth, this is the norm for them, hence why they all know what to do as a single unit. PTSD is primarily a domesticated animal issue, like humans, dogs, cats, other pets. Were weak minded. If we were being hunted and accepted this as life since birth than the sight of death and potentially being killed sucks, but wont be nearly as traumatic.
@@sacr3 I would say neither are we weaker nor are they used to PTSD. We are just realizing that life ruled by nature is ruthless and that PTSD is a name given to a "normal condition" by nature's rules, but considered an illness for a civilized society. A "chronic alert condition" (very shallow definition of PTSD) is something needed to survive out there. Ergo, civilization is a good peacemaking instrument and reduces the amount of violence in a society, nothing new.
My heart was beating for this bear the whole time. I saw a sad skinny polar got injured so badly by walruses before that it did not survive, breaks my heart.
@OnceuponatimetherewasMEpostingacommentonyoutube You must have been great friends with Darwin... did you know he also believed there were 13 different species of humans living on the planet today "higher and lower species" and that he also was the one who thought up eugenics, that it was his cousin that helped Hitler develop his plans involving "the master race". Funny a man so famous yet you never here about any of his other work, especially when his theory of evolution came out at the end of his life. Something he held back for decades because he felt there was something wrong with it, something missing. Glad we have you to keep us informed of what he would be thinking these days though But I would not expect anything less from someone who believes in global warming.. probably a smelly purple haired communist too
@@tarron3237 It is not that they dont realize that, they just dont give a fuck lmao. In another video on YT you can see a male walrus VERY confidently confronting a female bear with a cub. They are very well aware of their monstrous power, but they just dont care. At the end of the day, escaping uses much less calories and it protects the offspring far better.
But some of the walruses look the bear in the eye and had a fighting stance.if the bear tried to fight 1 head on I think they will definitely try to defend themselves.
Awkward bear: “excuse me I’m looking for a prey today, would you be-oh sorry excuse me would you-okay maybe next time, do you know anyone else that might be interested? Oh no trouble I can eat tomorrow instead, have a great day!”
Polar bears have an amazing sense of smell, but they also seem to have a great sense of smell for fear too, initially only attacking the walruses that seem fearful or nervous, truly incredible!
That would be the ultimate cheat code in nature. The problem is these herd animals think about their own survival and only go in large groups to help themselves survive. But if they acted like ants where individuals dont care about their survival but the greater good of the colony, all predator species would die off. Think about it... Buffalo, zebra and wildebeest would never run off...for example if some lions attacked, like 50 of them would attack the lions at once and although some would die/get injured, they would take out the lions.
It’s meaningless to me to watch a BBC nature film without Sir David Attenborough's voice commenting, he is simply the one and only, the best ever..a real legend
@@jonlanier_ I can definitely see the democratic party akin to a bunch of fat walruses, but wouldn't it be unfair to the walrus to be associated with a dunce cap like aoc. So jackass sounds about right lol
@@jonlanier_ Why do you have to make a nature video about politics.... Incase you aren't aware; the republican party is widely seen as destructive for America throughout the world. David Attenborough famously said about the Trump presidency: ‘The present administration is disastrous’ and about Trump: 'We could shoot him. It's not a bad idea' (although that last part was said mostly in jest). I'll give you a small list of some of the things the republican party is responsible for in recent history: Illegal selling of arms to Iran (in violation of an American arms embargo). Illegal funding of terrorist groups in Nicaragua. The War on Drugs. The Iraq war. The Afghanistan war. Authorizing the use of torture (a human rights violation). Blowing up the federal debt and deficit during a boom cycle by massively cutting taxes for the rich (twice, both Bush and Trump did it). Passing a 2003 law banning the government from negotiating drug prices and thus blowing up healthcare costs. Preventing the DEA from going after pharmaceutical companies while 50.000 americans a year were dieing from an opioid crisis created by those same companies. Passing numerous laws with the aim of preventing people to vote. Extreme gerrymandering and other anti democratic measures to enable minority rule. Blocking general healthcare reform. Preventing the fighting of climate change and denying it even exists. Denying evolution. Undermining trust in democratic institutions. Attempting to overturn a democratic election. And this list is just scratching the surface of destructive policies and actions the republican party is responsible for. Yes in some of those cases some democrats were complicit, however they were all done by the republican party and signed on to by republican presidents and (in most cases) overwhelming majorities of republican elected officials.
*When the walrus' are getting away:* "Get'em polar bear, pounce on him and take him down!" *When the polar bear has a walrus by the neck:* "Turn around walrus and stab him with your fangs!"
2:37 That bear has extremely fast reaction time or just lucky as he was a split away of getting stabbed from the other walrus that was protecting his friend!
Never fails to impress me how a herd of X animal, can form a literal superpower against their attacker, but because if their instinct, they end up going into absolute defence
yea its frustrating to see huh, if they were just a little bit smarter they could have clapped that polar bear so quick, I suppose this is why they stay as prey
It's a evolution thing, there was a time when the Earth was overpopulated by predator's and the prey's that before fighted them, where incapable of doing it, so they started to flee of them The flee thing then was ingrained in they dna and was transpassed to they descendant's.
Yes it is weird watching buffalo taken by lion - a beast which can easily walk around all day with a lion on its back just sort of goes, "Oh ok, you got me" and gives up...whilst the herd which could easily drive off the lion retreat. Lessons to be learned about the consequences of selfishness, which apply to humans too.
They don't even try to clap the bear really. Their main defense is still to run away slowly. Their chances for survival would increase greatly if they clapped back.
The fact that their hides can withstand a bite like that is simply incredible.

Tom CFC, likely died.

Now we will have a Walrus society full of PTSD.
Seems funny, it's probably true though
@@TheDracWithSilverB naw, humans are susceptible to PTSD because we arent normally exposed to death. When we are its after 20+ years typically of such an easy life
These animals are exposed to being hunted and death since birth, this is the norm for them, hence why they all know what to do as a single unit.
I saw a sad skinny polar got injured so badly by walruses before that it did not survive, breaks my heart.
i hate polar bears, they just chase after you in minecraft
Its a riddle to me how they can survive, in every video I see, they ate month ago, go hunting and fail every time.
The got a deal with Coca Cola
It's pretty much socialism for animals

You must have been great friends with Darwin... did you know he also believed there were 13 different species of humans living on the planet today "higher and lower species" and that he also was the one who thought up eugenics, that it was his cousin that helped Hitler develop his plans involving "the master race".
Funny a man so famous yet you never here about any of his other work, especially when his theory of evolution came out at the end of his life. Something he held back for decades because he felt there was something wrong with it, something missing.
Glad we have you to keep us informed of what he would be thinking these days though
But I would not expect anything less from someone who believes in global warming.. probably a smelly purple haired communist too
@Christian Schön man made global warming is a political lie, you've been indoctrinated to empower the government to solve imaginary problems
They just can't keep a polar bear away forever, the desire and power is ridiculous.
"The Walruses sense they're in danger," 10,000 walruses-1 bear.
@Etelred EtelredYeah if they only knew.. two of them could easily maul the bear. One stab with the tusks - problem solved
Next time go for the penguins.
People are no different. Look at politicians and how they destroy people's lives.
Hilarious
LoL 🤣
😂😂😂😂
XD
A True Canadian bear;)
Polar bears have an amazing sense of smell, but they also seem to have a great sense of smell for fear too, initially only attacking the walruses that seem fearful or nervous, truly incredible!
1:42 I love how the birdie doesn't care about the fight lol
Birds: ugh its Greg again he's always doing this man!
anyone else not get why the thousands of walruses dont just gang on the polar bear?
i feel the same way. It is very similar to monarchy when few guys rule the country and millions citizens scare of them.
I was thinking the exact same. Are those tusks for nothing? And they weigh a ton!
@@loneartist8310 walrus are not the aggresive type😂
The same reason a single school shooter can control a whole room of people I guess?
Did anybody else just remember that polar bears are 10 ft tall and this one looks like a tiny teddy bear next to the walruses
I just searched size comparison between humans and a walrus and i was blown away by how massive they are seriously they make the bear look tiny
Don't forget the fact that he lost almost half of his weight swimming.
Facinating how walruses rarely attack polar bears regardless of the size of their herds
How they are supposed to eat a polar bear? They know he cannot kill a grown walrus.
Why are there Dislikes? This is Literally just animals living their lives.
And why u mad? This is literally just humans living their lives in youtube.
Its nature
Because polar bear has white priviledge, and attacking black walrus
People fat-shaming the walruses.
12 thousand dislikes are all the polar bears that were rooting for the bear side.
It’s meaningless to me to watch a BBC nature film without Sir David Attenborough's voice commenting, he is simply the one and only, the best ever..a real legend
A seal legend
Surely hyperbole, or you don't actually enjoy watching nature vids.
lets be honest ... morgan freeman is better
@@ssi-cc4dx nope
There's some special corners of RUclips where you find a good narrator with no drama
The walruses could just clap him in 2 seconds if they actually cooperated an attack. Cooperation is easily the strongest tool in nature
Exactly. While he's biting one, another could easily come from the top and tusk the bear. It looks like they are together but they're really not.
Yep, that's the democrat party for ya. Look out for themself and no one else.
@@jonlanier_ I can definitely see the democratic party akin to a bunch of fat walruses, but wouldn't it be unfair to the walrus to be associated with a dunce cap like aoc. So jackass sounds about right lol
@@jonlanier_ , stupid republican... u still think the Earth is flat.
I'll give you a small list of some of the things the republican party is responsible for in recent history:
Illegal selling of arms to Iran (in violation of an American arms embargo).

Damn I didn’t realize how big walruses were until they made the polar bear look small

I know, and they have tusks like spears and Hyde like iron.

Walrus are so massive and tough that even the grown females don’t register the bite force if a grown male polar bears
*When the walrus' are getting away:* "Get'em polar bear, pounce on him and take him down!"
*When the polar bear has a walrus by the neck:* "Turn around walrus and stab him with your fangs!"
True, this was an emotional roller coaster. I want the polar bear to eat but I don't want to see a baby walrus die.
1:09
The bravest walrus I have ever seen.
10MinuteGameplay the polar bear is braver tho cuz it will not win in an 1v1 fight vs a walrus
10MinuteGameplay he was saying "No pedos allowed"
Look at the face of the Polar Bear, he scared

Don't worry, the things she does are more embarrassing
2:37 That bear has extremely fast reaction time or just lucky as he was a split away of getting stabbed from the other walrus that was protecting his friend!

2:10 - "Having failed with one he heads straight for another" - me in nightclubs
“It slips through his grasp…”
"If he can just prise her off"
haha can I buy you a drink?
yeah = FANNY FANNY FANNY............
LOL wow!
It's a evolution thing, there was a time when the Earth was overpopulated by predator's and the prey's that before fighted them, where incapable of doing it, so they started to flee of them
The flee thing then was ingrained in they dna and was transpassed to they descendant's.
Maybe that's part of the reason why humans became the dominant species. The extent of cooperation that was possibly unmatched in the animal kingdom.
@@BuzzKirill3D unmatched?..............what about viruses?
Imagine being a very strong and massive beast just to be clapped by a thicc sausage that wields two swords
I kinda felt bad for the polar bear, those walruses fucked him up lol
Really puts things into perspective. Polar bears are big but walruses are even bigger.
They’re both strong and massive beasts
"Thicc sausage" dang 😂😂😂
They don't even try to clap the bear really. Their main defense is still to run away slowly. Their chances for survival would increase greatly if they clapped back.
2:54 I love how all those Arctic Terns are preying on the fish being spooked by all the commotion while the bear is trying to eat the walrus
